Chapter 1109: Shadron’s Reckoning

Khalil, however, didn’t notice Tariq’s reaction and was still worrying when the weapon landed in the hands of one of the aliens.

For a moment, the alien holding the sword froze.

He couldn’t believe the weapon had fallen into his hands so effortlessly.

He looked up at Kenny Lin in the center of the battlefield.

The latter smirked slightly before delivering a single punch.

And that was the end.

The alien died without ever understanding that his opponent didn’t even need the sword to kill them.

The overwhelming strength of Kenny Lin’s physical body stunned the aliens.

Physical prowess was something they themselves aspired to perfect, yet no amount of training could have enabled them to fly through the air, much less punch through the defenses and offensive capabilities of Cosmorite Mecha in a single blow.

By the time the rest of the aliens realized this, it was too late.

"I gave you the sword, and you’re the ones who didn’t want it." Kenny Lin retrieved the sword from the ground, his calm eyes carrying an almost imperceptible tinge of bloodlust as he looked at the remaining aliens.

Five minutes later, the battle was over.

From the moment the alien mecha squad entered Shadron until their complete annihilation, the entire process took less than half an hour.

It felt as if they had fought a war that wasn’t real.

Not a single human life was lost, and the thousand-strong alien mecha squad was utterly wiped out.

The Cosmorite Mecha that Khalil and his companions once considered priceless treasures now littered the ground.

If this were a dream, they wished they could stay in it forever.

Meanwhile, aboard an alien mothership several light-years away.

Reckless revelry had always been the dominant atmosphere aboard the alien interstellar battleship.

A single mecha squad was nothing more than a drop in the ocean to the massive mothership.

No one cared about the outcome, because it was always the same—humans were destined to lose.

On this day, the aliens aboard the mothership continued their routines as they had the day before.

An alien walked into the communication room, carrying a dozen bottles. "The booze is here."

"Took you long enough. We’ve been waiting for half an hour," grumbled one of the aliens in the room.

"Half an hour isn’t bad. Be grateful. Last time, I had to wait in line for half a day just to get a few bottles. Those worthless humans are only good for things like this," replied another alien.

"Just wait till I’m deployed," the complaining alien snarled. "I’ll capture tens of thousands of humans, lock them up, and make them brew wine just for me!"

"Sure, who wouldn’t want that?" The other alien laughed. "I heard the Monarch are already doing something similar, keeping large numbers of humans as livestock to make things for us. Brewing wine might just be one of their tasks. Heh."

At that moment, the communication signal began to beep urgently.

The red alert lights flashed.

Before they could even press the button, a terrified voice burst through the speakers.

"Help! Help! Get to Shadron quickly! Everyone’s dead! Hurry—"

The voice cut off before finishing.

The three aliens in the communication room exchanged glances.

"Was that one of our own just now?"

"Sounded like it."

"No way. Did they just ask us for help? Did they say it wrong?"

One alien furrowed his brow. "I think they mentioned Shadron. I recall there is a planet called Shadron, but it’s in the most remote part of the Erythar Star System. That planet was already reduced to a few stubborn human stragglers ages ago. Their general was killed long ago. If something had happened, it wouldn’t have taken this long to notice."

"I’ll go and ask," the alien said uneasily and stepping out of the room.

The remaining two aliens tried contacting the others again, but no matter what they did, they couldn’t get through.

Before long, their companion returned, anxiously pushing the door open and barging in.

"Bad news. Early this morning, a mecha squad indeed set out for Shadron."

The two aliens exchanged glances, still skeptical as they asked, "Are you sure it was a mecha squad and not just a small group of two or three?"

"It was a full mecha squad. Previously, a group led by Ixilith went to Shadron for fun, but they didn’t return even after a whole day. That’s when the commander decided to send a mecha squad there."

The alien’s face was grave.

He had gone out to personally investigate it and realized how severe the situation was.

This was no small matter.

Shadron is a desolate planet and it’s no longer had something to exploit.

It was too remote to make them interested and only occasionally, for entertainment, someone might visit the planet to enjoy the terrified expressions of the humans.

Upon hearing this, the two aliens finally understood the gravity of the situation.

"Then what are we waiting for? I’ll notify the commander immediately."

The alien rushed out of the communication room, only to be called back by his companion.

"It’s too late for that. I’ll contact the higher-ups directly," the alien said while operating the console.

The communication room was responsible for maintaining contact with most deployed personnel.

In emergencies, they could bypass the usual chain of command to directly report critical issues.

Before long, the alien had established a connection with a superior officer.

"What’s the matter?" A large-eared, thick-faced alien officer appeared on the screen.

"Apologies for contacting you directly, sir. In our urgency, we deemed it necessary. We’ve just received a distress signal from planet Shadron. This morning, a mecha squad was dispatched to locate Ixilith’s group, who hadn’t returned. The mech squad appears to have encountered a formidable enemy and requested immediate assistance."

The alien officer who is listened to the report, initially skeptical like them.

However, he knew they had no reason to fabricate such a claim.

"Are you certain this is accurate?"
