Chapter 1134: The Silent Takeover
Chapter 1134: The Silent Takeover
Zorik hesitated briefly.
Judging by this person apparent lack of power, it seemed unlikely that this person could pose an immediate threat to him.
He waved for the guards to leave and instructed them to close the door.
"General, your decisiveness is commendable. I’ll get straight to the point," Amalia said as she approached him. "I intend to replace Aelra, but I’ll need to borrow your identity to do so."
Zorik hadn’t yet grasped the implication of this person words.
Why would someone need his identity to deal with Aelra?
When it finally dawned on him that this person planned to use him as a scapegoat, a powerful divine sense suddenly pierced into his mind and doing soul search.
Zorik let out a heart-wrenching scream of pain.
He thought surely his voice would carry beyond the room.
What he didn’t realize was that, before the guards had left, Amalia had already set up a soundproofing array within the room.
The unrelenting divine sense plundered his memories without mercy.
Zorik screamed until his throat felt like it was on fire, his eyes glazing over.
No one came to his aid.
His body collapsed in the chair as if his very soul had been ripped away.
Once the extraction was complete, Amalia killed Zorik and summoned the guards at the door.
As soon as they entered the room, she killed them as well, collecting their lifeless bodies and storing them in her personal small world.
In an instant, Amalia transformed into Zorik’s appearance, stepping out of the room and heading directly to find Aelra.
Outside Aelra’s office, two guards stood on duty.
As soon as they saw General Zorik approaching, they immediately stopped him.
"General Zorik, what brings you here?"
"Move aside. I have something urgent to discuss with General Aelra," Amalia snapped impatiently, brushing the two of them aside with a wave of her hand.
The guards hesitated and preparing to block General Zorik again when General Aelra’s voice rang out from within.
"Let him in."
Amalia cast a disdainful glance at the two guards before opening the door and stepping inside, shutting it firmly behind her.
"General Zorik, what brings you to the General at this hour?" Vynar who is standing nearby, asked him promptly.
"Of course, it’s something important. What I’m about to discuss is confidential. You can leave now," Amalia declared arrogantly, speaking as though it were only natural for her to command him to go.
"General Zorik, I am not under your command. I only take orders from the General," Vynar replied unmoved.
Amalia turned her gaze to Aelra, who was also staring at her, his expression deep and contemplative.
After a moment, he spoke. "Vynar is my trusted aide. Whatever you have to say, General Zorik, you can say it here."
"General Aelra, you are a formidable leader—if only you hadn’t crossed paths with us," Amalia remarked.
Aelra abruptly stood up, his sharp gaze fixed on her. "You’re not Zorik. Who are you?"
In response, Amalia drew her blade in one swift motion, the strike aimed not at Aelra but at Vynar beside him.
Vynar never expected such speed.
The blade’s gleam moved faster than light itself, ending his life in an instant.
Aelra stared at her in shock, his voice trembling as he uttered a term that startled Amalia.
"You’re a cultivator from the Andromeda Universe?"
"You even know about cultivators?" Amalia replied, surprised.
However, after a brief thought, she understood.
In her past life, she had already discovered that this world also had cultivators.
Given Aelra’s high status and influence, it wasn’t entirely surprising that he would know things that others didn’t.
"So, the Andromeda Universe has finally decided to act, haven’t they?" Aelra asked.
Despite knowing he was no match for her, he seemed calm.
He wasn’t weak, but the fact that she could kill Vynar right in front of him revealed that her strength far surpassed his.
Seeing that Aelra seemed to know many secrets, Amalia held back from killing him immediately.
She wanted to probe further and read his memories.
"You’ve slaughtered so many humans; you should’ve known this day would come eventually," she said coldly.
Amalia walked over, her divine sense extending to the top of Aelra’s head, before plunging deep into his mind.
Aelra’s pupils dilated sharply, and despite his formidable willpower, he couldn’t call out.
What surprised Amalia even more was that, even as she invaded his mind, he still had the presence of mind to commit suicide.
Yes, Aelra took his own life.
The faint smile on his lips as he died seemed to mock her, as though saying he wouldn’t let her succeed.
Unfortunately for him, things were not as Aelra imagined.
Whether or not Amalia obtained his memories was of little importance; she had only intended to make her actions more efficient.
With Aelra’s death, the aliens aboard the battleship no longer posed a threat.
Meanwhile, Kenny Lin had barely entered the control room when its occupants received an urgent signal from Lumora.
However, it was already too late.
In the small world, Khalil and a group of people were staring blankly at the alien mech manufacturing machinery.
The next moment, they found themselves aboard a spaceship, gazing out at the vast expanse of space.
"Ms. Amalia, Mr. Kenny?" Khalil realized that they might be standing aboard an alien battleship.
His expression turned incredulous as he glanced nervously around, noticing the eerie silence of the vessel.
"The people on the battleship have already been dealt with. This battleship now belongs to us," Amalia explained succinctly.
Everyone thought they must have misheard her.
They resisted the urge to rub their ears, instead perking them up and widening their eyes, their expressions filled with curiosity and disbelief.
"There’s a large number of humans imprisoned in the lower levels of this battleship. Go and free them, but make sure to keep a close watch. Don’t let them touch anything recklessly. If they trigger something, it could alert the other alien battleships. We’re still unsure if this vessel is connected to the rest of their fleet."
