Chapter 1211: Envoys and Egos

Amalia was pleased. "Good. Take your time—we’ve got plenty of it."

"So tonight..." Kenny Lin gave her a suggestive look, his eyes already gleaming with mischief.

Amalia pretended not to notice it.

A while later, Sharif came looking for them with news: A massive battleship from the Pleiades Star System had arrived at the Erythar Star System and was now heading straight for Planet Veloxia.

It was expected to arrive within two days.

Whether the envoys from the Pleiades Star System came with goodwill or ill intentions, the Draconis Empire was no longer too concerned.

Life carried on as usual—people ate, drank, and worked just like they always did.

Two days later, in the afternoon, the sun had already dipped halfway below the horizon.

The sky was painted with a vast expanse of red clouds, half gray, half crimson.

A massive battleship appeared openly in the skies above Planet Veloxia, as if declaring its overwhelming authority.

Th humans on Planet Veloxia stepped out of their buildings, looking up at the battleship.

However, they quickly returned to what they were doing.

Having already witnessed the battleships of the alien invaders, this battleship—once the pinnacle of Andromeda Universe’s military might—now seemed rather ordinary in comparison.

Onboard the massive battleship, Jaime relished the brief moment of shock on the humans’ faces.

As a member of the so-called "higher" class of humanity, he naturally carried a sense of superiority.

But that satisfaction lasted only a short while before it faded.

The star screen displayed that the humans below did not seem particularly awed by the arrival of the massive battleship.

After a brief glance, they simply looked away as if it were nothing of concern.

"What’s with these humans? They don’t even seem surprised," Jaime frowned.

"It does seem that way," Miralles responded, though he didn’t find it particularly

concerning.

He operated the star screen to analyze Planet Veloxia and found evidence of alien bombardment.

However, the damage did not appear to be catastrophic.

"We haven’t seen many aliens on our way here."

"Maybe they’re somewhere else right now," Jaime dismissed the thought.

"Maybe," Miralles agreed.

Otherwise, the odds of Planet Veloxia surviving an assault from alien battleships seemed nearly impossible.

"We should head down now," Miralles reminded him. "Go wake that guy up—he’s been asleep long enough."

"What a bore."

Jaime clicked his tongue in annoyance before leaving to fetch the other member of their delegation.

The royal court of the Draconis Empire had already been informed of the Pleiades Star System’s battleship arrival well in advance.

The entire palace remained eerily quiet—until the smaller spacecraft descended.

As Miralles and Jaime stepped off their battleship, they were greeted at the palace entrance by Minister Sharif, whose demeanor carried an air of authority.

They momentarily mistook him for the Emperor, as his presence exuded the commanding aura of a ruler.

"You’re the Emperor of the Draconis Empire?" Jaime walked up to Minister Sharif, looking down at him with a mocking gaze, his tone tinged with mild disdain.

"You must be joking, Your Excellency. I am Sharif Valencia, the cabinet minister of the Draconis Empire. You may simply address me as Minister Sharif," Sharif replied with an easygoing smile, his face betraying no hint of displeasure.

Jaime’s expression darkened immediately. "Is your Emperor looking down on us?"

"Why would Your Excellency say such a thing? His Majesty would never disrespect three esteemed envoys who have traveled from afar," Sharif continued to smile with practiced ease.

Jaime let out a cold snort. "If your Emperor truly respects us, why hasn’t he come to greet us in person?"

Sharif’s face showed a faint trace of surprise. "Are you suggesting, Your Excellency, that your own emperor personally greets every foreign envoy?"

"Outrageous! How can you even compare our emperor to your Emperor?" Jaime’s expression darkened, his face twisting with disdain. "Our emperor is of unparalleled nobility, while your so-called Emperor—pardon my bluntness—is nothing more than a ruler on the brink of losing his Empire!"

"I must respectfully disagree. On what grounds do you claim that the Draconis Empire is nearly destroyed? Have you witnessed it with your own eyes?" The smile had completely vanished from Sharif’s face.

Jaime sneered arrogantly. "I don’t need to see it for myself. With the technological level of your Draconis Empire, how could you possibly have survived an alien onslaught? Frankly, the fact that you haven’t already been wiped out is quite surprising to me."

"Ah, what a disappointment for Your Excellency, then," Sharif said with mock regret. "We’ve failed to meet your expectations. Perhaps you should wait another hundred years, a few centuries, or even a millennium?" He then furrowed his brow slightly. "Ah, I almost forgot—Your Excellency likely won’t live that long."

"You—!" Jaime was so enraged he let out a sharp laugh. "You’ve got quite the sharp tongue. I’d like to see if you’ll still be able to talk like that in a moment!"

With that, a powerful aura erupted from Jaime’s body, forming a crushing wave of pressure directed straight at Sharif.

However, contrary to his expectations, the pressure never reached its target.

Shao Jing took a step forward, his dark eyes flashing with a cold light.

He, too, released an aura, effortlessly blocking Jaime’s oppressive force.

To an untrained observer, the clash might have seemed even, but in reality, Shao Jing held the upper hand.

Had this been a few days earlier, he might not have been able to withstand Jaime’s attack.

Only now did Jaime and his companions take notice of Shao Jing, their expressions shifting to surprise.

They had failed to recognize at first glance that he was a cultivator.

Amalia had not only been teaching Shao Jing cultivation but had also instructed him in the art of concealing his presence.

The techniques from the Mystic Void Continent were far superior to anything Jaime and his people possessed.

Unless someone actively probed, they would struggle to detect him immediately.

Realizing that Shao Jing had slightly outmatched Jaime, Miralles grew cautious.
