Chapter 1027: Master Lian Appeared (Part 2)

"Master, you didn’t come here for me?" Kenny Lin furrowed his brows, assuming his master had rushed here specifically because he sensed his peril.

"Partly," Master Lian admitted without hesitation. "I did foresee danger for you but also saw that you would emerge unscathed. My main reason for coming is related to the Path of All Immortals."

Kenny Lin gestured toward Taipai Wuying. "If you hadn’t arrived, that old vulture might’ve acted against us."

The so-called "old vulture" Taipai Wuying glared, his eyes brimming with brewing murderous intent.

"He wouldn’t dare," Master Lian replied with a glance at the enraged Taipai Wuying. "If he did, I’d storm the Eternal One Sect myself. They couldn’t bear the cost of such a loss."

Kenny Lin’s eyes lit up. "Wow, Master is that powerful? That means one day, I could storm the Eternal One Sect too!"

Unaware of his disciple’s thoughts, Master Lian chuckled. "What’s this? Did you think your master incapable of such feats?"

"Of course not. That sword strike earlier was amazing. You’ll have to teach me someday," Kenny Lin said eagerly.

"It’s too early for you," Master Lian replied with a faint smile.

Their casual banter left the younger disciples watching in a state of awe and confusion. For them, simply standing calmly before a figure as supreme as Master Lian would’ve been an accomplishment. But to converse with him as casually as Kenny Lin did? That was utterly unimaginable.

Only now did they realize that this was the norm for Kenny Lin when interacting with Master Lian.

Their exchanges, seemingly lighthearted and informal, lacked the barriers imposed by seniority. It was more like the easy warmth of family.

"Taipai Wuying, consider that sword strike compensation for delaying my disciple’s treatment. As for the matter of saving lives, we’ll settle that another time," Master Lian said casually.

His divine sense, vast and unparalleled, pieced together fragmented information to grasp the situation’s entirety in mere moments.

"Saving lives? It was merely a mutual effort to survive," Taipai Wuying replied darkly, his expression as black as the bottom of a pot. That a renowned top-tier powerhouse would stoop so low as to use this incident to extort them was almost unbelievable.

The longer they stayed, the more likely Master Lian would find additional excuses to extract concessions.

"We’re leaving!" Taipai Wuying commanded brusquely.

He then led the disciples of the Eternal One Sect away quickly, and their flying boat soon disappeared from sight.

"Master, we could force them to hand over everything they took from the Path of All Immortals," Kenny Lin suggested, already calculating how to extort the Eternal One Sect.

Master Lian smiled and shook his head at his remark, finding his serious tone amusing. "The treasures within the Path of All Immortals are all divine artifacts. Even the simplest of them far surpassed the resources you can found across Mystic Void Continent. The Eternal One Sect treasures these dearly. Even if we were to confront them, they would not willingly hand them over."

"Besides, with the great enemy looming, there will be plenty of time to settle accounts in the future."

"So you were just bluffing to scare them," Kenny Lin said, his interest immediately waning.

"Not entirely bluffing," Master Lian replied. "If Amalia had refused to leave and insisted on stirring up trouble, I would have had no choice but to retaliate. This time, the injury to Mao Baobao and the events on Ten Thousand Floating Island will balance our accounts."

With a motion, he sheathed his sword and resting one hand behind his back as he stood gracefully against the wind.

"You may think it’s settled, Master, but they likely won’t see it that way," Kenny Lin remarked, unconvinced that the Eternal One Sect would let matters rest.

"What they think is their concern," Master Lian replied with a dismissive wave of his hand. "Enough. It’s time for you all to leave."

"Master, surely there’s more to your reason for coming to the Path of All Immortals. Why not share it with me? Perhaps I can help," Kenny Lin said with a sly smile.

Master Lian chuckled softly. "And what do you think you know?"

"Oh, I know plenty. The real question is which topic you’d like me to elaborate on," Kenny Lin replied, feigning nonchalance.

Master Lian gave him a long, penetrating look. "I underestimated you."

"Not at all. I just happen to know a few secrets here and there. Unlike the rest of these juniors, your usual ’it’s not something you need to know yet’ won’t work on me."

If there had been a chair nearby, Amalia had no doubt Kenny Lin would have sat down and crossed his legs as if he were a lord addressing his vassals.

Kenny Lin certainly seemed to know more than Amalia, at least. After all, he’d clearly seen something she hadn’t—the stone tablet at the Immortal Lord Donghua’s residence.

Amalia sighed softly and transmitted her thoughts to Master Lian. "Master Lian, I encountered an old lady in the Path of All Immortals."

This statement confirmed for Master Lian that they had indeed learned things others hadn’t. He waved his hand and creating a barrier around the three of them.

"Which path did you take after entering the Path of All Immortals?"

"I followed the Path of Chaos, while Kenny took the Path of Yin and Yang," Amalia answered truthfully.

Master Lian’s expression grew solemn. "I see. That explains much. It seems there’s no need to linger here any longer. Let us return to the sect first and discuss this further."

He dispelled the barrier with another wave of his hand.

At that moment, the Fairy Girl Ahyeon Xuan appeared, she landing gracefully nearby and bowing her head slightly.

"Master Lian, it has been many years. I remain ever grateful for your intervention back then. Without your help, I would not be standing here today."

Hearing this, Hayeon Ren who was standing behind them, revealed a trace of surprise. She hadn’t known her master had once been saved by Master Lian. The revelation painted a new light on their past.

"Are you Ahyeon Xuan?" Master Lian asked, her gaze shifting to the Fairy Girl Ahyeon Xuan.
