Forced to Marry the Sickly Billionaire -
Chapter 154 Flavor Pavilion
Chapter 154: Chapter 154 Flavor Pavilion
Brandon Reese pondered for a moment and said, "Sir, although you really haven’t done enough, there’s still a chance in the future! Knowing your mistakes and correcting them, nothing could be better."
Lucas Shaw slowly lifted his eyes, those bottomless eyes slightly narrowing with a glint of murderous intent.
Brandon’s scalp tingled, as he awkwardly said, "It was you who said it, I’m just repeating it!"
Lucas Shaw withdrew his gaze, closed the document in front of him, picked up the suit jacket from the chair, and headed towards the door.
"Sir, where are you going?" Brandon followed behind him, asking.
"To the Continental Villa, to apologize."
When he arrived at the Continental Villa, Lucas Shaw knocked on Edward Selwyn’s front door.
Once again, a maid came to open the door.
From her, Lucas Shaw learned that Serena Summers had woken up, and his heart leapt for joy.
"May I go in to see her?" Lucas Shaw asked with eager anticipation, his deep black eyes filled with a burning desire.
"This..." the maid hesitated.
Brandon immediately clarified, "Do you know who our sir is? Our sir is the husband of your miss. They are lawfully wed, and you have no right to stop us from seeing the lady!"
"Oh, so you are..." the maid looked Lucas Shaw up and down with a dawning realization.
Just as Brandon heaved a sigh of relief, the maid snorted coldly and slammed the door shut, "Our master said that if someone claiming to be our miss’s husband came here, we must absolutely not let you in."
Lucas Shaw: "..."
Brandon: "..."
The two stood outside the closed door, exchanging helpless glances with frustration evident in Lucas Shaw’s eyes.
Gazing at the tightly shut door, Lucas Shaw suddenly felt a surge of powerlessness wash over him.
"Sir, it’s getting late, why don’t you go have something to eat?" Brandon suggested after standing at the door with Lucas Shaw for a long time, watching as the sky darkened and lights inside the villa lit up, but still not catching a glimpse of Serena Summers.
Lucas Shaw stood in front of the door, his posture straight, eyes unblinking and fixed on the villa, as if trying to pierce through the thick walls to see the person inside.
"Call the manager of Flavor Pavilion and have them prepare some of the food the missus usually likes to eat. Remember, nothing too greasy."
Brandon nodded, pulling out his phone to make the call.
Flavor Pavilion is a culinary brand under Shaw Group and also a leading name in S city’s dining scene.
Many people, despite having the money, can’t manage to dine there; reservations are already booked three months in advance.
However, they’re also the owners of the establishment, naturally able to dine whenever they please.
It wasn’t long before the staff of Flavor Pavilion hurried over with thermal containers.
About five or six people, each carrying a container, got out of the car and walked respectfully to Lucas Shaw, "Sir, your meal has arrived."
"Mhm," Lucas Shaw glanced indifferently at the thermal boxes before pressing the doorbell.
After a short while, the maid came out again, looking apologetic, "Why are you still here? Our master said you’re not allowed in; please go back."
Lucas Shaw pointed a finger at the people behind him, his voice cold, "I won’t go in, but let them in. I have prepared some of Serena’s favorite dishes."
The maid followed the direction of Lucas Shaw’s finger with surprise widening her eyes.
She wasn’t mistaken, right? It was actually a delivery from Flavor Pavilion.
Their dishes are so sought-after that they’re worth their weight in gold. Previously, every time the miss wanted to eat there, someone had to make a reservation in advance.
Never did she think that Lucas Shaw could actually get the staff of Flavor Pavilion to deliver food directly.
Surely, in the entire S city, there couldn’t be a second person who could have this kind of treatment, right?
For a moment, the maid didn’t know how to decide but eventually nodded slowly, "Alright, come on in. The miss hasn’t eaten anything all day; she’s probably hungry by now."
Worried expressions appeared on Lucas Shaw’s face when he heard this.
He wanted to ask more about Serena, but in the end, he swallowed the questions back down.
The people from Flavor Pavilion didn’t know what had happened, feeling a bit embarrassed for a moment.
"Well... Second Master, we’ll go in first then," they said.
Lucas Shaw nodded, watching as they went inside, only capable of watching.
Brandon stood behind Lucas Shaw, looking at his figure, suddenly sensing an added touch of loneliness and desolation on him.
But, there was nothing he seemed to be able to do.
Upstairs, Serena Summers got out of bed, pacing back and forth in her room.
Under Edward Selwyn’s orders, the maid didn’t let her take even a step outside the room. After lying down for so long, she just felt stiff all over.
Without some movement, she thought she might stiffen up completely.
At that moment, a slight noise came from outside the room.
The next second, the maid walked in, followed by five or six other people.
"Miss, are you hungry? This is the meal delivered from Flavor Pavilion; please have a little bit, otherwise, the master and Mr. Shaw will worry about you."
"Flavor Pavilion?"
Serena raised an eyebrow in surprise and turned her gaze to the people behind the maid, "Did my brother invite them?"
"No, it’s Mr. Shaw..." the maid pointed toward the window, telling the truth, "Mr. Shaw has been waiting outside for a long time, but the master won’t let him come in to see you."
"He’s here? I’ll go out to see him."
Serena’s eyes lit up as she rushed towards the door disregarding everything.
The maid’s eyelids twitched fiercely, stopping her immediately, "Miss, please don’t make it difficult for us. If the master comes back and finds out you’ve gone to see Mr. Shaw, he’ll definitely dock our pay."
Serena stopped in her tracks, inhaling a frustrated breath before irritably sitting down on the bed.
"Miss, would you like to see if there’s anything you like?"
"I’m not eating; I’m full of anger!"
"Miss... Would it be okay if you ate a little bit? Otherwise, the master and Mr. Shaw will worry."
Serena’s puffy cheeks immediately deflated like a balloon letting out air.
She stared round-eyed at the dishes, ultimately succumbing with resignation, "What dishes are there?"
The staff from Flavor Pavilion immediately opened the boxes, presenting them to Serena, one by one.
Everything was her favorite and tailored to a light taste.
Gazing at the food, a warmth spread through Serena’s heart.
She wasn’t hungry at all but still casually selected a nourishing soup and took a few sips.
Without much appetite, even her favorite soup now seemed hard to swallow.
Disinterested, she set down the spoon and pushed the bowl away, "I’m not drinking anymore; full."
The staff exchanged glances, helplessly saying, "Madam, the master instructed us to make sure you finish it. Could you drink a bit more?"
"I can’t drink it!" Serena’s face was scribed with rejection.
The staff, having no option, painstakingly gathered their things and left.
Lucas Shaw still stood waiting outside; seeing them come out so soon, he couldn’t help but frown deeply.
"What happened? Didn’t she eat?"
