Chapter 1104: Unveiling the Cosmorite Mechas
Even in their stillness, they radiated an imposing aura.
On the way, Amalia listened to their explanation and learned how strictly the aliens safeguarded their Cosmorite Mecha technology.
They rarely allowed humans to recover even fragments of the mechs.
After battles, the aliens would meticulously retrieve any core fragments that could potentially reveal the secrets of Cosmorite Mecha technology.
What was left behind were insignificant scraps that provided no real insights, other than reinforcing the terrifying durability of these mechs.
This only deepened the despair of the humans, as they wondered how they could ever protect their homeland against such technologically advanced invaders.
Seeing these three nearly intact Cosmorite Mechas for the first time, Khalil trembled slightly.
Never before had they managed to claim such complete mechs.
The first mech had its cockpit smashed through by Kenny Lin’s punch, leaving its core system almost entirely destroyed, though the rest of the mech was remarkably intact.
The second mech was in better condition, albeit missing its limbs.
Its cockpit was mostly intact except for a gaping hole in the chest, where Kenny Lin had ripped open the core cabin and torn the alien pilot inside to pieces.
The third mech was the most complete of all.
Its head was severed cleanly from its body, with a smooth, precise cut that looked as though it had been made by an incredibly sharp blade.
"You two aren’t just the saviors of Shadron; you’re heroes of the Draconis Empire," Khalil exclaimed, forgoing an immediate inspection of the mechs to express his gratitude to Amalia and Kenny Lin. "Although we’ve been out of contact with the Empire for six months, knowing the aliens’ tendencies, I’m confident the Empire has an 80% chance of never having obtained Cosmorite Mechas this intact before."
"If we can get these three Cosmorite Mechas to Veloxia, the Empire’s Mecha Masters will undoubtedly be able to study and replicate them."
The more Khalil spoke, the more excited he became, his face lit with hope.
However, when the conversation turned to how the mechs could be transported to Veloxia, his enthusiasm deflated and replaced with a somber expression.
Veloxia is the capital of the Draconis Empire, the planet where the royal family resides.
This information had been learned six months ago, before they lost contact with the Empire.
Before the alien invasion, Veloxia was not the capital planet of the Draconis Empire.
The original capital planet fell into enemy hands at the onset of the invasion, and the situation was brutal.
While slaughtering the population, the aliens even broadcasted the massacre live across planets with internet access throughout the universe.
In just a few days, nearly half of the planet’s population of several hundred million had perished, including some members of the royal family.
Veloxia was later established as the new capital by the royal family members who managed to escape.
The planet has highly fortified defenses, and many important figures, such as the Mecha Master, were relocated there.
"This size of mech... we have no means of transporting them to Veloxia. Even if we could, getting them past the aliens’ heavy defenses to reach Veloxia seems almost impossible," Khalil said, his brow darkening with renewed worry.
What use is obtaining the alien Cosmorite Mechas if we can’t transport them?
The result would be the same as not obtaining them at all.
"Lieutenant, maybe we could try contacting them, ask them to send someone to take these Cosmorite Mechas away?" Tariq thought outside the box.
He felt this method would be far easier than trying to send them themselves.
Khalil quickly regained some hope.
Indeed, this would be simpler, "It could work, but how do we contact them?"
"We’ll think of something, we always do," Tariq encouraged.
They had made it through the toughest times, so having a potential breakthrough now was a step forward.
Amalia had been standing off to the side, listening as they spoke.
As they were talking, she walked over to one of the Cosmorite Mechas, lightly touching the surface.
A cold sensation spread through her skin, metallic in its chill, but she still noticed it.
"Did you find something?" Kenny Lin, noticing her expression, understood that there was something important.
Amalia nodded her head. "Although the surface seems metallic, this Cosmorite Mecha appears to contain a trace of stellar energy. It’s somewhat similar to the materials of certain meteorites."
She extended her divine sense, probing deeper into the Mecha’s structure.
She explored every corner, finally seeing the design of the core cabin.
In her past life, she had also piloted a mech, so she had some understanding.
The alien Cosmorite Mechas and the Empire’s mechs were similar, aside from the materials and some internal structural differences.
This was a higher-tier mech, so the complexity was to be expected.
Of course, the biggest difference between the two types of mechs lay in their core energy cabins.
"Is this meteorite the main material?" Kenny Lin asked, lacking the technical knowledge to fully grasp the details.
"Probably," Amalia replied. "The defensive strength and energy of these Cosmorite Mechas are likely derived from this meteorite material, with a 90% probability... but..." She paused.
The conversation between the two was not deliberately lowered in volume, and when Khalil and the others overheard them discussing the Cosmorite Mechas, their eyes widened in shock as they stared at them.
"But what?" Kenny Lin didn’t continue to ask, and it was Khalil who couldn’t help but ask first.
"This Cosmorite Mecha might be one of the lower-tier models. It was mainly made for the aliens we killed. I suspect there’s a higher-tier model meant for the shape shifting aliens to pilot," Amalia continued.
Khalil took a deep breath. "You can deduce all that just from one Cosmorite Mecha?"
Amalia smiled and replied, "It’s not difficult. You can tell by looking at their core cabins. The interior space is unusually large. The shape shifting aliens wouldn’t need such a large core cabin. Additionally, this Cosmorite Mecha’s internal structure is relatively simple."
