Chapter 1111: The Battle’s Aftermath

As a commander, he couldn’t afford to show despair.

"Understood."

The subordinate immediately accepted the order and left.

Lumora’s conditions were significantly better than those of Shadron.

The communication here was still possible, albeit unreliable, with disruptions occurring frequently.

This was less due to alien interference and more because of the planet’s remote location.

However, there was another concern: the aliens’ advanced technology far surpassed their own.

It was entirely possible for the aliens to intercept their communications.

As a result, whenever they needed to communicate, they relied on primitive methods whenever feasible.

If not, they stuck to trivial conversations to mislead any aliens attempting to eavesdrop.

Three alien Cosmorite Mecha squads quickly boarded their ships and departed.

Meanwhile, on Shadron, Amalia and the others were busy collecting their spoils of war.

Over a thousand mechas lay before them.

While some had been completely destroyed during Kenny Lin’s indiscriminate attack, the majority of them remained functional, with many still in operable condition.

Khalil and his group, their faces glowing with excitement, eagerly collected these Cosmorite mechas.

To their amazement, they discovered several mechas that could be piloted immediately.

Externally intact Cosmorite mechas were already considered a luxury, but finding ones that could be driven right away was a stroke of unimaginable luck.

"Lieutenant, are we dreaming?" Tariq asked, pinching his own thigh for confirmation.

"You’ve asked that three times already. How’s your thigh holding up?" Khalil replied, exasperated.

Tariq gave an embarrassed chuckle. "It’s bruised now, I think, but strangely, I don’t feel any pain."

"If it were me, I wouldn’t feel any pain either. There’s no time for that—I’m too busy laughing in sheer delight." Khalil’s grin stretched wide.

He genuinely felt elated.

Never in his wildest dreams had he thought they’d one day own fully intact Cosmorite mechas.

And yet, it was true.

These mechas had been gifted to them by Amalia.

She and Kenny Lin had only taken the alien captain’s mecha, leaving the rest—whether intact or damaged—for them.

"Lieutenant, may I try piloting one of these?" Tariq asked nervously.

"Call everyone who knows how to pilot mechas," Khalil suddenly said, his expression turning serious.

Tariq seemed to understand his intent and immediately gathered several others.

"You all probably realize this: the aliens are numerous, and they have a mothership stationed near Shadron. Our enemy isn’t gone. While this thousand-strong mecha squad has been defeated, the mothership surely knows what happened and will send reinforcements soon—possibly an entire mecha army. We can’t rely entirely on our two benefactors. Those of you who can operate the Cosmorite Mechas, I’m counting on you. Before the enemy arrives, familiarize yourselves with them as much as possible," Khalil urged in a lengthy but impassioned speech.

Tariq and the others nodded their heads without hesitation.

They had already planned to do exactly that.

This was Shadron’s moment of life and death, and no one dared let their guard down.

"What do you want this mecha for?" Kenny Lin leaned against the wall, watching Amalia as she tinkered with the Cosmorite Mecha.

After dealing with the invading aliens, Amalia had promised to give the remaining intact Cosmorite Mechas to Khalil.

She then brought this particular one with her.

Her divine sense quickly scanned the entire mecha inside and out.

"This mecha seems to be slightly higher grade. To put it in perspective, if the other Cosmorite Mechas out there are Tier 3 Mecha, this one should be Tier 4 Mecha," Amalia said.

"I’m trying to figure out what differences exist between the two tiers of mechas."

"And have you figured it out?" Kenny Lin asked.

"The materials are different, but there’s one material they both share," Amalia replied.

"Is it still that meteorite material?" Kenny Lin asked.

Amalia nodded. "Yes. Based on what I’ve found so far, this material serves two purposes for the Cosmorite Mechas. First, it enhances the hardness of the mecha."

Kenny Lin extended a finger and poked the surface of the mecha.

The area immediately dented inward.

"And this is what you call hard?"

Amalia ignored his sarcasm. "On a relative scale, if the Draconis Empire’s mechas have a hardness Level, then the Cosmorite Mechas’ hardness level is at Level 6."

"One material makes that much of a difference?" Kenny Lin asked, intrigued.

"Not entirely. The mysterious meteorite material contributes 3 points, while the remaining 1 point comes from other materials."

"You mentioned a second function. What is it?"

"The second function lies in the Cosmorite Mechas’ core energy system. It’s particularly fascinating—it uses a type of stone. Inside the stone is a form of energy that I haven’t fully understood yet."

"That is quite interesting. Can you craft a Cosmorite Mechas like this?"

Amalia suddenly smiled. "Why would I bother crafting a Cosmorite Mechas? While it does amplify the user’s power, it ultimately still requires human control."

With a wave of her hand, a towering beast puppet suddenly appeared on the ground.

The beast puppet was one from the Forbidden Ground of the Nine Heaven Pixiu. Most of the beast puppets had been destroyed, leaving only a few of them.

After the great battle, Amalia had collected the remaining usable beast puppets.

"A beast puppet at the Deity Transformation stage. It might not be able to handle someone at the Body Integration stage, but for alien pilots in Cosmorite Mechas, it should suffice."

Of course, their current understanding of alien power levels was still limited.

While the beast puppet, at the peak of the Deity Transformation stage, could likely handle many aliens, its exact effectiveness against different alien levels was uncertain.

Even though it was at the Deity Transformation stage, its lack of independent consciousness made it less flexible and powerful in combat than a human.

Its true combat strength was likely closer to the early or middle of the Deity Transformation stage.

"Not bad! So you kept one after all. Besides this beast puppet, how many more do you have?" Kenny Lin asked, delighted.

"A dozen or so, but most of them are damaged. I’ll need some rare materials to repair them, and spirit stones are also scarce. These beast puppets require spirit stones to operate. I’m not sure if this universe has the materials we need. If not, we’ll really have to rely on the Cosmorite Mechas," Amalia said.
