Chapter 1235: Hidden Depths

"You certainly have a way with words," Kenny Lin remarked, his tone teasing. "You turned fear into respect—it does sound better that way."

Chandra’s eye twitched slightly, and the poised mask of composure he prided himself on nearly cracked.

He had not heard that this Mr. Kenny had such a sharp tongue.

His words were blunt and cut straight to the bone.

"Mr. Chandra, if you have something to say, just say it," Amalia said directly.

There was no need for empty pleasantries—it depended on the person she was dealing with.

"I heard that the Erythar Star System has recently gained one... no, two powerful cultivators," Chandra said, correcting himself mid-sentence. "I wished to meet you both in person."

He paused for a moment before continuing, "The meeting with the alien royals is scheduled for seven days from now. Before that, would the two immortals be interested in discussing cultivation with me?"

Amalia listened with interest and asked, "Mr. Chandea, do you serve the Crimson Moon Dynasty Royal Court?"

"That’s correct." Chandra admitted it without hesitation.

"We’re new here. Why don’t you tell me about the cultivation system in the Crimson Moon Dynasty?"

Chandra was surprised. "The two immortals have never been to the Pleiades Star System before?"

"Is that a problem?" Amalia asked calmly.

"Of course not. It’s just that cultivators like us don’t tend to be confined to one region. Anyone who has visited the Pleiades Star System would naturally learn about this—it’s not exactly a secret," Chandra said without hesitation.

"The Pleiades Star System has a primary cultivator association called ’Pleiadian Ascendancy.’ Pleiadian Ascendancy is a faction that operates under the direct command of the Crimson Moon Dynasty Royal Court and plays a significant role in this cosmic war. It is led by twelve elders and nine of them whom are the members of the royal family..."

In short, the Pleiadian Ascendancy originated from the royal court, and its members were carefully selected to serve the Crimson Moon Dynasty.

Besides this, there were smaller factions formed by independent cultivators, though they also remained under the Crimson Moon Dynasty’s control.

While the cultivation system in the Pleiades Star System was not entirely refined, the royal court’s management of cultivators was crystal clear.

Unlike in the Erythar Star System, where 99% of cultivators were free from oversight and could form their own factions—some of them even posing a threat to the Crimson Moon Dynasty’s rule.

Chandra was willing to share whatever information he could.

Amalia compared this to the recent actions of the Crimson Moon Dynasty and found the contrast in Chandra’s openness rather striking.

"Mr. Chandra, you’re quite forthcoming—not like the others who pretend to know nothing. Just getting past the gate felt like clearing five rounds of deadly trials," Amalia remarked.

A hint of embarrassment flashed across Chandra’s face. "I apologize if that left a bad impression."

"It sure was amusing. So, how is the probing going?" Kenny Lin drawled lazily.

"You must be joking, Mr. Kenny." Chandra nearly lost his composure this time.

Before Kenny Lin could take things further, Amalia subtly signaled him with her eyes, stopping him just in time. "He’s just teasing you, Mr. Chandra. Don’t mind him."

Kenny Lin arched an eyebrow but said nothing more.

"The two immortals really have good relationship ," Chandra noted thoughtfully.

Amalia simply smiled without responding.

"Well then, I won’t take up any more of your time."

Understanding that patience was key, Chandra chose to retreat for now.

Once he left, the surrounding guests deliberately kept their distance from Amalia and Kenny Lin.

Meanwhile...

Unbeknownst to the guests, the Crimson Snake Sovereign had quietly left the banquet hall and entered a sealed chamber on the upper floor.

A large screen occupied the room, displaying a live feed of the banquet hall.

Standing before the screen was a young man.

Although he appeared to be in his mid-twenties, the Crimson Snake Sovereign’s attitude toward him was filled with reverence.

"Teacher, what do you think of them?" the Crimson Snake Sovereign asked as he approached the young man.

The screen zoomed in, displaying Amalia and Kenny Lin’s figures.

Despite his youthful appearance, the man had already lived for several centuries.

He was not only the mentor of the current Crimson Snake Sovereign but had also taught the previous ruler.

The young man gently shook his head.

The Crimson Snake Sovereign’s heart sank. "Even you, Teacher, can’t see through his cultivation level?"

"This person’s cultivation is not low, and his perception is keen. I did not dare get too close, so I was unable to discern his true level. However, if he were weaker than me, I would have seen through him even from a distance."

"Even you can’t see through him... Could he be using some kind of technique?" The Crimson Snake Sovereign had always believed that his teacher was the strongest person in the universe.

"That’s possible, but it’s also highly likely that his cultivation surpasses mine. You already know about Jaime’s case."

Hearing this, the Crimson Snake Sovereign’s expression darkened.

Jaime was a member of the Pleiadian Ascendancy, at the Foundation Building stage.

While the Golden Core stage was indeed powerful, knocking him unconscious purely with aura suppression—something even the young man himself couldn’t easily do—was an entirely different level.

Kenny Lin had only given a small display of his strength, yet it was enough to make them wary.

As an emperor, the Crimson Snake Sovereign was more concerned with his Crimson Moon Dynasty’s reputation than anything else.

Although he had dabbled in cultivation, governing a nation left him with little time for serious practice, so he couldn’t fully grasp the disparity in power.

"In any case, until we uncover their true background and cultivation, we must not act recklessly. Treat them with courtesy for now, and keep your subordinates in check. Any petty tricks will be completely useless against them."

The Crimson Snake Sovereign didn’t trust many people, but his teacher was one of the few exceptions.
