Chapter 1056: Flame and Fury

Kenny Lin’s eyes turned bloodshot. He should have foreseen this. He wanted to stop Amalia, but he feared that interrupting her midway would be even more dangerous.

"Dammit!"

The Phoenix True Flame was overwhelmingly powerful, forcing Amalia to devote all her focus to containing it. She hadn’t even noticed Kenny Lin entering the vault.

As she was pushed to her limits, a trace of Chaos Energy within her began to suppress the Phoenix True Flame.

For a moment, the two forces were evenly matched, but Amalia was in agony, caught between them and feeling as though death would be a relief.

Kenny Lin paced back and forth anxiously in front of her. He had to think of a way to ease Amalia’s suffering.

The only extraordinary thing he possessed was the Yin-Yang Pearl. Perhaps he could use it to help.

With that thought, Kenny Lin immediately summoned the Yin-Yang Pearl.

The pearl had remained dormant inside him since it was first absorbed.

"Amalia, I’m going to try to send the Yin-Yang Pearl into your dantian to see if it can suppress the flame. Don’t resist," he transmitted to her.

Amalia didn’t respond, and he wasn’t sure if she’d heard him.

Kenny Lin decided to proceed anyway, carefully sending the Yin-Yang Pearl into her dantian.

Amalia had, in fact, heard him. She didn’t resist—not that she had the strength to. The pain was unbearable, and she felt as though her very soul had been burned into numbness.

As the Yin-Yang Pearl entered her dantian, it immediately encountered the searing flames surrounding it. A tide of energy surged outward from the pearl, helping Amalia resist the Phoenix True Flame.

The pearl’s Yang energy also nourished her damaged dantian and meridians, slightly easing her contorted expression.

However, the energy released by the Yin-Yang Pearl wasn’t enough to help the Chaos Energy expel or refine the Phoenix True Flame. If this continued, Amalia would still suffer greatly.

Kenny Lin’s expression shifted between determination and hesitation before he finally made a decision. He manipulated the Yin-Yang Pearl, allowing it to absorb a portion of the Phoenix True Flame.

The surface of the pearl trembled violently for a moment before gradually calming down.

Kenny Lin didn’t sense any abnormalities from the Yin-Yang Pearl, and Amalia’s expression relaxed as a portion of the Phoenix True Flame was removed. Realizing that this approach was effective, he continued.

He carefully absorbed the Phoenix True Flame strand by strand, leaving behind only a small remnant.

This small remnant was finally no match for Amalia, and it was soon suppressed by her Chaos Energy.

Kenny Lin then retracted the Yin-Yang Pearl. After absorbing a significant amount of Phoenix True Flame, the Yang side of the pearl took on a fiery red hue. When he returned it to his dantian, he noticed that the energy it released now carried a trace of True Yang. Seeing that it caused no harm to his body, he decided to leave it as it was.

Seeing that Amalia’s expression had eased considerably, Kenny Lin turned his focus to searching for treasures.

By the time Amalia had completely refined the remaining strand of Phoenix True Flame, Kenny Lin was already gone.

From start to finish, Amalia was fully aware that Kenny Lin had helped her refine the flame.

Now possessing this strand of Phoenix True Flame, she could already feel her mastery of fire rising to a new level. She decided to test it by refining the material before her.

Moments later, with a faint hissing sound, the incredibly hard material in front of her melted instantly into a pool of liquid.

Amalia’s eyes darkened with awe. "Phoenix True Flame—it truly deserves its reputation as the most powerful flame in the world."

With this strand of Phoenix True Flame, she estimated that her future refining tasks would take significantly less time.

However, what Amalia didn’t know was that the originally allotted time of one day had been shortened by the changes happening outside. The time left had been reduced to less than a third.

Time continued to tick away, and the barrier grew increasingly fragile. It wouldn’t be long before the forbidden ground was breached, transforming what was once a tranquil place into the stage for a ferocious battle.

"Let’s go, back to the grand hall." Kenny Lin watched the flickering lights in the sky gradually grow slower and dimmer before turning to leave.

Gor’kan and the other two followed without hesitation. Their expressions were grave, and even Zhar’khaen had lost his usual playful demeanor.

A quarter of an hour later, a loud rumble echoed through the sky, as if the heavens themselves had been torn apart.

The deafening roar echoed for kilometers, only to be blocked by the surrounding barriers nearby.

The barrier outside the forbidden ground finally disappeared, yet the demons guarding the perimeter didn’t act immediately.

The moment the forbidden ground was breached, Dalamandur instinctively prepared to charge forward. However, catching a glimpse of the others who are remaining motionless from the corner of its eye, it halted its advance.

Just as doubt began to rise, the enormous Shub-Niggurath stationed at the forbidden ground’s entrance began to move. Its countless tens of thousands of eyes rotated at an increasingly rapid pace, as if it was on the verge of losing control.

The devils in the vicinity had already retreated to at least a kilometer away.

Then, the Shub-Niggurath exploded.

Those devils who are too slow to flee were blown away and obliterated by a wave of destructive force. Their agonized screams were silenced in an instant, devoured before they could even echo.

The sky darkened completely, swallowed by dense, choking smoke. When the smoke finally dissipated, everything within a kilometer radius of the forbidden ground had been razed to the ground, leaving a barren wasteland.

Above, a swirling vortex appeared in the sky. At its center, a mirage-like city loomed faintly, exuding an ancient and mysterious aura.

"The forbidden ground is open!"

Someone shouted, and chaos erupted as countless figures surged from all directions.
