Chapter 1025: Big Battle (Part 2)
"No," Kenny Lin replied without hesitation.
"Oh..." Renshu Chang murmured, relieved. Surely, he wasn’t referring to Amalia.
"I was referring to the entire Eternal One Sect," Kenny Lin added.
Renshu Chang froze, sweat forming on his brow.
Kenny Lin propped up one leg, resting his arm on his knee. "Do you all think that the slash that Amalia just executed was truly the Eighth Strike of the Eight Gods Blade?"
"Didn’t Amalia herself say so?"
"And you believed her just because she said it?" Kenny Lin shot Renshu Chang a contemptuous glance.
Renshu Chang was nearly driven mad by his martial uncle’s teasing, which stopped just short of an explanation every time. "Martial Uncle, I can’t guess! Please, just tell us already! Everyone else is curious too."
Only then, with great benevolence, did Kenny Lin explain, "That strike wasn’t the true Eighth Strike. She deliberately held back the real power of the Eighth Strike and integrated her own insights into it instead."
Renshu Chang clicked his tongue. "Not the real Eighth Strike? Just an insight? And it’s still that powerful?"
"Do you think Amalia’s insights are something you can just buy off the roadside?"
Renshu Chang coughed lightly. That metaphor, really? Sure, maybe they weren’t, but they weren’t something you’d find in a fancy store either.
"Just watch. Temujin Lei will pay a bloody price for underestimating her."
Kenny Lin’s lips curved into a faint smile.
Seeing the familiar confidence return to Martial Uncle Zhongli, Renshu Chang exhaled in relief.
No one had ever witnessed the true Eighth Strike of the Eight Gods Blade—not even the Eternal One Sect. So they couldn’t know that what Amalia had just displayed wasn’t the genuine Eighth Strike.
To unleash the true Eighth Strike required blood and life as the cost. For just a mere skirmish, there was no way Amalia would expend herself to that extent. They weren’t worth it.
In the heat of battle, Amalia suddenly closed her eyes. The currents of energy swirling around her blade intensified, rolling violently, yet no attack came.
Temujin Lei hesitated for a moment, caught off guard by the unexpected move. Then, a wave of fury surged within him. He didn’t know what his opponent was planning, but to close her eyes in the middle of a fight? Such behavior was nothing short of an insult to him.
Temujin Lei let out a furious roar, and his aura surged to its peak in an instant.
His energy transformed into a fierce beast, roaring at Amalia, its image condensing into a tiger in midair. The tiger’s eyes gleamed with murderous intent, emanating a suffocating pressure.
Temujin Lei’s figure flashed near Amalia as he raised his blade.
The tiger let out a deafening roar, charging toward Amalia along with his strike.
Amalia suddenly opened her eyes. What she saw was no longer the ordinary world, but a realm filled with interwoven threads of rules and principles.
Without even making a move, the space around her began to tremble faintly, emitting creaks as though being compressed.
"Not good!" Elder Wong, who was engaged in battle with Tan Kai, suddenly turned pale. His gaze snapped toward Amalia, noticing the violent ripples spreading in the space around her.
If Temujin Lei clashed with her now, even if he survived, he’d be left barely clinging to life.
"Just realizing now? It’s too late," Tan Kai said with a sly smile, blocking Elder Wong’s path.
Elder Wong’s face darkened. "Tan Kai, must your Green Lotus Sect fight the Eternal One Sect to the death for satisfaction?"
"It’s your Eternal One Sect that has escalated this to a life-or-death battle," Tan Kai replied with a light laugh. "If Mao Baobao hadn’t deliberately obstructed us earlier, none of this would have happened. Everything you face now is your own doing."
Tan Kai’s expression turned icy as he continued, "Do you truly believe that the Green Lotus Sect’s reputation as the number one sect on Mystic Void Continent is just an empty title? Do you think we will tolerate being trampled on by you again and again? A tiger that doesn’t show its power will indeed be mistaken for a sick cat. But today, your tears—no matter what—you’ll have to swallow them yourselves!"
"Sect Leader! Great Elder!" Elder Wong, unable to free himself, shouted for help. He could feel that Tan Kai was getting serious this time.
The Sect Leader was entangled with two opponents and couldn’t break free. Meanwhile, Yokhunan Shao was being restrained by Peak Master Bomen, completely immobilized.
As a formation master, Yokhunan Shao excelled at trapping enemies unless he had extraordinary abilities to counter it.
Neither of them could intervene, and others from the Eternal One Sect were too far away to make it in time.
The tiger conjured by Temujin Lei’s energy let out a terrified roar as it approached Amalia, its form shattered inch by inch by the gleaming blade light. The tiger’s energy collapsed entirely, unable to sustain itself.
Temujin Lei’s eyes widened in shock as he witnessed his most powerful strike being dismantled effortlessly. His gaze reflected both unwillingness and fear.
He quickly summoned a defensive shield, but it lasted less than a second before the blade light pierced through, striking him directly.
"No!" Temujin Lei’s scream echoed from within the engulfing blade light.
Amalia’s lips curved into a slow smile, but her expression shifted abruptly.
A giant hand materialized silently above the blade light without any warning.
The next second, the giant hand plucked the lifeless-looking Temujin Lei from within the blade light.
From high above, a cold snort echoed across the sky.
Amalia immediately felt as though a pair of eyes were fixed on her, scrutinizing her inside and out, leaving no secrets unexposed. The presence exuded a distinct, undisguised killing intent.
But that wasn’t the most critical part. The cold snort transformed into a sharp, silver needle, piercing straight into her mind.
Kenny Lin instantly noticed the change and attempted to sit up and rush to Amalia’s side.
