Yukon’s vacation lasted only ten days.

After ten days, he had to fly from Cakago to Old York.

Fortunately, the two cities were not too far apart.

The night before Yukon left, Jasmine personally made him some nougat cookies and chocolate chip cookies at the bakery.

These little treats had a longer shelf life, so she made extra.

In the bakery’s courtyard, Jasmine and Yukon sat at a table drinking coffee.

Jasmine made two cups of vanilla latte. The rich coffee flavor mixed with the aroma of vanilla was neither too bitter nor too sweet, without being too intense or too bland.

Yukon liked it very much.

“I’ll go to the airport to see you off tomorrow morning,” Jasmine said.

“You have class tomorrow morning. Don’t bother coming to see me off,” Yukon replied, his lips curving up slightly. “Take care, and don’t get sick again.”

“But getting sick… it’s not like I can control that,” Jasmine sipped her coffee. “But I’ll take good care of myself.”

“Cakago and Old York aren’t far apart. I’ll come back often.”

Jasmine laughed, and she opened a box of cookies. “Try these, I just made them, they taste great.”

Yukon picked up a piece and tasted it.

Jasmine’s eyes crinkled into crescents, “Tasty, right? Your mom taught me how to make them personally. I think I have a knack for it; I learned pretty well.”

“Actually… I can make them too. I picked up a bit here and there from childhood,” Yukon said with a smile in his eyes.

“You can? But you’ve been back for ten days and I haven’t seen you make them once.”

“Next time.”

Under the night lights, Yukon’s gentle face looked even more refined and scholarly, like a modest gentleman.

Interacting with him, Jasmine felt as if she was strolling in a spring breeze–very natural and unrestrained.

“I also made some homemade cookies for you to bring to Old York. Won’t they be too heavy?” Jasmine handed him the wrapped tote bag.

“I really like them. Maybe you should consider making more?”

“Next time.” Jasmine mimicked his tone.

Yukon laughed, the laughter clear like mountain air, his expression peaceful, “It’s not far from Cakago to Old York. Come visit when you have time.”
