Chapter 1040: Refining the Inverse Emperor Bell
Chapter 1040: Refining the Inverse Emperor Bell
If not for the black essence within Kenny Lin, she might have doubted the white essence’s existence entirely.
The Yin-Yang Pearl was a miraculous treasure, but for Kenny Lin, it might also become a deadly weapon.
"If Mystic Void Continent has nothing, then I’ll search the Devil Battlefield. I’ll find it no matter what!"
Amalia resolved herself, taking out the Inverse Emperor Bell she had set aside earlier.
The bell had finally stopped attempting to escape. Placed on the table, it remained quiet and still.
Amalia attempted to drip her blood onto it. The first two drops of blood were instantly absorbed by the bell.
"Not enough?"
She waited for a moment, but the bell showed no reaction. She dripped a few more drops, yet it remained silent.
"This Inverse Emperor Bell just absorbed my blood, so I know I’m doing it right. If so much blood isn’t enough... could it need heart’s blood instead?"
Amalia guessed that this might be the case and forced a drop of heart’s blood from her fingertip.
With a soft drip, the heart’s blood landed on the Inverse Emperor Bell.
The next moment, the bell absorbed the blood, vibrating intensely and clanging against the stone table with a series of sharp metallic sounds.
Amalia immediately summoned a cluster of flames in her palm, engulfing the Inverse Emperor Bell in fire.
The flames twisted and roared as the bell struggled to escape their grasp.
Amalia increased the intensity of the fire, and the bell’s resistance grew more violent. With a thunderous boom, the bell shattered the stone table into dust, and the floorboards of the small hut cracked under the pressure.
Kenny Lin was awakened by the commotion and saw the bell writhing within Amalia’s flames.
At that moment, a streak of black flame suddenly leaped from within the crimson fire.
The black flame, starkly distinct against the fiery backdrop, surged into the Inverse Emperor Bell in an instant.
The bell, which had been thrashing like an unruly child moments ago, fell eerily silent.
Amalia let out a breath, relaxing her control over the flames. Keeping the bell trapped while attempting to refine it had been an exhausting stalemate. This turn of events brought her relief, though she couldn’t fully grasp the implications.
She had a hunch about the black flame—it seemed connected to her chaos-type spiritual veins.
"The Inverse Emperor Bell truly lives up to its status as an ancient treasure. Such a masterpiece—given time, I doubt I could ever forge anything like it."
The materials used to create this divine bell likely couldn’t be found anywhere on the Mystic Void Continent.
Taking a deep breath to steady her mind, Amalia immediately began the process of refining the bell.
With the black flame inside the bell and the solarian flame refining it from the outside, the dual forces worked together. Before long, the refinement process was complete.
Without hesitation, Amalia bound the Inverse Emperor Bell to herself as one of her life-bound treasures.
Now, she had three life-bound treasures.
The defensive Inverse Emperor Bell, her personally crafted weapon, and the Soltice Ring, which served as a storage vessel for precious materials within her heart.
"How is it?" Kenny Lin finally spoke after she finished.
"The Inverse Emperor Bell is not only capable of trapping enemies, but it can also used for attack. If it rams into someone whose physical strength isn’t as sturdy, their body might shatter outright." Amalia sounded pleased with her new weapon. "And you? How are you feeling?"
"Not bad. Give me a bit more time, and I should break through to the peak of the Deity Transformation stage."
This was already an impressive pace, but Kenny Lin seemed dissatisfied, his expression devoid of excitement.
Amalia chuckled softly. "Let me finish refining the rest of the divine artifacts then."
Over the next three days, she devoted herself to refining the dozen divine artifacts she had previously obtained.
Although she hadn’t yet studied the incomplete artifact refining manual, her efforts revealed much about the internal structures of these artifacts.
The immense power of dicine artifacts wasn’t solely due to their superior materials compared to pseudo-divine artifacts; the refining techniques involved were also vastly different, demanding exceptional skill from their Artificers.
Had Amalia not studied the simplified version of the Heavenfall Annihilation Formation, she might not have understood the intricacies of the celestial artifacts even if they were placed right in front of her.
"Take these divine artifacts," Amalia said, handing five refined divine artifacts to Kenny Lin
Among them, three were weapons, while the other two included a set of armor and a shield.
For someone to possess five divine artifacts, only Kenny Lin could rival Amalia herself in such abundance.
Amalia also kept a set of armor and a shield, though only because Kenny Lin insisted. Otherwise, she wouldn’t have bothered taking them.
"What about that blade? What do you plan to do with it?" Kenny Lin asked casually after storing the artifacts.
Amalia immediately caught on to his train of thought. "The incomplete blade? I plan to keep it for now. Perhaps I’ll find a way to make use of it in the future." She currently didn’t have enough materials to work with.
"I’m planning to head down the mountain today to meet the Peak Master of the Artificer Peak. Are you coming with me?" Amalia asked, having packed up all her belongings and stood to leave.
Without hesitation, Kenny Lin rose to his feet. "Do you even need to ask?"
He was more concerned about the potential issues with the Soltice Ring and whether it might affect Amalia. He wanted to hear the Peak Master’s opinion directly, as he suspected Amalia might try to conceal anything troubling from him.
The two of them descended the mountain together. When they passed the main peak, it was eerily quiet. A brief inquiry revealed that most of the disciples had gone into seclusion upon returning.
Even those who hadn’t participated in the Path of All Immortals expedition were spurred into diligent cultivation, inspired by their seniors’ example. This explained the unusual tranquility on the main peak.
