Chapter 1251: The Reckoning

A sudden unease crept into Soham’s heart when he saw how casually they conversed, as if none of this was a threat to them.

The next moment, his fears were confirmed.

Kenny Lin extended his hand, and all the incoming attacks condensed into a single point of light before vanishing entirely—along with all of his men.

Before their very eyes, the men had disappeared, and not a single one of them had even seen how it happened.

Realizing how dire the situation was, Soham turned around and ran out without hesitation.

But Kenny Lin wouldn’t let him escape so easily.

With the sheer force of his late-stage Deity Transformation aura pressing down, Soham found himself frozen in place, unable to move.

Terror filled his expression.

The crushing presence made his scalp tingle—it was the kind of power only a true master possessed.

Even his boss couldn’t exert such pressure with aura alone.

Only now did Soham understand—Lagan hadn’t lured a helpless sheep into a pack of wolves.

He had led a lion into a flock of sheep.

His hatred for Lagan surged.

How could that fool bring someone this terrifying into their headquarters?

Behind him, explosions roared, sending shattered remains flying.

A severed limb landed near his feet, still clad in the uniform of one of his subordinates.

"I gave you a chance," a voice, laced with laughter, murmured behind him.

Soham’s skin crawled as he instinctively thought it was directed at him.

But before he could react, Lagan’s desperate cries rang out first.

"I was wrong! Please, spare me! I’ll never dare oppose you again! I swear I’ll disappear! If you want information on the Holy Gate of the Heaven and the Earth, I can help you find it! I know people—lots of them! They must know something..." Lagan collapsed to the ground, snot and tears running down his face.

Any thought of resistance had long since left him.

"I don’t need someone who thinks too much," Kenny Lin said coolly.

With a snap of his fingers, Lagan’s body exploded.

His severed head, perfectly intact, rolled to a stop at Soham’s feet, their eyes meeting.

Soham had always found Lagan irritating, but now, looking into his lifeless eyes, he felt no joy at his death—only dread.

"It’s your turn."

The voice whispered right beside his ear, and a chill ran down his spine.

"I submit!" Soham shouted without hesitation.

He understood all too well—that last sentence hadn’t been meant for Lagan alone.

A few minutes ago, Soham received a message from Lagan and immediately sent someone to inform the boss.

However, the messenger was stopped outside by Lal Hiran’s personal bodyguards.

Before entering, Lal Hiran had strictly ordered that no one was to disturb them.

No matter how much the messenger pleaded, the guards refused to let him pass.

It wasn’t until the explosion from the meeting room echoed through the halls that the tightly shut doors finally swung open, and Lal Hiran’s towering, muscular frame stepped out.

"What the hell is going on?" Lal Hiran demanded, his face twisted in fury.

"Chairman, something bad has happened! Warden Soham sent me to inform you—Lagan was taken hostage by two cultivators, and they’ve barged into the Neon Azure Syndicate demanding to see you. I came here on Warden Soham’s orders, but your men wouldn’t let me in," the messenger quickly clarified before Lal Hiran’s rage could turn on him.

At that moment, a young man also stepped out of the room. "It seems Chairman Lal has pressing matters to attend to. I’ll come back another time."

The young man had narrow eyes, a cap pulled low over his face, and a gaze that shone with a venomous glint, like a serpent’s.

"I’ll handle this right away," Lal Hiran said immediately.

The young man waved his hand dismissively. "Forget it. Anyone who dares to storm into your territory like this isn’t ordinary. Who knows how long it’ll take you to deal with them? I’ll come back another time."

"Wait..." Lal Hiran wasn’t willing to postpone the meeting.

Although he had a way to contact this person, their meetings weren’t always on schedule.

Sometimes, if the other party didn’t want to come, Lal Hiran could only wait passively.

Before he could finish speaking, the sound of footsteps echoed from the corridor.

Moments later, the source of those footsteps stepped into view.

Amalia saw them.

And they saw Amalia.

"Who are you?" Lal Hiran’s face darkened as he connected the approaching figure to the earlier explosion.

Amalia ignored Lal Hiran and instead fixed an unwavering gaze on the young man.

"Are you a member of the Holy Gate of the Heaven and the Earth?" she asked, her eyes settling on the partially visible totem at the back of his neck.

The young man’s smile vanished.

His expression turned icy as he stared at Amalia.

He neither confirmed nor denied it.

"Lal Hiran, what’s going on?"

Very few people knew of his presence in the Neon Azure Syndicate—only Lal Hiran and his most trusted subordinates.

Lal Hiran would never betray him.

Doing so would not only bring the wrath of the Holy Gate of the Heaven and the Earth upon him but also alert the ’Pleiadian Ascendancy’ faction.

However, his subordinates were a different story.

If one of them had ambitions for the chairman’s position, it wouldn’t be surprising if they betrayed him.

Lal Hiran wanted answers just as much.

"You’re from the Pleiadian Ascendancy faction?" The young man’s eyes gleamed with malice.

His muscles tensed, ready to strike at any moment.

He spoke as if he knew the Pleiadian Ascendancy faction well, but in truth, just as the Pleiadian Ascendancy faction was familiar with the Holy Gate of the Heaven and the Earth, the Holy Gate of the Heaven and the Earth also had deep knowledge of the Pleiadian Ascendancy faction.

"I’m not with the Pleiadian Ascendancy faction. Are you a member of the Holy Gate of the Heaven and the Earth?" Amalia asked seriously.
