Chapter 1250: Into the Lion’s Den

Chapter 1250: Into the Lion’s Den

Whether they liked him or not, they all did it—because he was the boss’s brother-in-law.

Lagan’s sister was currently favored by the boss, and if they offended him, he could have her whisper a few words into the boss’s ear, which would spell trouble for them.

But today, Lagan seemed to have a twitching eye.

He kept frantically winking at people as they passed, like he was having a spasm.

Some even joked about what was wrong with his eye.

When Kenny Lin let out a light chuckle, Lagan was so terrified that he immediately stopped all his little signals.

"You two immortals wait here. I’ll go see if my brother-in-law is finished speaking with his guests." Lagan brought them to the reception room, speaking with an obedient smile before turning to leave.

"Make sure to also tell him that you were being threatened by us," a lazy voice sounded from behind.

Lagan froze on the spot and immediately turned around with a forced smile. "You misunderstand, Mr. Immortals! I would never tell my brother-in-law anything about you!"

"Then all that blinking along the way—was that because of sand in your eyes?" Kenny Lin asked with a smirk. "You seemed so happy doing it that I didn’t bother to remind you. How do they feel now? Much better?"

He gave Lagan an exaggerated wink.

Lagan panicked.

He hadn’t expected them to see through him.

But in just a moment, he calmed down.

The fear disappeared from his face, replaced by a mocking gaze. "Do you two even realize whose territory you’re standing in right now?"

"Of course we do. Lal Hiran. Isn’t he your brother-in-law? Or were you lying to us?" Kenny Lin replied with a relaxed smile while leaning back in his chair with an air of superiority.

"If you know this is Lal Hiran’s place, then you should also know you won’t be walking out of here!" Lagan sneered. "I didn’t expect you to be so stupid as to follow me all the way here. My brother-in-law is the infamous leader of the Neon Azure Syndicate in the underground city. With a single command, he can summon thousands of cultivators to his side. Right now, you’re nothing more than fish in a barrel. If you surrender, I might leave your corpses intact. Otherwise, I will have your skins peeled and your tendons ripped out to avenge my humiliation!"

Kenny Lin chuckled and turned to Amalia. "See? People like him need to be dealt with more harshly. Otherwise, they’re like venomous snakes that have lost their fangs—still thinking they can bite."

Amalia withdrew her divine sense. "Found him. He’s in a sealed room. A middle-aged man wearing a thick gold chain around his neck—should be Lal Hiran. There’s a young man standing across from him. Not sure if he’s part of the Holy Gate of the Heaven and the Earth or not."

"Then let’s cut to the chase. People like this only understand the language of fists." Kenny Lin glanced at Lagan, whose face was once again filled with terror, and smirked. "Tell me—if we knew this was your brother-in-law’s base, why would we still follow you here?"

Lagan hadn’t known before, but now he understood—these two had never taken his brother-in-law’s Neon Azure Syndicate seriously.

He wasn’t sure if they had met his brother-in-law before, but the mention of the thick gold chain was accurate—Lal Hiran did wear one all the time.

As for the young man, maybe they had made that up.

How could someone outside possibly see into a sealed room?

Yes, they must have been bluffing.

Just then, the sound of footsteps came from outside.

Lagan immediately knew—it had to be Soham, who had caught on and surrounded the reception room.

His courage swelled.

These people weren’t just a bunch of hired thugs but actual cultivators, ones who had survived countless deadly encounters alongside his brother-in-law.

At that moment, Soham stepped inside, his gaze dark and cold as it landed on Amalia and Kenny Lin. "A lot of people want to see the boss," he said. "The question is—will you live long enough to see him?"

"Brother Soham, did you bring everyone?" Lagan immediately retreated to Soham’s side.

"I called in everyone I could," Soham replied before narrowing his eyes at Lagan. "These two were threatening you?"

Lagan’s face twisted with rage. "They didn’t just threaten me—they killed a bunch of my men! I want them dead!"

Soham fixed a cold, snake-like gaze on the two of them and let out a chilling laugh. "No need to rush. You’re both trapped in a jar now—we have all the time in the world. So tell me, what exactly is your purpose for coming here?"

"The person your boss is meeting right now—who is he? Is he a member of the Holy Gate of the Heaven and the Earth?" Amalia asked calmly in return.

Soham didn’t answer.

He guessed that they were either targeting his boss or were members of the Holy Gate of the Heaven and the Earth themselves.

As Lal Hiran’s trusted right-hand man, he was well aware that his boss had dealings with a Holy Gate of the Heaven and the Earth member.

These two were clearly not here with good intentions.

Soham took a step back and gave a sharp order. "Take them down."

Immediately, a group of armed men charged into the room, all well-equipped and ready for battle.

Leading the group were several Foundation Building stage cultivators, their combined aura surging forth as they attempted to suppress the intruders with sheer force.

Energy cannons and particle rifles fired from all directions.

Despite being cultivators, these men seemed to favor advanced technology.

Multicolored lights flashed wildly as they unleashed their attacks.

"This side’s yours. I’m going to find Lal Hiran and that other man," Amalia said, glancing at Kenny Lin.

"Go ahead. I’ll make sure not a single one of them follows you or gets in your way."

Kenny Lin waved a hand dismissively, as if he was actually glad to see Amalia leave so he could deal with this on his own.
