Chapter 1000: Heavenly Hall and Earthly Hall (Part 3)
"Now you’re siding with outsiders to bully me?" Kenny Lin feigned a hurt tone.
"Everyone’s watching—enough with the act," Amalia transmitted her voice to him.
Kenny Lin shot a glance at the group. "If not for Amalia’s sake..."
He chuckled coldly, making it clear he had no interest in their survival otherwise.
"Yes, yes, it’s all thanks to martial aunt’s favor," Renshu Chang quickly chimed in, adept at pandering to Kenny Lin’s moods and interests.
"You ask, and I’ll answer. Otherwise, how am I supposed to know where to begin with so much to say?" Kenny Lin turned to Amalia as he spoke.
Everyone froze. Did he really know that much?
Amalia, however, wasn’t convinced. The drama king had only mentioned visiting Immortal Lord Donghua’s residence, taking a stone tablet and a few divine artifacts. It was unlikely the stone tablet contained secrets of the immortal palace.
"What exactly are these ’good things’ you’re talking about?"
"What else could it be besides the Immortal Spring?" Kenny Lin leaned casually against the wall, looking completely unbothered.
"Didn’t you say earlier that the Immortal Spring was outside that gate?" Wonji Hong interjected, unable to hold back his skepticism. This person’s statements were full of contradictions.
Kenny Lin gave him a sidelong glance. "When did I ever say the Immortal Spring was beyond that gate?"
Wonji Hong paused, realizing Kenny Lin hadn’t said that outright. He had only mentioned the opening time of the Immortal Spring.
"Besides," Kenny Lin continued, "whether passing through that gate leads to the inside or the outside isn’t certain yet."
This statement left everyone stunned.
"Martial Uncle, are you implying that the Heavenly Hall is actually within the Immortal Palace’s inner area?" Renshu Chang quickly asked. If that were true, it would be monumental.
Everyone else was just as anxious, but no one dared to press Kenny Lin further. They could only look at him with desperation.
Kenny Lin observed their reactions with interest. "You all know this is the Heavenly Hall. Why haven’t you considered the meaning of ’heaven and earth’? Heaven comes first, right? If this is the Heavenly Hall, then perhaps outside is the Earthly Hall. Why would you assume the Heavenly Hall is the outer perimeter?"
"I remember that when we entered the Immortal Palace, we were teleported here directly," Amalia said. "We don’t know the exact location we were sent to. If the Heavenly Hall is part of the inner area, then we were teleported straight into the core of the Immortal Palace."
"However, the reason everyone assumes the Heavenly Hall is the outer area might have to do with the strength of the wandering spirits here."
By general logic, stronger wandering spirits tend to guard more important areas.
The areas related to the Immortal Spring are undoubtedly the most crucial places. This subconscious belief leads them to think that the Immortal Spring wouldn’t be here and that the Heavenly Hall isn’t an important location.
"Could it be that the Immortal Palace operates contrary to expectations?" Yunse Qiao was utterly shocked by this thought.
Kenny Lin glanced at Amalia.
Understanding his signal, Amalia asked, "What exactly is the situation?"
Kenny Lin crossed his arms over his chest and explained, "These wandering spirits should not exist. The Immortal Palace is the residence of the Immortal Emperor, and how could it possibly allow these spirits to offend its sanctity? Therefore, the stronger wandering spirits are excluded from the Heavenly Hall."
"If we assume the Heavenly Hall is the deepest part of the Immortal Palace, then the tokens that transported us here hold great significance. They can break the restrictions of the Immortal Palace, allowing the stronger wandering spirits to enter the Heavenly Hall. That’s why they’re all coming out in full force to seize the tokens."
"I understand now," Jirandal Tang interjected. "The Deity Transformation stage wandering spirits no longer pose a threat to us, and the Body Integration stage spirits can’t enter. With the Immortal Spring space about to open, they’ve become desperate. This must be their plan—to lure us out of the Heavenly Hall. Once we step into the Earthly Hall, where they can move freely, we’ll be fish in a barrel."
"So, this is all just your speculation. You don’t have to believe me," Kenny Lin said with a faint smile, his gaze sweeping across them.
No one responded, not even Wonji Hong, who had initially raised objections. He remained silent.
The analysis provided by Kenny Lin and Jirandal Tang wasn’t unfounded, and everyone present was capable of thinking for themselves. Otherwise, they wouldn’t have made it this far, even as chosen prodigies.
The clue had already been revealed: powerful wandering spirits couldn’t enter the Heavenly Hall.
If the Heavenly Hall were merely the outer perimeter of the Immortal Palace, why couldn’t the strong wandering spirits come out?
"So, do we just wait here for the Immortal Spring to open?" Chohwan Jin asked.
"I’m afraid not. Over in the Earthly Hall, someone has probably already broken through the Heavenly Hall. The powerful wandering spirits definitely won’t give up this rare opportunity."
When Jirandal Tang said this, the atmosphere instantly grew heavy. If Body Integration stage wandering spirits broke into the Heavenly Hall, they would all be in grave danger.
"We should’ve just stopped them right from the start!" someone in the crowd angrily exclaimed.
Thinking about how the disciples of Eternal One Sect and Demonic Night Sect had caused this—they had turned the Heavenly Hall, once a secure and advantageous space, into a potential death trap by introducing Body Integration stage wandering spirits—resentment toward them deepened.
"It’s too late to say that now," Jirandal Tang replied calmly. "Even if we tried to stop them, fighting them wouldn’t benefit us. Moreover, we can’t guarantee that tokens haven’t already fallen into the hands of the wandering spirits in the Earthly Hall."
"Exactly. What about the tomens belonging to the disciples killed by wandering spirits earlier? We’ve killed plenty of wandering spirits ourselves, but we haven’t found a single token on them. There’s at least a 90% chance the tokens are now with the Earthly Hall’s wandering spirits," Seongwoo Jin added in agreement.
