Chapter 1050: The Hidden Treasury

Gor’kan pricked his finger, squeezing out a drop of blood that he dripped onto the door.

The next moment, a deep rumbling echoed as the door shifted, sliding open just enough for one person to pass through.

Zhar’khaen slipped through first, followed closely by Amalia and Kenny Lin.

Upon entering, it felt as though they had stepped into another dimension. The space was vast beyond imagination.

"The treasury of the Nine Heaven Pixiu is this enormous?" Amalia and Kenny Lin exchanged astonished glances.

Unlike the Green Lotus Sect’s treasure pavilion, where artifacts were displayed on shelves, most of the treasures here floated in midair, encased in faint halos of light.

"This is essentially another dimension," Zhar’khaen explained with a proud lift of his chest as he noticed the astonishment in their eyes.

Gor’kan and Vryss’laar seemed equally proud. "It seems the Beast God foresaw the future of the Nine Heaven Pixiu clan. Before the Great War began, he preemptively created this alternate space and stored all our clan’s treasures here," Gor’kan added.

"Indeed, thanks to our Beast God’s unmatched strategy and foresight, this treasury remained secure. No one could have imagined that those who were once fiercely loyal to the Beast God would one day betray the Nine Heaven Pixiu clan," Vryss’laar remarked bitterly.

Zhar’khaen ground his teeth, seething with anger. He seemed ready to flay alive the beasts who had betrayed the Beast God. If not for his limited strength, he might have already attempted such vengeance.

Amalia noticed many treasures among the glowing orbs: divine artifacts imbued with various mystical powers, more diverse than anything found on Mystic Void Continent. There were also rare heavenly materials and earthly treasures that didn’t exist on her continent.

She suddenly understood why the Dalamandur had relentlessly pursued them after sensing the presence of a Pixiu at Silent Echo Valley.

Kenny Lin casually reached for one of the glowing orbs and broke the seal around it.

Inside was a fruit whose aura had been locked away. Consuming it would enhance one’s cultivation level. Though its energy had waned over time, it still retained half of its original potency.

"With so many heavenly treasures here, how did you three end up with such modest cultivation?" Kenny Lin teased, glancing slyly at the trio.

The three Pixius blushed furiously. "Our cultivation isn’t high, but we’re not that old!"

"Oh? And how old are you?" Kenny Lin raised an eyebrow, clearly skeptical.

"Less than a century. According to our clan’s calculations, the three of us are technically still juveniles."

"All three of you?" Amalia asked in surprise.

Gor’kan nodded.

"Triplets? You don’t look alike," Kenny Lin said as he scrutinized them.

Gor’kan’s features were sharp and commanding, giving him the air of a stern guardian.

Zhar’khaen’s appearance was more mischievous, with a single earring on one ear and a pair of alluring, roguish eyes. His wicked grin could easily charm the unsuspecting.

Vryss’laar, on the other hand, was pure and clean-cut, exuding a harmless, boy-next-door vibe.

Despite their youthful appearances, Amalia had assumed they were at least a thousand years old. The revelation of their true ages caught her off guard.

"We’re not triplets. There’s a reason for our shared age," Gor’kan explained, his expression tinged with sadness.

Amalia guessed it might have something to do with the reproductive challenges of the Nine Heaven Pixiu clan. She decided to steer the conversation back on track. "Let’s set that aside for now. Why did you bring us here?"

"It’s not like you’re planning to gift us all these treasures, are you?" Kenny Lin joked, tossing the fruit he’d picked up.

"Whether you can save the Young Master or not, we’ve decided to offer you a portion of these treasures. Better to give them to you than let them fall into the hands of those devils or traitors," Gor’kan stated firmly.

"My plan is to use the palace and these treasures to fortify our defense until the Young Master completes his retreat," he continued.

"We’re all ears," Amalia said, intrigued.

Gor’kan glanced at Zhar’khaen, who immediately ran ahead and returned shortly with a large box.

"To be honest, this palace is actually a large-scale formation," Gor’kan began. "However, maintaining it for an extended period is incredibly difficult. Since the Forbidden Grounds have remained undiscovered until now, we’ve never activated it."

He continued, "Hidden in the corners of this palace are beast puppets crafted by our elders. These beast puppets only activate when the formation is operational. Our plan is to wait until the Forbidden Grounds are breached. As soon as they enter the palace, we’ll activate the formation."

"What are the conditions for activating the formation?" Amalia immediately pinpointed the critical question.

"True fire, supplemented by our blood," Gor’kan explained. "During the process, the supply of our blood cannot be interrupted. Additionally, the activation requires the sacrifice of one treasure. We have plenty of those, so there’s no need to worry about that."

"So, in essence, someone must stay at the formation’s core and continuously provide blood?"

"You don’t need to worry about that. We’ve already decided. Vryss’laar will remain at the core," Gor’kan replied.

Amalia glanced at Vryss’laar, who showed no signs of objection. "Just him? Aren’t you afraid something might happen to him?"

"For the Young Master, and to ensure the survival of the Nine Heaven Pixiu clan, this sacrifice is insignificant. Even if I were to die, there will be more of our kin in the future," Vryss’laar declared with unwavering determination.

"More of your kin? It seems you’re hiding something from us," Kenny Lin’s sharp gaze instantly landed on Gor’kan.

"We had no intention of hiding anything. In fact, I’ve already hinted at it," Gor’kan responded calmly.

"Your ages?" Kenny Lin asked, puzzled.

"I recall records about the Nine Heaven Pixiu clan," Amalia interjected. "It’s a species known for its difficulty in reproducing. Because of their innate gifts and immense power, the probability of three of you being the same age should be virtually impossible."
