Chapter 141: Accepted The Challenge
[ 206th Comment: "I’ve tolerated you brain-deads for too long. If not for Mighel restraining me, I’d have made you kneel and call me daddy long ago. How much benefit did that bastard Sebastian Caceres give you?" ]
...
The originally fiery post quickly escalated into an intense argument between two sides.
The situation was quite similar to the fan war between Kenny Lin and Zanilia Zhao fans.
Upon seeing the comments regarding herself, without waiting for their identities to be revealed, Amalia immediately suspected it was the group from Class 9 who is notorious for their outspoken nature.
She was surprised that they would come forward to defend her.
Observing their aggressive manner of insult, it seemed they more like blind fanaticism than even Sebastian Caceres’s fans.
Looking at the timing of their outburst, it occurred just half an hour after the post was made.
This incident had to be traced back to yesterday when Amalia was in the midst of her medicinal bath.
Elena Sandoval usually liked to browse the school forum for any new information and unexpectedly stumbled upon Sebastian Caceres issuing a challenge.
Challenging Amalia wasn’t a big deal, especially considering Elena Sandoval was already a devoted fan of Amalia.
After just three sessions of guidance from Analia, their entire class’s improvement was undeniably evident.
What could be more convincing than that?
Why would Elena Sandoval have any reason to doubt Amalia’s strength?
If Amalia could help them, a group of seemingly hopeless individuals, progress so significantly in just over a week, she firmly believed Amalia could overpower Sebastian Caceres without a doubt.
As Elena Sandoval scrolled through the posts, she found herself inwardly hoping that Amaliaa would accept Sebastian Caceres’s challenge, and give a certain arrogant person a profound lesson.
But to her dismay, she discovered a flood of praises for Sebastian Caceres and insults directed at Amalia ehich fueling her anger.
Elena Sandoval’s fury resulted in the entire Class 9 also being furious.
Fortunately, there was someone relatively level-headed, that person being Mighel Zepeda, who immediately stopped their impulsive actions.
"Do you want to make things difficult for Amalia?" Mighel Zepeda intervened.
"Rash actions are what rash people do. If it were just us, we could act and speak however we wanted. But this involves Amalia, and our impulsiveness won’t help."
"So, what does Advisor Mighel suggest we do?" Elena Sandoval who speaking on behalf of everyone, humbly asked for advice.
Mighel Zepeda chuckled, "First, civility, then strength. Let’s first demonstrate our refinement. For example, kindly explain our stance. When bystanders compare both sides’ responses, it’ll surely diminish Sebastian Caceres’s image."
"Advisor Mighel makes a lot of sense. But how do we go about civility then strength?" Elena Sandoval nodded vigorously.
"It’s simple. Look at how I respond," Mighel Zepeda then opened Sebastian Caceres’s challenge post and scrolled to the bottom to reply, "Just like this, ’Let me share some info. Amalia from Class 9 does indeed look very beautiful. I’ve seen it myself, not much different from Zanilia Zhao’s appearance. However, she usually keeps a low profile, and focuses on hrr studies without offending or bothering anyone, so few people know who she really is.’"
"See, my tone is polite enough, right? It won’t attract negativity towards Amalia."
Elena Sandoval and the others glanced at it and said, "..."
Elana Sandoval: "... Advisor Mighel, someone in the 202nd comment called ’Amalia Dog’."
"Damn it!" Mighel Zepeda instantly erupted.
As the post refreshed, Mighel Zepeda’s lightning-fast hands fired off two more replies, emphasizing the offensive words in bold red font, and intensifying the provocative language to an extreme level.
Seeing the two big red words, everyone felt embarrassed.
Who was it that said we should act civility first?
"I really hate long-winded explanations. I don’t care anymore, I’m going in too. Advisor Mighel’s right, Sebastian Caceres deserves it, he’s just a terrible person. Let’s do this!" Immediately, someone echoed and rolled up their sleeves to join in.
Thus began the epic battle as witnessed later by Amalia.
These fools, their replies disappeared afterward.
Seems like something went wrong.
Amalia arrived at Class 9 and unsurprisingly saw Instructor Waldo lecturing.
People were chattering, and completely ignoring her.
It seemed like the obedience from a few days ago was short-lived.
However, the room fell silent immediately the moment they noticed her presence.
Instructor Waldo turned his head with both annoyed and unsurprised expression when he saw Amalia standing there.
He knew only Amalia who could get these unruly students to listen.
"You’re here. As you can see I can’t handle them. It’s up to you. Even if you’re standing up for yourself, you can’t use such harsh words. Adding bold, enlarging, and coloring them so aggressively. I’ve from Class 1 home teacher that Sebastian Caceres crying so hard because of the bullying. You guys has going to far."
Amalia entered the podium, and Instructor Waldo instinctively made way for her.
