"That wretched creature!" The devil leader was both shocked and furious. Their plan hadn’t even begun, yet it had already been exposed. Now, even if they tried to lay low, these humans wouldn’t let them go.

"How dare you!" Mino Pei’s face twisted with anger as he struck out with his palm.

But the devil’s attack was faster.

"Mino Pei!" Jinwoo Zhang’s senior brother, who stood nearby, was both furious and alarmed. He hadn’t anticipated Mino Pei pulling such a stunt at a critical moment. While he desperately wanted to intervene, the distance made it impossible.

Suddenly, a powerful force came from the side, slamming into the devil and sending it flying. Moments later, the devil met the same fate as the first—obliterated.

"Thank you, Amalia," Jinwoo Zhang said, still shaken as he expressed his gratitude to the one who saved him in the nick of time.

"No need to thank me. Just be more careful next time," Amalia said, her tone calm but sharp as her gaze deliberately landed on Mino Pei.

"I’ve learned my lesson after this," Jinwoo Zhang replied with a wry smile.

"What’s that supposed to mean?" Mino Pei’s expression darkened as he demanded an explanation.

"What it means should be obvious, shouldn’t it?" Jinwoo Zhang’s senior brother, Geonwoo Yang, sneered. "Amalia was far away, yet she managed to step in and save Jinwoo Zhang. You were barely a meter away, and if not for deliberate inaction, who’d believe otherwise? Jinwoo Zhang has always treated you like a senior brother, and this is how you repay him? Fine. Once we leave this place, I’ll make sure to report this matter to the sect."

"How was I supposed to know that devil would suddenly attack Jinwoo Zhang? I was just a little slow to react. Yet you slap such a heavy accusation on me? Maybe you’re the one being intentional! You’ve never liked me anyway!" Mino Pei retorted with a grim expression.

Elsewhere, Seonho Ming, who had been humiliated earlier, withdrew into silence, not daring to speak again for fear that everyone was still dwelling on his misstep.
