Chapter 176: Selling Artifact To School (Part 2)

One of the most pleased was Isabella Xiao.

Because even before Amalia became famous, they had a good relationship.

Even her previously mocking companions genuinely admired her now, and believing she had foresight.

"Rasler, do you know what people have been saying recently in private?" Karina Wences walked into the classroom, and sat next to Rasler Yoder.

She then glanced nonchalantly towards the front where Amalia was surrounded by some classmates.

"What?" Rasler Yoder’s expression remained unchanged, and seemingly unaffected by recent events.

"They’re all saying that Amalia will soon replace you as the representative of the first-year artifact refining class," Karina Wences sneered.

"A wild monkey that suddenly appeared halfway through, thinking highly of itself and daring to replace you!"

Rasler Yoder chuckled softly, "With her current reputation, it’s not impossible. She does indeed have some abilities."

He no longer needed to test Amalia, not because he knew her true strength, but her performance had earned Professor Frans’s respect, so he was no longer needed to targeting her.

That, in itself, was the best response.

"We can’t let her replace you. We need to figure out a way to stop that," Karina Wences said with a sinister tone.

Aside from bringing prestige to Rasler Yoder, being the representative of the first-year class would attract more artificers around him, and there would be high chance to discover a potential talented student to be recruit into the yoder family.

Losing this status would have obvious consequences, just like with Kenny Lin and Zanilia Zhao.

While everyone acknowledged Zanilia Zhao’s prowess, with Kenny Lin who always overshadowing her, people’s reactions to Zanilia Zhao were not admiration but rather regret.

Rasler Yoder glanced at Amalia’s figure, while twirling his pen between his fingers.

Although he admitted she had some talent, he didn’t truly believe she could surpass him.

"There might be a way," he said.

Immediately, Karina Wences asked, "What way?"

Rasler Yoder lowered his chilling eyes, while held a smile that could sent people shivers, "Since everyone thinks she can surpass me, let her surpass me. Let’s see if she truly has that capability."

Karina Wences’s eyes widened as she quickly understood Rasler Yoder’s intention, "You mean to hype her up?"

Rasler Yoder nodded regally, "The higher the expectations, the greater the disappointment when she falls. What happens then, you should understand without me saying."

"I get it. No wonder you’re Rasler Yoder," Karina Wences’s eyes sparkled as she chuckled.

"This method is truly devious."

"Don’t use the wrong words. I’m just complying with everyone’s expectations," Rasler Yoder smiled.

"Sure, sure. Rasler Yoder is the kindest," Karina Wences nodded with a squinted smile.

After the afternoon class, the sun was setting in the west, and painting the sky with crimson hues of the evening glow, casting the school in a golden-red haze.

Golden leaves fluttered down through the tree branches’ gaps.

Walking amidst the sunset, Amalia’s elongated shadow exuded an impressive height of two meters and eight centimeters.

"Amalia." Isabella Xiao chased after her, panting.

Amalia turned around, and frowning at her.

Lately, Isabella Xiao had been sticking close to her, always hovering around whenever she had the chance.

It made her uncomfortable.

Suddenly having someone constantly observing her life felt unsettling.

"Where are you going?" Isabella Xiao blinked with her large and bright eyes.

Amalia intended to go to the training room, but as the words were about to leave her mouth, she involuntarily changed her mind. "Back to the dormitory for refining artifact."

"Can I come to observe?" Isabella Xiao’s question was blunt.

Usually, if an artificer didn’t extend an invitation, asking directly might imply an intention to learn secretly.

However, she believed her relationship with Amalia was different, so her tone was casual.

Amalia didn’t share the same sentiment as her.

She then replied as direct as her, "You cannot."

Isabella Xiao’s smile stiffened, and trying to lighten the situation, "Why? Are you afraid that I’ll secretly learn from you? Don’t you trust me?"

Amalia remained silent, while looking at her.

Under her gaze, Isabella Xiao grew increasingly uncomfortable.

Finally, she relented, "Forget it. I won’t disturb your artifact refining. I just remembered that I have something to do at the dormitory. Can we go together?"

Amalia didn’t want her to tag along.

If she mentioned going to the training room, she might follow her.

So, shr reluctantly nodded in agreement.

Both of them returned to their separate dormitories.

Before Amalia entered her room, Isabella Xiao called out to her once more.

"Amalia, will you stay in the dormitory tonight? Is there anywhere you’d like to go?" Isabella Xiao paused and added, "The exams are coming up in a couple of days. Professor Frans mentioned last-minute cramming isn’t necessary. If you want to go out, I can take you to relax somewhere."

"No need. If you want to go, go by yourself," Amalia declined, while shaking her head.

"Okay then." Isabella Xiao didn’t insist.

She watched her enter the room, closed the door, and left a while later.

As Amalia heard her departing footsteps, before stepping out, she dialed Kenny Lin’s communication number.

After a couple of rings, he answered.

His breathtakingly handsome face immediately appeared on the holographic screen.

From the holographic screen, Amalia saw Kenny Lin was walking outside anf surrounded by dense forests.

"Have you reached the new disaster zone?"

"Just arrived," Kenny Lin remained as taciturn as ever, as if the person who had spoken so much before was a figment of imagination.

"Turn the camera over, let me have a look," Amalia suddenly requested.

Kenny Lin adjusted the holographic screen in the opposite direction, his figure disappeared, and then replaced by a vast expanse of forest.

Dark clouds loomed overhead, suggesting an unfavorable weather.

The entrance appeared ominously dark, hinting at something discomforting, and conveying an unsettling premonition.

"So, this is what they call a disaster zone?" Amalia remember from the data that previous disaster zones is used to be cities.

If this was the new disaster zone, the change seemed too rapid.
