Chapter 1024: Big Battle (Part 1)
A damaged Yin-Yang Pearl would never have been able to release such an immense amount of energy.
Once energy accumulates excessively, the Yin-Yang Pearl would struggle to contain it, potentially causing the cracks on its surface to widen.
After stabilizing himself, Kenny Lin asked, "How are you doing?"
"I’m fine," Amalia said, wiping the blood from the corner of her mouth.
Kenny Lin opened his eyes. "You shielded me from the last strike, didn’t you?"
"Don’t overthink it," Amalia replied casually. "You see me standing here, don’t you? It’s nothing serious."
Kenny Lin wanted to ask about the matter concerning the Soltice ring but knew this wasn’t the right time.
Seeing that he was no longer in mortal danger, Amalia finally let out a deep breath, her nerves easing. She gripped her blade and walked back to face Temujin Lei of the Eternal One Sect.
"Temujin Lei!" she called out. "Do you have the courage to come out and fight me?"
"In the past, your sect mate Jiheon Yang used late Body Formation stage cultivation to fight me when I was at the peak of the Nascent Soul stage. Now, I am at the middle of deity transformation stage, challenging you, who is also at middle of the deity formation stage. Do you dare or not?"
A murmur of astonishment rippled through the crowd.
Until she mentioned it, many had forgotten that before entering the Path of All Immortals, Amalia had only just broken through to the Body Formation stage.
Now, in merely a month, she had already reached the middle of Deity Transformation stage. Her cultivation had progressed at a speed akin to climbing an immortal ladder.
Before she unleashed the Eighth Slash of the Eight Gods Blade, people might have assumed her rapid advancement would lead to instability, preventing her from wielding the true strength of her realm. But now, no one thought so anymore.
Amalia had injured Mao Baobao, the sect leader himself. Her strength surpassed that of a typical cultivators at the middle of the Deity Formation stage.
All eyes turned to Temujin Lei, waiting to see if this Eternal One Sect prodigy would dare accept Amalia’s challenge after witnessing her combat prowess.
Temujin Lei’s face turned an ashen green. The public provocation infuriated him, but refusing the challenge would tarnish his reputation across the Mystic Void Continent.
"Why wouldn’t I dare?" Temujin Lei spat. "Jiheon Yang does not represent me. You only dare challenge me now because you’re relying on our Eternal One Sect’s Eight Gods Blade. Your strength means nothing—it’s only proof of the Eight Gods Blade’s power. If I had mastered the Eighth Slash, killing you would be effortless!"
"The Eight Gods Blade of the Eternal One Sect is powerful?" Amalia sneered coldly. "Don’t you already know the truth about your blade?"
"You, Temujin Lei, have also studied the Eight Gods Blade, but tell me—can your Seventh Slash compare to my Seventh Slash in power?"
As her voice trailed off, Amalia’s aura surged dramatically.
A sharp and ferocious energy enveloped her blade, crackling and sparking like electricity in the friction between her power and the blade itself.
"You all can see it—you just don’t want to admit it," Amalia said, her tone cutting. "The Eight Gods Blade I’ve learned is not the same as the one you’ve learned."
"Because admitting it would mean acknowledging that Elder Eight Gods’ technique pales in comparison to the Eight Gods Blade I wield."
"Nonsense!" roared the Eternal One Sect Leader, his fury igniting as he struggled against the joint assault of Elder Wang and Peak Master Huoyan.
"It is nonsense," Temujin Lei declared, stepping forward with his blade. His brows furrowed, and the lines between them trembled slightly with anger. "The technique you’re using is clearly our Eternal One Sect’s Eight Gods Blade. How could it be different? You simply refuse to admit it!"
"The difference in power speaks for itself," Amalia countered coldly. "Unless, of course, you’re ready to admit that your innate talent and aptitude simply don’t compare to mine."
Temujin Lei’s face darkened at once. To claim his talents were inferior to Amalia’s? What a joke!
"Today, I won’t even need the Eight Gods Blade to defeat you," Amalia said, the blade in her hand vibrating softly. "Just as I didn’t need it to defeat Ruma Yang in the Double Cavern Secret Realm."
Her remark was met with disdain. The people of the Eternal One Sect always assumed that her strength was solely due to the Eight Gods Blade, failing to realize that true power lies not in the technique but in the resolve of the wielder.
"Without the Eight Gods Blade?" Temujin Lei laughed scornfully. "Arrogance will be your downfall. Without it, you’ll surely lose today!"
In the crowd of Eternal One Sect disciples, Ruma Yang’s expression grew complicated. This scene felt all too familiar.
Once, he had thought just as Temujin Lei did—that without the Eight Gods Blade, Amalia couldn’t possibly win. And yet, the bitter truth had struck him when she utterly defeated him, blade or no blade.
Part of him wanted to warn Temujin Lei not to underestimate her. But he hesitated.
To voice such a caution now, in front of the Sect Leader and elders, would only demoralize their side. Temujin Lei wouldn’t appreciate it either. There was no need to bring trouble upon himself.
"Foolish and ignorant," came a cold, detached voice from behind, cutting through the tension.
Everyone turned to see Kenny Lin approaching, his expression as composed as ever.
"Martial Uncle, are you alright now?" someone asked tentatively.
"Do I look alright?" Kenny Lin shot him a sharp glance. "Why don’t you try enduring what I just did and then tell me how quickly you recover?"
Renshu Chang scratched his nose awkwardly, usually he saw the strong side of his Martial incle, and now looking him in such a weakened state making him felt uncomfortable for a while.
"By the way, Martial Uncle, what did you mean by that remark just now? Were you talking about Temujin Lei?"