It had become a reflex after a few times.
Class 9 looked at her anxiously, some of them already lowering their heads.
Like Mighel Zepeda, for example.
By the time he snapped out from the fan-war frenzy, it was too late.
Feeling a wave of despair, he remembered they were supposed to act civility first, but he led the charge into insults, casting the first shadow of violence, and triggering even more chaos.
He couldn’t face Amalia anymore.
Amalia glanced at the suddenly timid group, and her gaze did not stay on the guilty Mighel Zepeda for long.
Once she settled, she said, "I’ve seen what was said on the forum, by them and by you. You all..."
"Surely, it’s going to be criticism next," Mighel Zepeda thought in despair.
Beside him, Elena Sandoval comforted him with a pat on the back, "Don’t worry, we’ll face this together."
"You’ve done well. Respect is mutual. As a daring cultivator, it’s not about constantly retreating, but about the courage to move forward. The limits aren’t about concession but also about self-restraint. Your restraint for a friend is both courageous and loyal. I appreciate you standing up for me. But doing well doesn’t mean it’s right. Let the Instructor Waldo address you this," Amalia concluded before returning to her seat.
Instantly, the classroom erupted in enthusiastic applause.
Instructor Waldo: "..."
Gosh! She didn’t say any crucial words at all.
It’s not different from not saying anything at all.
These kids...
Well, seeing them this happy and united, Instructor Waldo decided to let them off this time.
However, what needed to be said had to be said.
Class 9 endured a full hour of earful from the Instructor Waldo.
Their eardrums must have been at least ten centimeters thick by now.
Once Instructor Waldo left, everyone eagerly crowded around Amalia.
"Amalia, are you going to accept the challenge?"
"Sebastian Caceres is too arrogant. Those insults against you earlier were instigated by his admirers."
"Not only that, he’s also using paid followers to manipulate the situation. Otherwise, this post wouldn’t have quickly escalated into a hot topic. He’s pulling the strings behind the scenes," one person asserted.
"The Instructor is really foolish, believing anything that comes from some corner. That bastard Sebastian Caceres didn’t cry at all. He’s still cursing you, saying he’ll tear you apart," another added.
"Yeah, I have a friend in Class 2. They heard Sebastian Caceres telling someone, ’This challenge match is meant to end your life,’ as if it were a gift for someone. Unfortunately, they didn’t catch the name clearly."
"Ah, you might as well have kept quiet."
...
The group was in a buzz of chatter.
Amalia raised a hand, and immediately silencing everyone.
"Accepting the challenge is a definite must. After all, when a dog come to your doorstep, you need to welcome it," Amalia’s eyes flashed coldly.
"Hail to Amalia, this is the perfect opportunity to show Class 1 how we, from Class 9, will crush their so-called geniuses," Elena Sandoval cheered, making it sound as if Amalia had Sebastian Caceres underfoot.
As if Amalia success was also their success too.
So, the afternoon of the second day after the post was made:
A new thread emerged on Heavenly Path University’s forum, and prohibiting any replies, with just one sentence in bold red font: "I, Amalia Vanquez, as you wish, I’ll accept the challenge!"
...
—— "I’m Amalia Vanquez. As you wish, I’ll accept the challege!"
Sebastian Caceres stared at the holographic screen.
The glaring red text stinging his eyes, and reminding him of something he was trying to forget.
The unstoppable memory of yesterday persisted in his mind.
His challenge post had two bold, enlarged, and red-highlighted words.
Those people from class 9 had dared... dared to cursed and insult him, right in front of so many forum-goers!
He swore to avenge this humiliation during the challenge.
If he dont’t give them a lesson, he wouldn’t calling himself Sebastian Caceres!
"Sebastian, great! She finally accepted the challenge," exclaimed Ximena Quinones.
However, when she saw the color of the challenge post and remember what happend yesterday, she wisely avoided mentioning it to Sebastian Caceres since it was his sore spot, and shifting the topic with a tone of joy.
"She has to accept it, even if she doesn’t want to! Otherwise, the whole school will think she’s a coward," Sebastian Caceres feeling slightly better, and determined to crush the one who had shamed him on that day.
Ximena Quinones immediately breathed a sigh of relief.
If Sebastian Caceres had still harbored resentment, he might have directed it towards her, considering she was the one who proposed the idea in the first place.
Since that day, after she digging herself a hole, Amalia hadn’t logged in even once.
Day after day, she waited but saw no sign of Amalia.
Later, she stopped waiting and focused solely on training in the practice room.
But this wasn’t a sustainable solution.
She could deceive Sebastian Caceres into thinking she was online, but she couldn’t deceive the world forever.
If her act was exposed one day, it would be disastrous.
So, she devised another plan, and encouraging Sebastian Caceres to post a challenge to Amalia, hoping it would alleviate her embarrassment.
