Chapter 147: Showdown (Part 1)
Marcello Yoder shrugged, "Well, I also feel the same, but what if he has other plans?"
The first-year battle match wasn’t a big deal, it could only attracting only a few spectators, and mostly of them is from first-year students, with a handful people from the second year student, all of thrm were drawn in by the forum’s arguments.
At Heavenly Path University, among the most prominent figures were Zanilia Zhao and Kenny Lin’s generation, where talents flourished and even minor events could caused a stir across the campus.
The current first-year students, although somewhat talented, they still lacked the experience to compete for attention against the senior students.
However, Sebastian Caceres stood out among the first-year male spirit cultivators, and possessing considerable strength and a follower.
Encouraged by his admirers and fervent fans, many first-year students choose to came and watch the match.
Most of them were supporting Sebastian Caceres.
Before Amalia arrived, the area around the showdown was already packed with people.
Sebastian Caceres’s fans cheered his name loudly boosting Sebastian Caceres’s momentum.
"Amalia will surely lose! Sebastian will win!" The president of Sebastian Caceres’s fan club, a girl with a red scarf tied around her head, was shouting at the top of her lungs.
Surrounding her, were both boys and girls who joined in the loud cheering, and some of them even come with contorted expressions.
"Can you believe this class 9’s student dared to offend Sebastian Caceres? If she loses this upcoming showdown, she might not have a place at Heavenly Path University anymore."
The onlookers watched this grand spectacle and couldn’t help but marvel.
"Well, maybe not. Those class 9 troublemakers have thick skin; they might act like nothing happened the next day."
"So many people dislike class 9’s Amalia? I actually think if she dares to challenge, she might have some skills that people haven’t noticed."
"Her challenge post on the forum seemed quite domineering; who knows, maybe she’ll turn the tables when people least expect it."
"Forget it, if she really had skills, would she be in class 9? I don’t believe it, anyway."
"..."
Even the onlookers were chattering away when, at that moment, a steady procession of footsteps approached closer.
Before they heard the sound, they saw, in the direction of the teaching building, dozens of neatly dressed individuals coming their way.
Each had their distinct characteristics—some seemed lazy, some careless, some sharp as a knife, others wild and untamed.
Although they were diverse in appearance, they collectively exuded an overwhelming and assertive aura.
"Whoa, is this still the class 9 I know?" Someone blurted out.
"Clearly... not? Sorry, I can’t lie with my eyes open," another responded.
"Is class 9 undergoing a complete transformation?"
"Remember the rumor before? A few from class 3 picked on Amalia from 9, and they all ended up with faces like pigs. People from class 3 later claimed they lost to class 9 because the have few people compared to class 9 . But, If class 9 used to be like that, I’d say that rumor might be true."
"Impossible, it’s been less than half a month this semester. Even with a transformation, it can’t change this much."
"Well, the momentum looks good, i wonder how much rehearsal they did."
"Right, definitely rehearsed."
"..."
Sebastian Caceres’s admirers and devoted fans comforted themselves.
"Everyone, perform well today. We can’t hold back Amalia; if anyone does, you can voluntarily dig a hole and bury yourself," Elena Sandoval ordered on the spot.
"Don’t worry, Elena. I’d embarrass my parents before I embarrass Amalia."
"Yeah, later, let’s crush anyone and fight against Sebastian Caceres."
Satisfied, Elena Sandoval nodded, "Good, let’s keep this momentum. One last time, is everything prepared?"
"Of course, everything’s ready. Each one’s been assigned; if we still can’t deal with them, I’ll write Douglas Valentina’s name backward," a boy chuckled sinisterly.
"Amalia’s here." Suddenly, Mighel Zepeda stood up, his eyes gleaming in a particular direction.
"There’s Amalia, looking as beautiful as usual today."
"Amalia, stunning as ever."
"..."
Looking at a group of boys who adoring Amalia foolishly elicited disgusted expressions from Sebastian Caceres’s fans.
What disgusted them more was yet to come.
As Amalia entered the showdown area, the class 9 group suddenly pulled out megaphones, and each of them holding one.
"Go, Amalia! Amalia will win, the Sebastian bastard will lose!"
Deafening and resonating, dozens of people, equipped with numerous megaphones, echoed the voice and aura of hundreds of people.
Sebastian Caceres’s fans went mad.
This bunch from class 9 dared to insult their Sebastian.
So, even before the involved parties arrived, the audience section is already initiated a fierce verbal battle.
Class 9’s troublemakers, since everyone calls them that, they were naturally fear nothing and can hurl any offensive words.
But considering Advisor Mighel’s advice not to cause trouble for Amalia, they still restrained themselves considerably.
However, even the tiny bit that slipped through their restraint was enough to embarrass Sebastian Caceres’s fans, leaving them red-faced and inflated with anger.
Amalia timed her entrance perfectly, and so did her opponent.
She intentionally arriving at the last moment, together with Sebastian Caceres.
Seeing that Amalia was also perfectly timed like him, he gave her a disgusted expression, thinking that she deliberately timed her arrival to create momentum for herself.
The audience’s attention split into two sides, disrupting Sebastian Caceres’s plan, which had to be aborted.
His expression turned increasingly unpleasant as he stood on the showdown stage, and looking down on Amalia as she approached him.
"Today, I won’t hold back. If you want mercy, now’s your chance. But I might not agree unless you kneel down in front of everyone, and admit that you’re trash. Perhaps then I’ll consider letting you off."
"Good timing, I was just about to say that, today I won’t hold back," Amalia wrapped the white bandage that fell off from her wrist back into place.
"Stubborn mouth. I want to see if your strength matches with your bold words. I’ll reclaim all the past shame in this showdown!"
Sebastian Caceres’s face darkened suddenly, and began to exuding an aura that matching with a peak level 5 rank.
He aggressively pushed his aura towards Amalia.
Despite taking the initiative to put pressure on Amalia, under his imposing aura, she still remained unmoved.
She even taking a few steps to the right as if she was casually strolling.
"We’re all at the peak level 5 rank. These petty tricks aren’t necessary," Amalia said casually.
