"Go ahead and scream! A private encounter with a man in the bedroom, if word gets out, it would be a huge scandal," Quan Shaoqing said as he touched her cheek.

His warm breath, carrying the unique fragrance of a man, made Gu Xiaoxi’s heart tremble uncontrollably, and her ears turned crimson red.

This guy knew she didn’t want to cause trouble for Bai Yaxuan and was bullying her here because of it.

Gu Xiaoxi threw off the blanket and tried to flee with the book in her arms, thinking she couldn’t out-talk him, but she could at least try to run away, right?

"Where do you think you’re going?" Young Master Quan grabbed her small hand with ease, and with a light tug, she was pulled unexpectedly and fell heavily beside him.

His strong arms immediately blocked her waist, trapping both of her small hands to one side.

Gu Xiaoxi, terrified, struggled in confusion, trying to escape, but the man’s strength was simply too overpowering.

In his hands, she felt like a lamb waiting to be slaughtered, "What on earth do you want, Quan Shaoqing!"

Looking at the woman in his arms, frantic like a little rabbit, Quan Shaoqing’s smile grew sweeter, "Naturally... I miss you!"

Gu Xiaoxi looked up, her gaze as pure as a small deer’s, colliding with his.

She thought she saw sincerity in his eyes for a moment, but it was just an illusion. When she looked deeper into those dark orbs again, all she found was his evil, shallow smile.

Gu Xiaoxi got angry. This guy kept teasing her, and even his confession of liking her seemed frivolous.

In pain, Quan Shaoqing released her, and Gu Xiaoxi took the chance to leap off the bed and dodge his hold, standing guard against him, "If you don’t leave now, I won’t be polite!"

Though she lacked physical training, when it came to killing, she could do it effortlessly. It was best not to provoke her.

Quan Shaoqing clutched his shoulder, his brows knitted in a frown; blood soaked through his clothes, darkening his gaze, "You really went for it!"

"You started it with your impoliteness!" Gu Xiaoxi said sternly, feeling he deserved the bite. It was already generous of her not to hold a knife to his throat.

"I didn’t actually do anything to you, did I?" Standing up from the bed, Quan Shaoqing struck a nonchalant pose and glanced at Gu Xiaoxi. He remarked, "Seeing you hop around and bite people, you don’t seem to be too badly off."

"That’s none of your concern," Gu Xiaoxi moved to the sofa, keeping her distance from Quan Shaoqing. He always felt so dangerous to her.

Plus, his speech was erratic, leaving her unsure which of his words were true and which were false.

"Little ingrate, you really have no conscience. I took care of you all of last night, and because I was worried you’d be bored sick at home, today I brought you some toys. Since you don’t like them, never mind, I’ll consider this my own overthinking," Quan Shaoqing said as he walked to the door, picking up a parcel from the small table, looking as if he was leaving.

"Toys? What toys?" Gu Xiaoxi doubted Quan Shaoqing had that kind of generosity.

Quan Shaoqing turned to look at her and mimed the shape of a handgun with his hand.

Gu Xiaoxi wasn’t foolish and immediately understood.

Given his line of work, what he could give her would certainly not be harmless toys.

"Don’t you dislike them? I’m leaving right now," Quan Shaoqing, fully aware of Gu Xiaoxi’s interest in the item he held, pretended to twist the doorknob to leave.

Gu Xiaoxi wouldn’t let him go. She rushed forward, grabbing the sleeve of his suit, "Don’t be so petty, there’s no taking back a gift once given."

If it was given to her, then it should be left behind before leaving.

"Given the disgusted look on your face, it seems you really don’t want it. I’m sure that person of yours will prepare something better for you," Quan Shaoqing leaned nonchalantly against the closed door, his tone a bit sour. Still, he handed over the object to the little woman in front of him.

Gu Xiaoxi screamed out, "Hey, can’t you be a little gentlemanly?"

Before she could kick him, Quan Shaoqing decisively let go of her and then disappeared in the blink of an eye.

Gu Xiaoxi stood frozen in place, reaching to touch her neck, which still carried his breath, burning as if it had been scorched by fire.

Just then, there was a knock on the door along with Bai Yaxuan’s anxious voice, "Xiao Xi, are you in there? Is something wrong?"

Gu Xiaoxi hurriedly picked up the box off the floor, ran back to her own room, and hid it in the cabinet.

Quan Shaoqing is some kind of monster, coming and going without a trace; it’s really hard to explain what he had just done, so it was better to keep it a secret from Bai Yaxuan.

Gu Xiaoxi came out of her small room to find Bai Yaxuan had kicked open the bedroom door, looking at her anxiously and asked, "Xiao Xi, why were you locking yourself in the room?"

"Oh! I was sweaty and was about to change clothes. When I heard you calling, I rushed out," Gu Xiaoxi explained, exhaling deeply. She also let her long hair fall in front of her chest to hide the trace of seductive warmth at her neck.

When Bai Yaxuan looked down, he saw on the nearby bed the messy luxurious golden duvet and wrinkled sheets. On the snowy white carpet, there was a barely discernible object.

Approaching, he found it was a custom-made, high-quality metal lighter, obviously expensive and intriguing.

This was a man’s object, clearly not his.

In this room, aside from him and her, could there have been someone else?

A protective instinct made Bai Yaxuan clutch the lighter tightly. He scanned the area in a panic before heading to the surveillance room.

The Presidential Mansion was under 360-degree surveillance with no blind spots; if anyone came in, they would be captured on camera.

Her movement was like a lotus swaying in the wind, grace personified. Even ordinary clothes couldn’t hide the lady’s beauty.

"Qiao, your cheeks are so red; did you see someone you like?" Gu Xiaoxi teased with a smile.

In fact, she had seen right away that Qiao Wan had a crush on Mi Xi.

When Mi Xi saw her, he gave her a gentle smile. With his warm and elegant charm, he tugged at her heartstrings. No wonder Qiao Wan secretly adored him; he truly was a man as free as the wind, handsome and dashing.
