Chapter 1059: Battle of Vengeance
In an instant, he was teleported to another location.
The dilapidated gray palace around him morphed into a vast, endless grassland, with a faint breeze brushing past him.
It felt both real and illusory.
"Who’s there?" Azrakar roared, throwing a punch behind him.
His attack hit nothing but air.
"So, you’ve just recently broken through to the King level. Your strength isn’t very stable yet," Kenny Lin observed coolly. "Kill the small ones, and an older one comes along. I wonder if killing this one will summon an even older one."
That chillingly oppressive aura appeared again.
Azrakar’s face remained impassive, but inwardly, his vigilance soared.
Whoever had manipulated the formation to teleport him here couldn’t have done so simply to change his surroundings.
"Stop hiding like a coward! Get out here and face me directly face to face, you scoundrel!" Azrakar bellowed, his voice booming across the landscape.
Azrakar threw punch after punch in all directions, attempting to flush out the person hiding nearby.
"Heh," Kenny Lin chuckled and pulling out the Empyrean Sky Obelisk.
It was time to test how powerful this artifact truly was.
With a single step forward, Kenny Lin used the Sky Viewing Mirror to teleport himself directly behind Azrakar and hurled the stele toward him.
Azrakar spun around abruptly, his face twisted in rage. "So, you’ve finally shown yourself! Prepare to die!"
His fist instantly grew dozens of times larger, imbued with a devastating, earth-shattering force, and shot straight at Kenny Lin.
Unperturbed, Kenny Lin stepped back and slashed out with his sword.
The blade’s light that was faster than the speed of thought, cleaved Azrakar’s massive fist clean in half.
Finally, his face appeared before Azrakar.
"It’s you!" Azrakar’s expression was one of shock.
Ever since his son had died in the Double Cavern Secret Realm, this face had haunted his thoughts.
He had long since concluded that Kenny Lin and his companion were the culprits behind his son’s death.
"That’s right. It’s me," Kenny Lin replied coldly, following up his words with another sword strike.
Azrakar slammed his fist into the ground, causing countless earthen spikes to erupt upward in layers, only for them to be systematically sliced apart by the relentless sword light.
"Perfect timing," Azrakar growled. "I’ve been looking for you two for a long time. Today, if I don’t kill you, I won’t leave this place alive!"
He had sought the Sky Viewing Mirror for one purpose: to track down his son’s killers.
Unexpectedly, Kenny Lin had delivered himself right to him.
Azrakar’s priorities shifted in an instant—killing this man was now his sole goal.
"Good! I wasn’t planning to let you leave anyway. Since you’re so curious, let me tell you—I killed your son. Surprised? Didn’t see that coming, did you?" Kenny Lin taunted.
"It was you!" Azrakar’s reason was obliterated by his fury.
He roared and charged at Kenny Lin with wild abandon.
Kenny Lin darted away with lightning speed, traversing a thousand meters in the blink of an eye.
At that moment, a massive shadow loomed overhead.
The Empyrean Sky Obelisk, now magnified hundreds of times, crashed down from above Azrakar’s head like an enormous mountain.
Azrakar’s defiant roar echoed beneath the stele.
As it descended, immense gravitational force bore down on him from all sides.
His legs sank into the ground, embedding him up to his knees.
Kenny Lin stood on the edge of the Empyrean Sky Obelisk, looking down at the devil trapped beneath it. "Congratulations—you’re the first King-level Devil that I’ve subdued with my artifact."
Azrakar’s bloodshot eyes glared at Kenny Lin, filled with seething rage and unwillingness.
His arms bulged with throbbing veins as he pressed against the ground, trying to push himself free.
"If you’ve got the guts to kill my son, then let me out and face me in a proper fight! Otherwise, if I die, you won’t leave here alive either!"
"Oh?" Kenny Lin raised an eyebrow in mock curiosity.
"If I die, my father will sense it immediately," Azrakar snarled, his voice maniacal. "He’ll rush here at top speed, and none of you will escape alive!"
Kenny Lin tilted his head, pretending to contemplate. "Ah, you’ve reminded me of something. Death, you say? I assume you mean the annihilation of the soul? In that case, if I keep your soul intact, your father won’t sense a thing, right?"
Azrakar’s fury erupted anew, but before he could respond, a flash of sword light severed his head cleanly from his body.
A wisp of soul essence emerged from Azrakar’s severed head, but before it could escape, Kenny Lin trapped it inside the Yin-Yang Pearl.
While refining it, he carefully nourished the soul essence to prevent it from being instantly obliterated.
Kenny Lin stood up while storing the Empyrean Sky Obelisk away, but noticed a small crack along its surface.
He immediately questioned Vryss’laar.
"What’s this? How could a divine artifact be so fragile?"
"It’s not that the artifact is weak," Vryss’laar replied. "Our ancestor, the Beast God, collected these divine artifacts after the great war ended. At that time, many immortals had fallen, and their life-bound treasures were inevitably damaged. Most of these artifacts retained only two or three-tenths of their original power. If this Empyrean Sky Obelisk can’t be repaired, it might only withstand a few more uses before breaking entirely."
"So, it’s basically just a disposable trump card. What a waste on that devil," Kenny Lin said decisively as he stored the artifact away.
Hearing Kenny Lin’s mutterings, Vryss’laar couldn’t help but feel exasperated.
A King-level devil was incredibly powerful, and managing to kill one was no small feat.
Yet, Kenny Lin still felt it had been a waste.
In order to avoid further frustration, Vryss’laar shifted his focus to his companions, Gor’kan and Gor’kan.
Zhar’khaen’s cultivation level wasn’t high enough to handle body Integration stage opponents, but with the Aurora’s Eclipse Bow in hand, he could deal with most Deity Transformation stage enemies.
Gor’kan, however, faced tougher challenges.
