Chapter 1209: The Power of Faith
"Enjoy the benefits?" someone sneered. "I heard the aliens sent two battleships and six or seven spaceship. That level of firepower is nothing in the Pleiades Star System, but against the Erythar Star System? By the time we arrive, the Erythar Star System might already be in alien hands. That would be interesting."
Miralles Montalvo frowned. "That’s actually a possibility. But they still received the signals we sent earlier, so it shouldn’t be that bad, right?"
"It’s been a whole month. Do you really think it would take the aliens more than a month to conquer the Erythar Star System with just two battleships?" Jaime Senón scoffed.
Even Miralles had no rebuttal for that.
If the Erythar Star System had truly fallen to the aliens, then this entire trip would be pointless.
To reach the Erythar Star System as quickly as possible, they had used multiple space jumps over the past month.
Space jump technology wasn’t exclusive to the aliens—Pleiades Star System had also mastered it, though they had the aliens to thank for it.
Without their technology, the Pleiades Star System would never have been able to develop space jumping this quickly.
Because they had performed so many space jumps, they would need to replenish their energy reserves once they returned.
If the Erythar Star System had already fallen, their only options would be to find an energy planet themselves or steal from the aliens—both troublesome scenarios.
"Let’s hope the Erythar Star System hasn’t fallen just yet," Miralles said.
"They might even be counting on us to save them," Jaime shrugged.
As the massive battleship entered the Erythar Star System, it passed one planet after another.
Using their battleship’s advanced radar for scans, they found that most of the planets were devoid of life.
No humans, no aliens—just dead, lifeless planets.
"It’s over. I told you, the humans of the Erythar Star System were probably wiped out. We haven’t seen a single one. Chances are, they’ve all been taken to the Solvaris Star System as captives."
Jaime spoke as if mourning, but his expression carried a hint of schadenfreude.
"Miralles, I think we should stop looking for humans and just find an energy planet instead. Once we replenish our energy, we can head straight back."
"We’re still in the outer regions of the Erythar Star System. We have no idea what’s happening further in. When war breaks out, the weaker planets on the outskirts are always the first to fall," Miralles replied.
He wasn’t ready to jump to conclusions just yet—what if, against all odds, there were survivors?
Although he also believed that the humans of the Erythar Star System wouldn’t be able to withstand an alien battleship, if they were still alive, it would be far better than leaving empty-handed and having to scavenge for energy on their own.
The massive battleship continued advancing at supersonic speeds, skimming past one planet after another.
Finally, they detected inhabited planets—and quite a few of them.
On two of those planets, there were actually tens of millions of people.
Strangely, though, there were no human military forces on these planets, nor were there any signs of an alien attack.
"It seems like the situation in the Erythar Star System isn’t as bad as we feared," Miralles let out a breath of relief.
Jaime scoffed, "Don’t celebrate just yet. Look at the locations of these planets—they’re way off the beaten path. The aliens probably just don’t care about them."
A few light-years away, an invisible battleship floated in the void.
During this period of battles, they had wiped out waves of retreating aliens and rescued several groups of humans who had almost been transported to the Solvaris Star System.
The aliens had a specialized fleet of transport battleships for moving humans.
These battleships had massive carrying capacities, capable of transporting tens of millions of people at once.
However, they consumed enormous amounts of energy.
That’s why every time the aliens passed a planet, they would first loot it, stripping it of all its resources before moving on.
The people of these planets were deeply grateful to their rescuers, treating them as if they were their saviors.
Khalil, following Amalia’s instructions to the letter, seized the opportunity to spread Amalia’s grand image.
He made sure everyone knew that without Amalia capturing this battleship, they wouldn’t have been saved.
The results were remarkable.
"Khalil, if I remember correctly your family surname is also Vanquez right? Have you ever thought maybe your lineage goes back eight hundred years—they originally from the same clan as Ms. Amalia?"
His companions quickly started teasing him about his behavior.
"I think he’s not just a clansman—he’s a bootlicker. Look at him! If that’s not bootlicking, I don’t know what is."
"Shut up!" Khalil grinned. "I can do what I want. You jealous? Think you’d even get the chance to be a bootlicker?"
"That hurts," his companions fell silent.
Because they really wouldn’t get the chance.
No one had known Ms. Amalia as long as Khalil had.
Khalil smirked to himself.
Not only had he known Amalia and Kenny Lin the longest, but he also knew the two of them were a couple.
And right now, he was the only one who knew that secret.
The thought alone made him feel triumphant.
Thanks to Khalil’s efforts, Amalia had been staying on Planet Veloxia recently and had unexpectedly gained waves of faith energy.
Now, the entire sky of her small world was covered in faith energy—it was growing so fast that it was outpacing even the fusion of the small world itself.
Wealth watched in astonishment, clicking his tongue every day.
From the divine beast memories he had inherited, he knew that faith energy was notoriously difficult to gather.
There were billions of humans, but the number of immortals competing for their faith was just as staggering, and human faith was rarely pure.
Even back in the days of the immortals, spending centuries accumulating faith energy wouldn’t necessarily yield as much as Amalia had gained in just a month or two.
