Chapter 1078: The Sleeping Inheritor
Amalia’s expression shifted slightly as she immediately retreated.
In a flash, a primordial soul emerged and lunged toward her, as if it had been waiting for this moment.
Kenny Lin rushed over, slicing the primordial soul into countless pieces with a single sword strike, shredding it completely in the wave of sword energy.
"Amalia!"
Kenny Lin dropped his sword in panic, catching Amalia as her body reeled backward.
"Hahaha!" A maniacal laugh echoed in Amalia’s mind as the soul invaded her body.
The invader with a massive primordial soul, raced toward her dantian.
Spotting the small soul suspended at its center, a cruel grin appeared on its ethereal face as it lunged.
At that moment, the miniature version of Amalia’s soul opened its eyes.
As the massive soul approached, it threw something from its grasp.
The soul collided with the object and froze in terror before being sucked inside, unable to resist.
When the soul regained awareness, it was no longer inside Amalia’s dantian.
Instead, it found itself under a clear blue sky, standing on solid ground, utterly bewildered.
Where was this place?
Had it escaped?
But why was there no one else around?
"Amalia, are you okay?" Kenny Lin gripped her shoulders, his voice filled with concern.
"I’m fine. It seems the soul was absorbed into the small world within my Soltice Ring," Amalia replied calmly.
After confirming that her dantian was free of the invading soul, Amalia checked the small world within the Soltice Ring.
Sure enough, the soul was wandering aimlessly inside, its power completely suppressed.
She instinctively realized she could destroy it effortlessly.
With a single thought, Amalia willed the soul to disintegrate, and it vanished without resistance.
To her surprise, the soul’s energy didn’t dissipate into the void.
Instead, it seeped into the earth of her small world.
"What’s wrong?" Kenny Lin asked, noticing her momentary distraction.
"The soul’s energy seems to benefit the small world," Amalia explained, describing what she had observed.
"Your small world’s properties are somewhat similar to my Yin-Yang Pearl," Kenny Lin remarked thoughtfully.
Amalia nodded, then asked, "Are the others all dead?"
Kenny Lin chuckled coldly. "I caught two people who are pretending to be dead."
With their physical bodies destroyed, the souls of those Body Integration stage cultivators posed little threat.
However, their cunning nature led them to feign death, hoping for a chance to strike back.
If not for the pair’s vigilance, those souls might have sabotaged their efforts at a critical moment.
Amalia turned her gaze toward the land of inheritance. "We owe the deaths of so many Body Integrationstage cultivators to the phantom of the Beast God. Do you think the Beast God foresaw this day long ago?"
The Phantom of the Beast God, though not highly offensive, had an indomitable will.
Otherwise, it wouldn’t have been able to paralyze six or seven Body Integration stage cultivators in an instant.
Continuing the bloodbath would not be in their favor.
"If the Beast God really foresaw this day, he wouldn’t have hoarded so many treasures," Kenny Lin said dismissively. The principle of "having treasures invites disaster" was surely not beyond the understanding of such a mighty being.
"That’s rrue." Amalia glanced up at the spatial rift above. "Let’s check on Wealth first."
The two of them approached the Land of Inheritance, whose gates remained tightly shut.
Gor’kan and the others stood outside, not daring to force their way in, their faces tense as they noticed Amalia and Kenny Lin approaching.
"You’re here. It doesn’t seem like the Young Master is ready to come out yet."
Kenny Lin strode up the steps and pushed against the gate of the Land of Inheritance.
Before Gor’kan could stop him, the gate creaked open slightly.
The stone doors rumbled and slowly swung open on their own, revealing a dark entrance.
The interior was dimly lit.
"Wait, this isn’t right," Zhar’khaen said, stunned.
"What’s not right?" Amalia turned to ask.
"The Land of Inheritance isn’t supposed to open like this," Zhar’khaen explained. "We usually smear our blood on it without needing to move the doors, and it pulls us inside automatically. That’s how the Young Master entered."
But now, it looked like an empty, hollow chamber.
"Perhaps its mechanism has been exhausted," Amalia suggested. "Your excessive reverence might have kept you from noticing earlier."
The three of them suddenly understood and immediately rushed inside.
Inside, the atmosphere was eerily quiet, with only the faint sound of breathing coming from up ahead.
Amalia and Kenny Lin scanned the area.
They saw several stone statues of mythical beasts lining the chamber—thirteen in total.
The largest and the most imposing statue stood in the centerz it bore a striking resemblance to the Phantom of the Beast God they had seen earlier.
"Young Master!" Gor’kan and the others rushed to the formation’s center and lifted their fallen leader.
Amalia approached, and if not for their calls, she might not have recognized the creature before her as Wealth.
Wealth’s once dusty gray fur, though unremarkable in color, had been soft and full of vitality.
Now, his fur was a brilliant golden sheen, but it was patchy and stiff, completely transformed from his former self as a Lumina Scale Komodo.
"What a drastic change," Amalia muttered, her gaze lingering on the hardened strands of golden fur.
The pure aura of that bloodline manifested as a suppression effect, faintly impacting humans and more significantly affecting other demonic beasts.
After the three Pixiu approached, they didn’t dare touch their young master and instead knelt beside him.
"Is this really Wealth?" Amalia asked.
"This is the form he takes after awakening the pure bloodline of the Nine Heaven Pixiu bloodline," one of the Pixiu explained.
The three Pixiu were visibly excited.
Although they had suspected this earlier, they hadn’t dared to fully believe it until now.
"Then what’s he doing now? Hasn’t the inheritance process ended? Why hasn’t he woken up yet?" Kenny Lin sheathed his sword and walked over toward it.
