First Demonic Dragon
Chapter 974 - 974: Come Along! (Not You)

Courtney couldn't decide on what she was supposed to pack.

Whenever she took vacations, her mom usually helped her get her clothes together since she was five years old.

But somehow, she doubted that she was going to be that lucky this time around.

"Fucking Darius... Who is he to say that I can't go if I don't feel like it...? He doesn't get to veto me... bitch-ass..."

Lailah was sprawled across Courtney's bed in a state of disarray. Her head rested in her oldest daughter, Thea's, lap.

"It's alright, Mom." Thea comforted. You already got to spend a whole honeymoon with dad. You can let his friends have him for just a-"

"No, I cant!" Lailah wailed.

Affection was the drug that Lailah lived her life on, and more often than not, Abaddon was her best supplier.

Every year when he left on this stupid trip, Lailah walked around the house like a shell of herself.

This year, everyone had thought that the trip would be off since they clearly weren't in a state for vacations. But apparently, Satan and Darius were adamant that tradition must persist.

And Lailah still wasn't allowed to go. For whatever unfair reason.

Suddenly, Audrina poked her head out of the shadows on the floor like a bewitching wack-a-mole.

"Chin up, dear. Maybe we can do something while all the boys are gone. Like a girls' trip."

Lailah's ears perked up. "...Can we bring our husband?"

Audrina's brow twitched. "...Babe-"

"Then no!" Lailha wailed again.

Audrina looked unamused. "Come on now, can't you follow our daughter's example? She's not crying, and she's going to lose Jazmine for a week."

Lailah looked up at her daughter for an explanation. Usually, they were in tears together at around this time.

Where was the solidarity?

"Well... Since Jazmine is taking the twins with her, the rest of us will have a bit of a break, so... let's just say that I'm willing to make a sacrifice this year."

Audrina found her words humorous. "You've never been away from. Your children for longer than a few hours or so, correct?"

"Well, yeah."

Audrina and Lailah gave each other knowing looks.

"W-What are those faces for!?"

""Nothing.""

"Liars! Why do I feel like you're waiting for something to happen to me?"

""It's your imagination.""

"Imagination my ass!"

Courtney was busy stuffing clothes into her suitcase when she suddenly paused. "Do you guys think that Dad would let Aj come?"

Now, Thea, Audrina, and Lailah were exchanging knowing looks with each other.

But Courtney had no shame. Yes, she wanted to spend time with her boyfriend, and if there was a way to do that, then she was going to ask about it.

"Well, you're certainly welcome to ask your Uncle Darius about it." Audrina yawned. "But be warned, it's highly likely that you won't-"

"Thanks, Mom, you're the best!" Courtney kissed both of her mothers on the cheek and then bolted out the door as soon as she put her slides on.

Audrina shook her head helplessly as she lifted herself out of the floor and began packing Courtney's suitcase herself.

"What kind of teenager can't pack a suitcase for themselves..?" She sighed. "Our daughter's about to be 20 for crying out loud."

Lailah chuckled as she rolled out of Thea's lap to help her wife pack. "Well, maybe it's my fault because I like helping her." She shrugged. "She's one of the few grateful children that we have."

Thea looked up from her phone. "I'm the other one, right, mother?"

Lailah and Audrina ignored her.

"Hey!" She exclaimed.

The pair of wives fell into a giggling fit at their daughter's expense.

But there was a moment when Audrina noticed that she was the only one laughing.

"Darling?"

She looked to her side and found Lailah frozen in place.

Her body was twitching slightly, and her eyes had rolled into the back of her head.

"M-Mom!" Thea started to get up, but Audrina held up her hand to stop her.

Unlike her daughter, Audrina did not panic when she noticed Lailah was not herself.

Instead, she cupped her lover's face in her hands and gently stroked her cheeks with the pads of her thumbs.

She was patient and made not a single move to rush her or intrude on her mind.

And when Lailah's eyes returned to normal, she was there to greet her with a warm smile.

"Welcome back, my dear. What did you see?"

Even though Lailah wanted to meet her smile with one of her own, for the first time ever, she could not.

-

Courtney ran all the way to the main common area, where the sound of men's voices was the loudest aside from Karliah's bedroom.

There, her father, grandfather, brothers, and uncles were all in attendance with their bags packed.

Jazmine was also here, carrying two twins on each of her shoulders.

Now, they were just making sure they had the essentials. (Liquor and cigars.)

"Ah, there she is." Abaddon smiled when he saw his daughter enter. "Packed a little light, didn't we?"

"I'm not sharing my underwear with you." Belloc said firmly.

Courtney snorted. "I'm sure it would be too tight around the crotch anyway."

An explosion of cheers and oohs drowned every corner of the room.

Darius dropped his arm around Courtney and shook her proudly. "Now that's the stuff, missy! You're fitting in just fine already!"

Courtney smiled bashfully. "A-About that, I'm almost ready to go, but I just wanted to know if it was okay for me to invite AJ along?"

Darius let out an amused whistle.

He turned towards the room full of men (and Jazmine) and held out his arms. "What say the council?!"

"YAY!"

"Nay." Belloc grumbled.

"Motion passes!" Darius decreed.

Courtney beamed with pride as she pulled out her phone to make the call.

"Ah, ah, ah, hold on there, missy." Hajun covered her phone screen with his hand before she could finish. "First things first, you should know that this won't be no cutesy couple's trip. This is a bonding experience."

Courtney nodded seriously. "Understood."

"Good. Repeated instances of pda will result in us having to stand guard between you and the little human boy at any given time. Just like we have to do for those two deviants over there."

Hajun pointed to Absalom and Belphegor, who were notably sitting with Apophis, Iori, and Zheng between them.

"Got it. No pda." Courtney nodded seriously.

"Atta' girl." Helios raised a glass in her honor. "This is shaping up to be a fine trip already."

It seemed as though this year's guys' trip was surely going to be one for the ages.

And while that was true, it would not go the way that everyone here had expected.

"Got one more here for you!"

Suddenly, a new figure burst into the hall, lugging a man behind her.

"Make sure I get him back in one piece, would you?" Yemaja smiled.

Behind her, Ziz was apparently a bundle of nerves as he rubbed the back of his head.

"Umm... hey, everyone."

Understandably, the temperature within the room surged to an uncomfortable degree.
