Chapter 418: Secret Plot (Part 1)
Kenny Lin chuckled, "You’ve been called out for your intelligence, so why are you so proud?"
Amalia cleared her throat.
Before Wealth could be too affected, she quickly asked, "Wealth, can you eat another piece now?"
Wealth’s sense of grievance quickly vanished as it eagerly nodded its head.
It ready to eat all the black fragments if needed.
It had no objections.
Amalia had a different opinion.
She did not intend to let Wealth eat all of them.
She gave it one more piece, and this time, Wealth seemed to have a stronger resistance to the black fragment.
While Wealth was absorbing the black fragment, Amalia was also busy.
She held a black fragment in her hand.
This substance had a huge attraction for mutated creatures, but curiously, not for humans.
The only thing they could feel was a surge of energy inside.
"Should we give it a try?" she asked.
Kenny Lin replied seriously, "It’s best not to. Obtaining these black fragments isn’t particularly difficult; the government has likely taken notice and may already be conducting research on it. If spiritual cultivators could absorb them, my family would have received the news and they wouldn’t be keeping it under wraps."
That made sense to Amalia as well, and she was cautious enough not to rry it.
"I have a thought: if mutated creatures like Wealth can be tamed, then these black fragments should have their uses, right?"
"As long as you’re not afraid of being attacked by your own pet," Kenny Lin shrugged, "Many people have had that kind of idea."
Wealth seemed like an exception.
Although it appeared intelligent, it was more of a simpleton and a glutton.
The two of them never tried to tame it; it just stuck close to them by itself, afraid they would abandon it.
"However..." Kenny Lin suddenly added, "there have been spiritual cultivators who tried. If you could successfully tame a powerful mutated creature or raise one from a young age, it would be equivalent to having an additional person of the same level. If you can think of it, others can too."
These words reminded Amalia of some unsettling things.
In the interstellar world of her past life, research that was driven by desire was not uncommon.
"Without absolute certainty, trying to tame a mutated creature by force or emotion will eventually backfire. Unless..."
Amalia heard him pause, "Unless what?"
"Unless there’s some method that allows the mutated creature to follow your commands completely and without question, such as a contract or something like that," Kenny Lin said, his turned expression mysterious.
"Is there such a thing?"
Amalia hadn’t come across anything like that in the Soltice Ring, except perhaps in the sealed gray area, which she still didn’t know how to unlock them.
"Who knows?" Kenny Lin shrugged, leaving the question hanging.
Fortunately, Amalia wasn’t particularly ambitious or greedy, or she might have been tempted to try it out.
Taming mutated creatures and making them obedient is enough to change the future landscape.
After the human powerhouse left, the Twilight Abyss Waters became completely quiet.
Lanyu and Manyu stayed for half a day, worried that the human powerhouse might return.
Once they were certain they had left, they gradually dispersed.
When Manyu went from being an ally to an opponent, he uncharacteristically left without taunting the Violent Obsidian Lindwyrm.
"You were different today," Lanyu teased him as he left.
Manyu scoffed, "He’s suffering heavy losses, and his territory is destroyed. If I provoke him, he might get emotional and fight me. I can’t be bothered."
Lanyu smiled.
The Violent Obsidian Lindwyrm transformed into human form, and the dark clouds hovering over the Twilight Abyss Waters gradually dissipated.
The sunlight pierced through and illuminated the ravaged Twilight Abyss Waters.
Imuji who is clad in a black robe and with a dark, somber expression, released waves of low pressure that kept his subordinates at bay.
"My Lord," the deep-sea creature had to approach him despite its hoarse voice.
"Quickly send people to clean up the Twilight Abyss Waters and restore it to its original state," Imuji’s voice was restrained with anger.
After speaking, he forcefully flicked his sleeve and leaped into the black pool.
After instructing his subordinates, the deep-sea creature also jumped in.
The bottom of the pool was calm, and everyone held their breath due to Imuji’s fury.
The large and magnificent castle sat quietly beneath the pool.
Glowing night pearls were embedded in rows on the castle, emitting a soft light.
The castle looked splendid, with no signs of the battle or theft that had occurred there.
"My Lord!"
The deep-sea creature called out as Imuji headed straight for the treasure trove upon descending.
Imuji didn’t turn around and went straight to the entrance of the treasure trove.
The deep-sea creature stopped at the door.
Soon, the sound of thr Violent Obsidian Lindwyrm’s angry roar echoed across the sky over Twilight Abyss Waters.
Imuji didn’t care about the stolen crystal cores or gold.
What he cared the most were the five small boxes that contained the black fragments, all of which were stolen.
"My Lord, please take care of your health," the deep-sea creature said with concern when he saw Imuji cough up black blood.
Imuji swallowed the remaining blood, and the veins bulged on his forehead, "Find those two humans and bring them to me. I want to tear them limb from limb with my own hands."
The deep-sea creature didn’t attempt to dissuade him.
He suspected the two humans had already left the central disaster zone, but to calm the master’s anger, he agreed immediately, "I will send someone to find them right away. For now, your main priority is to heal your injury so you can personally seek revenge."
The strength of that human powerhouse was quite odd.
Previously, when they were at the bottom of the pool, his cultivation level clearly weren’t at Tier 1, but within less than a day, he managed to reach it.
