The gathering ended.

Everyone returned to their dormitories to rest.

Gu Xiaoxi prepared to go out for training as usual.

After everyone had fallen asleep, she, dressed in camouflage and wearing army boots, walked out of the dormitory.

In the corridor, she accidentally overheard Zhang Jingyue talking with a female soldier in the dormitory through the walls of the building.

Gu Xiaoxi instinctively stopped in her tracks and heard them say.

"I heard the regiment commander say that tomorrow there will be an exercise targeting new recruits. If someone fails, they will be kicked out of the Fourth Company," Zhang Jingyue’s voice said.

"You shouldn’t worry since the regiment commander gave you a heads up. All we have to do is prepare. Did he say what the exercise involves?" the other female soldier asked.

Gu Xiaoxi, standing at the dormitory entrance, originally thought to leave but couldn’t help feeling curious upon hearing this.

The Fourth Company is a very good unit in the army; where could Zhang Jingyue go that would make her so happy?

She stood there and silently listened.

She then heard the female soldier conversing with Zhang Jingyue ask in surprise, "Where are you going? Is there anywhere better than the Fourth Company?"

"Command Center!" Zhang Jingyue said with a laugh, "That’s the headquarters of the three armed services. It’s where the talented converge, and full of experts. It’s definitely better than the Fourth Company."

"I’m envious! This way, you’ll be a bit closer to Young Master Quan! Then let me congratulate the future Young Master Quan’s Wife in advance. Please take good care of us afterward!" the female soldier flattered.

Gu Xiaoxi stood at the door, frowning, looking up at the night sky outside.

"Don’t make any noise. If you are going, then just go," Gu Xiaoxi glanced around and seeing no one, quickly led Shao Changfeng toward the back mountain.

On the way there, her expression was serious. Shao Changfeng, curious, stared at her frowned brow and asked in confusion, "Did you fight with Zhang Jingyue again?"

"I’m not that idle!" Gu Xiaoxi spoke curtly, striding toward a towering old tree not far away.

"You look like someone owes you millions," Shao Changfeng ventured to guess.

Gu Xiaoxi suddenly stopped walking, feeling more and more aggravated. She pulled out her phone and called Quan Shaoqing.

After several attempts, he didn’t answer.

Gu Xiaoxi hung up the phone and looked up at the silver moon; that Quan Shaoqing was really too much. He actually didn’t answer her call.

Shao Changfeng, seeing her expression go from sunny to overcast, became even more worried and asked, "What’s the matter with you?"

"I’m in a bad mood!" Gu Xiaoxi thought of Zhang Jingyue liking Quan Shaoqing and felt uncomfortable all over.

She had to find out whether Quan Shaoqing liked her too.
