Chapter 516: Sea Of Death (Part 7)

Vigil Storozh pondered for a moment, "It looks like we need to split into two groups. One group should distract that mutated creature, while the other tries to investigate that thing. At the very least, we need to see what it is."

"Let’s do this: we’ll handle the distraction while Canadane Zhao goes in for a closer look," President Luis suggested.

Canadane Zhao was the most familiar with the area, making him the best choice for the task.

Vigil Storozh and Canadane Zhao both agreed and after some discussion, they began their operation.

Amalia and Kenny Lin didn’t move; they decided to see what the mutated sea turtle was planning.

When the turtle stopped, Wealth was still a little bit dizzy.

Just as it was thinking whether it should hold on tight, it was suddenly flung off.

The mutated sea turtle had abruptly shaken its head.

Wealth tumbled through the water for several rotations before stabilizing itself, angrily cursing, "Damn it! You turtle bastard! You should have given me a warning before shaking me off. If I get hurt, can you afford to compensate?"

Amalia couldn’t understand what Wealth was ranting about, or she might have hit it on the head.

The enormous head of the mutated sea turtle faced Wealth, emitting a deep buzzing sound.

Its large, human-like eyes scrutinized Wealth.

Wealth’s ears were buzzing from the turtle’s loud voice.

Not getting the response it wanted, the mutated sea turtle shook its head angrily, sending waves toward Wealth.

This time, Wealth was prepared.

After being trained by Amalia for so long, it was no longer a naive youngster.

Seeing the turtle’s reaction, its eyes sparkled with mischievous intent.

From Amalia and Kenny Lin’s perspective, the large and small creatures were finally communicating, although with some tension involved.

After about ten minutes, the mutated sea turtle let out a low roar, seemingly urging Wealth.

Wealth put its paws on its hips, arrogantly shouting, "Why are you in such a hurry? I haven’t finished my questions yet!"

The mutated sea turtle impatiently scraped its short limbs against the seabed, its eyes flashing red.

"Hurry up and ask your questions, then hand over the black fragment. Otherwise, no matter how small you are, I’ll eat you," the turtle growled.

"I got it. You’re so powerful, and I’m so weak. How could I deceive you? I’m new here and just want to know the secrets of the Sea of Death. As soon as you tell me, I’ll hand over the black fragment. But if you don’t tell me, or if you lie to me, I swear I won’t give up the fragments. Even if you kill me, you’ll never get it. I’ve already told my friends, if I die, they’ll give the fragments to someone else," Wealth declared smugly.

The mutated sea turtle’s eyes widened in disbelief.

How could such a tiny creature, with a brain smaller than even the smallest marine-type mutated creature in this area, come up with such words?

The mutated sea turtle hadn’t taken the small Wealth seriously at first.

It planned to deceive him into revealing the location of the black fragment.

However, it didn’t expect Wealth to be so articulate.

Indeed, if it killed Wealth in anger, it would never learn the fragments’s whereabouts.

While the turtle wasn’t particularly concerned about the fragments itself, Wealth mentioned that his friends would give it to someone else if he died, which could lead to even bigger problems.

"Fine, just make sure you hand over the black fragment when the time comes, or else this old turtle will make sure you die without a trace," the mutated sea turtle said, suppressing its irritation.

"I always keep my word," Wealth replied, almost putting his feet up in a relaxed manner.

Seeing Wealth’s smug expression, Amalia whose watching this scene from nearby, understood exactly what was happening.

She glanced at Kenny Lin.

"Why are you looking at me? I didn’t teach him that," Kenny Lin reflexively responded.

"True, you didn’t teach him, but he learned it from watching you," Amalia retorted dismissively.

Kenny Lin decided not to argue further.

"The Sea of Death doesn’t have any real secrets. It’s just very dangerous. You should have seen the underwater volcanoes, ice pillars, tornadoes, and those dangerous rifts. But as long as you’re careful..."

"Stop, stop, stop!" Wealth interrupted him, feeling annoyed, "Who wants to hear about that? I want the real secrets. What you’re telling me is common knowledge. Don’t take me as a fool."

"What secrets could the Sea of Death possibly have?"

The mutated sea turtle’s eyes flickered, as some things weren’t suitable for others to know.

"What about that King? What is it guarding exactly? That’s what I want to know!"

Wealth demanded bluntly.

After entering the sea with its owner, Wealth had overheard from several marine-type mutated creatures about the King.

Although it didn’t know what that was, it sounded important and impressive enough to use for bluffing.

The mutated sea turtle realized that this little creature wasn’t lying.

It really didn’t know anything and having just arrived at the Sea of Death.

"Didn’t you just arrive at the Sea of Death? How do you know the King is guarding something?" the mutated sea turtle asked.

"That’s none of your business. Now it’s my turn to ask questions, not yours. If you don’t want to answer, then kill me. But you’ll never get the black fragment. My friend will give it directly to one of the King’s subordinates," Wealth retorted with an eye roll.

Hearing this, the mutated sea turtle mistakenly believed that Wealth had previously instructed his friend and knew some inside information.

This made it anxious, "Fine, fine, I’ll tell you. Just don’t let your friend do that."

Wealth finally showed a barely satisfied expression.

The mutated sea turtle spoke for only a few minutes, as the matter wasn’t very complicated.

After finishing, it asked Wealth, "That’s basically the story. Now, can you tell me where the black fragment is?"
