Chapter 444: The Beginning Of The War (Part 12)

His initial joy at spotting the Lumina Scale Komodo had kept him from wondering why the Lumina Scale Komodo was even here.

Now that he saw Amalia, it all made sense.

Andrian Rogriguez had mentioned before that the Lumina Scale Komodo from the Sweet Cheery disaster zone was with Kenny Lin.

They had watched Kenny Lin for some time but never found the Lumina Scale Komodo.

Unexpectedly, it had ended up with Amalia.

"What do you want?" Amalia narrowed her eyes, showing a hint of danger.

"Hand over the Lumina Scale Komodo."

Antonio Rodriguez’s eyes showed a hint of determination.

Amalia responded, "Why should I?"

Antonio Rodriguez puffed out his chest and sneered, "Amalia, don’t force me to act. You stole the Rodriguez family’s spirit stone vein. We haven’t even settled that account yet. If you hand over the Lumina Scale Komodo and the advanced level sword technique you just used, the Rodriguez family can overlook the spirit stone vein incident."

Amalia let out a cold laugh, "Just because you claim the Rodriguez family has lost a spirit stone vein doesn’t mean it has. I could just as easily say that your Rodriguez family stole an entire vein of spirit-rich stone from me. Shouldn’t you compensate me for that?"

Antonio Rodriguez frowned; clearly, he wasn’t as adept at verbal sparring as Amalia.

"I don’t have time to argue with you. If you don’t hand over the Lumina Scale Komodo today, don’t blame me for being ruthless."

"Then try it and see if you get slaughtered before me."

Amalia wasn’t afraid of Antonio Rodriguez, even though his cultivation level was two stages higher than hers.

Amalia had already killed the Black Titanoviper, so he was not intimidated by Antonio Rodriguez.

"You!"

Antonio Rodriguez was indeed wary, but not because of Amalia; he feared the Lin family.

Amalia immediately called out, "Kenny."

On the chaotic battlefield filled with noise and shouts, Kenny Lin, who was a distance from the city wall, heard her call effortlessly.

Seeing Antonio Rodriguez standing in front of Amalia, Kenny Lin unleashed his killing intent without hesitation.

Antonio Rodriguez felt a chill run down his spine, as though his head might explode.

He closed his eyes, and when he reopened them, his gaze was filled with naked malice and killing intent, "You win this time!"

He wasn’t going to let this go easily.

Once Amalia was sure Antonio Rodriguez wouldn’t return, he let Wealth come out.

Being seen was no longer a concern.

As Wealth had run to her, it had likely been seen by more than just Antonio Rodriguez.

She had instructed Wealth not to be seen by others, so it was odd for it to come up to her now.

Something might be up.

The tacit understanding she and Wealth had developed over the past month proved useful.

Wealth pointed to the sky, indicating the high-level mutated creatures, which Amalia immediately linked to what it was seeing.

She took the situation seriously.

She gave Wealth a handful of spirit beads, which it used to demonstrate something.

It made a circle and then had several spirit beads emerge from underneath the circle.

This was somewhat challenging, but through a mix of guessing and inference, Amalia caught on and her expression changed.

"The circle is the city?"

Wealth nodded enthusiastically, puffing up its chest in pride.

It loved playing riddles with its owner, and it always felt a sense of achievement.

"Are mutated creatures going to burrow up from beneath the city?"

Wealth nodded again, its owner was so smart, so smart!

Amalia took a deep breath.

So, these high-level mutated creatures had set up a backup plan.

She immediately handed out a set of amulets to Officer Henry and the others, then turned to leave.

Holden Trueno only saw her hurried departure and didn’t understand the reason behind it.

Amalia jumped down from the high city walls and landed inside the city.

While everyone on the city walls was working hard, those below were equally busy, with a constant flow of people going up to provide support.

General Yzaguirre’s Adjudant was giving orders to keep the situation under control and avoid panic among the people.

Noticing the serious expression on Amalia’s face, Adjudant Calderón immediately approached her, "Miss Amalia, what’s the matter?"

"I suspect that mutated creatures might burrow into the city from underground," Amalia said without hesitation.

Fruit City No. 1 is the largest city among all the Fruit Country cities.

She knew she wouldn’t be able to find the source on her own.

Adjudant Calderón’s expression changed immediately, "Are you sure?"

"Of course, I’m not one to joke about such matters. I want to know which areas have thinner layers of soil and are more likely to be burrowed into by mutated creatures," Amalia calmly asked.

Adjudant Calderón thought for a moment, "When this city was built, the military considered that possibility, so the ground was paved with the hardest stones. However, after countless battles over the years, some damage may have occurred. I’ll issue orders right away to have everyone search for potential entry points."

"Thank you," Amalia said.

"Miss Amalia, this is my duty," Adjudant Calderón replied as he hurried off.

Amalia, too, stayed busy.

If those high-level mutated creatures were placing their hopes on this strategy to turn the tide of the battle, the creatures tasked with burrowing into the city must have something special about them.

As she pondered which type of mutated creatures would be capable of burrowing, she also searched the city.

After thinking for a while, she realized there were indeed many mutated creatures that could burrow.

The outer city walls were reinforced with extremely tough steel, so the mutated creatures would have to enter from underground.

Amalia circled the area but didn’t find any signs of activity.

Adjudant Calderón also reported that his search had found nothing.

Amalia instructed him to search again.

Although the first search yielded no results, Adjudant Calderón dared not ignore it.

Even if Amalia’s information wasn’t highly accurate, it was better to take the precaution than to risk missing something and causing a major incident.

The city was bustling with activity, and the sound of footsteps echoed everywhere.

Amalia stood on the steps, watching the soldiers run past.

Suddenly, she had an idea.

She took Wealth out of her bag, "Wealth, you can detect mineral veins. Can you hear any movements underground?"
