Chapter 448: The Beginning Of The War (Part 16)

After a while, the number of Bronze Formanterror that had been decreasing suddenly surged again.

The soldiers began to admire Amalia even more, amazed that she had predicted the situation so accurately.

The Bronze Formanterror deliberately split their forces into two groups to draw her away.

Amalia had indeed left, but she left behind someone even stronger—Kenny Lin.

The queen ant underground had not yet noticed Amalia’s absence, and once it sensed her aura was gone, it immediately sent out signals summoning more Bronze Formanterror to begin their breakout.

The signals grew more urgent.

The queen ant aimed to break through the human defense lines before Amalia returned.

Dozens, even hundreds, of Bronze Formanterror emerged together from the ever-widening pit, some of them leaping up, revealing ferocious expressions.

Kenny Lin let out a cold laugh.

He didn’t even use his sword but instead released a strand of black energy.

The black energy moved among the ants like a fish swimming in the sea, navigating through the Bronze Formanterror with excitement.

The ants the black energy passed through instantly turned into withered corpses, leaving only husks that fell back into the pit, now hollow.

In no time, all the hundred Bronze Formanterror had been killed.

The sated black energy returned to Kenny Lin.

The soldiers looked on in bewilderment.

This scene seemed to deeply provoke the queen ant at the bottom of the pit.

It emitted an angry, piercing sound wave, its voice sharp and jarring.

The soldiers’ ears began to bleed, and even covering their ears didn’t help.

It felt as though the sound was piercing directly through their brains.

They looked to Kenny Lin for help.

Kenny Lin remained as stoic as ever, his gaze fixed intensely on the pit.

His eyes were pitch-black, with a hint of killing intent between his brows.

He threw a punch, sending stones and sand flying everywhere.

The debris wasn’t randomly scattered; it targeted the ants attempting to climb out of the pit, most of it landing on the queen ant.

The queen ant’s screams were cut short as its menacing head emerged from the pit, its venomous eyes locked onto Kenny Lin at the pit’s edge.

Meanwhile, Amalia arrived at the other underground tunnel created by the Bronze Formanterror.

As soon as Amalia arrived, the ground started to crack, just like the previous scene.

This time, the cracking happened at an even faster pace, and the affected area was continuously expanding.

The nearby soldiers and spirit cultivators were so frightened that they backed away.

The Bronze Formanterror had chosen a plaza, making the situation more challenging than the treatment area’s rear yard.

Standing on the rooftop, Amalia looked at the cracks in the ground and saw the Bronze Formanterror slowly emerging.

She suddenly thought of an idea.

She took out an intermediate level spiritual artifact, and the amulet attached to it began to glow.

Several fireballs quickly formed in front of the spiritual artifact and shot down into the cracks.

The flames exploded immediately, spreading rapidly in all directions.

The intense heat forced the people nearby to retreat, and the Bronze Formanterror underground suffered even more.

The ground split open, revealing Bronze Formanterror completely engulfed in flames.

They screeched in pain as they tried to climb up to attack humans but were burned to death before they could.

What was left were charred shells.

The fire seemed to be the Bronze Formanterror’s natural enemy.

After about a hundred Bronze Formanterror were simultaneously killed by the flames, the remaining ants underground retreated like a tidal wave.

On the other side, Adjudant Calderón and his team weren’t as quick as Amalia, but they had their own methods.

The Bronze Formanterror on their side emerged in a corner, which the team was able to contain.

After learning that the ants were afraid of fire, Adjudant Calderón organized about a dozen soldiers equipped with fire amulets.

Though the power and heat of their flames weren’t as strong as Amalia’s spiritual artifact, they still managed to push the Bronze Formanterror back step by step.

The cries of her struggling offspring reached the queen ant’s ears, causing her to grow increasingly agitated.

Her legs dug into the dirt as she suddenly bared her menacing teeth and unleashed an even sharper sonic attack.

This attack was targeted solely at Kenny Lin, shaking the air and creating strong gusts of wind that swept through the rear yard.

The soldiers in the rear yard were hit by the residual force and could hardly stand their ground.

They staggered, gripping onto walls to avoid being blown away.

Kenny Lin, standing at the center of the sound wave, remained unfazed.

Though the queen ant was powerful, she was only half as strong as the Purple Pavoraiah.

As long as he could trap her in one place, her methods would become predictable, such as the sonic attack.

Kenny Lin’s mouth curled into a mocking smile as he drew his long sword, which emitted a sinister black energy.

Seeing the black energy, the queen ant hesitated and began to retreat, her legs slowly moving backward while she directed the Bronze Formanterror behind her.

Receiving the queen ant’s command, the Bronze Formanterror climbed out of the pit without hesitation, rushing toward Kenny Lin like moths to a flame.

"Trying to escape? It’s too late," Kenny Lin said calmly.

He swung his sword, and the black sword energy grew to dozens of times its original size, resembling a giant dark beast that lunged toward the Bronze Formanterror in the pit.

The queen ant sensed the threat of death and, without hesitation, abandoned her colony and fled.

The Bronze Formanterror behind her formed layers upon layers of walls to shield the queen ant from the black sword energy.

The black sword’s energy cut through the ants in its path, cleaving them in half as it surged toward the queen ant.

When the queen ant turned and saw the black sword energy rushing toward her, she was engulfed in it in an instant.
