Chapter 105: Soft And Perky (Part 1)

Looking at Amalia’s father’s utterly stupid face, a thought suddenly crossed Amalia’s mind: stupid people are usually get blessed, and surprisingly, this saying had some truth to it.

Amalia’s mother’s words triggered a memory deeply buried in Amalia’s mind. She remembered that Amalia’s father had indeed imitated in front of the original owner before.

But to draw amulets’ power just by imitating... Amalia couldn’t believe it unless her father naturally possessed this talent.

Amalia stared intently at Amalia’s father.

"Daughter, what’s the matter?" Amalia’s mother asked again.

"I’m just suddenly realized that Dad had another side job," Amalia chuckled softly.

When she thought she might have to spend a lot of money on this, fate brought her father to her doorstep.

"What side job?" Amalia’s father and Amalia’s mother were completely puzzled.

Amalia flashed a mysterious smile.

Over the next two days, Amalia prioritized teaching Amalia’s father earth-type spiritual art over drawing amulets.

Amalia’s father’s earth-type spiritual art lacked the defensive and offensive prowess of Amalia’s mother’s, so there was less urgency. As long as their cultivation gradually improved, their future progress in learning spiritual art wouldn’t be too slow.

However, drawing amulets was the immediate concern. Since there was a natural talent, time couldn’t be wasted on other miscellaneous things.

Initially, Amalia had wanted to return Amalia’s father and Amalia’s mother to their former business by giving them the supermarket property and the capital to run their own company.

But now, she felt there was no need to involve them in worldly affairs.

Still, she respected Amalia’s father and Amalia’s mother’s opinions and discussed the matter with them, allowing them to make their own choice.

Without hesitation, Amalia’s father declined. His dream had never been about business. Perhaps if he hadn’t blushed and looked at Amalia’s mother with a lecherous expression, it might have been more convincing.

Amalia’s mother remained composed. Her character was sharper than Amalia’s father’s, she was more suited to face challenges. With better options available, she naturally didn’t want to tread the old path again.

Business might rule the world, controlling the earth’s economic lifelines, but not everyone could achieve that. Without a background or support, one was destined to not go far. Cultivation, however, was different. It was battling against fate, and how far one could go depended on their destiny.

Seeing their determination, Amalia said little and directly transferred a substantial sum of money to them. She also handed over the property, and suggesting they could do something else with it.

It was time to move out of their current residence.

After briefing them on everything necessary, Amalia left the next day.

Upon entering the apartment, Amalia noticed the presence of Kenny Lin.

"How did you..." Amalia caught a whiff with an extremely strong bloody scent emanating from him.

His extraordinarily handsome face looked excessively otherworldly in the light, especially with his chin raised at that angle. It was exuding an air of arrogance that not only didn’t repel but made her heart beat faster.

She didn’t get a chance to finish her sentence as suddenly, there was a deafening rumble from outside, and the entire building began to tilt.

The screams from the building echoed from all sides, and plunging the neighborhood into panic.

Kenny Lin charged towards Amalia and pulled her onto the balcony. Right where he had been standing moments before, a flexible tentacle pierced through the floor and ceiling.

Amalia looked up at Kenny Lin’s perfect jawline. And said: "What’s happening?"

She thought the disaster was caused by Kenny Lin.

In fact, it wasn’t.

Kenny Lin didn’t answer, either because he had no time or didn’t want to respond.

The building was collapsed.

Their apartment was on a high floor, and if they didn’t descend in time, even with their high cultivation, they might not survive.

Looking out from the balcony, Amalia saw not only their collapsed building but also others in the neighborhood. Due to the angle, she couldn’t see the cause of the collapse beneath them, but she clearly witnessed the state of the other buildings.

Surprisingly, it was two giant octopus-like monsters whose densely packed tentacles pierced through the building’s foundation, and causing it to collapse and tilt.

The Octopus creatures Is belonged in the deep sea, so how did they end up in Big Apple City?

"Let’s get down first," Kenny Lin’s voice snapped her back.

As the building was collapsing, it didn’t pose much of a threat to them.

Amalia followed Kenny Lin as they jumped off the balcony, and landing on the similarly collapsed building opposite theirs.

They aimed to land smoothly on the ground using the protruding objects on the wall.

However, an anomaly occurred. Suddenly, the octopus monsters’ tentacles shot up from the ground, and changing the building’s collapse angle abruptly.

Amalia lost balance, and seemingly about to fall when Kenny Lin quickly grabbed her hand.

Then... both of them fell together.

"Damn it!" Amalia involuntarily cursed.

The spot they fell onto was the convergence of two collapsed buildings, meaning if they didn’t die from the fall, they might get crushed.

Wouldn’t it be too tragic to die like this?

Amalia didn’t want to meet such a miserable end. Immediately, she took out an artifact for self-rescue, but Kenny Lin was faster than her.

They landed on a barrier of an array but then slid to the ground.

Although they didn’t die from the fall, they were in a tight spot—crumbling walls trapped them in a crevice, and nearly impossible to turn over.

Pressed against Kenny Lin’s body, Amalia felt a solid wall at her back.

"So, these are the deep-sea monsters you mentioned?"

Now that she wasn’t dead, Amalia had a rough understanding of her situation and finally had the chance to inquire.

Kenny Lin remained silent.

Amalia had to tilt her head to look at him.

Kenny Lin head was probably resting against the stone above, and the two of them were now facing each others.

In the darkness, his eyes gleamed, even though it was dimly lit, Amalia could discern Kenny Lin’s features.

He was indeed, without a doubt, the most handsome person she had ever seen.
