Chapter 141: Chapter 141: The useless ex husband never learns
Bai Qianhua looked to Xu Meng for an explanation, but Xu Meng only gritted his teeth and remained silent.
Sanya laughed boisterously.
"Does Miss Bai think she is the Queen of the world? Showing off your nonexistent wealth makes everyone think that you are better than them when, in fact, you are a walking joke! Hahaha! Xiao Zhu, let’s not be bothered by these people. This useless ex-husband will never learn his lesson. Hop in!"
Qin Zhuzhu got into the car and drove off, leaving Xu Meng and Bai Qianhua, who was suspicious of what had happened.
Nonexistent wealth?! What did she mean? Sanya wasn’t the type to lie, and from the look on Xu Meng’s face, it seemed like it was true. What was Xu Meng not telling her?
A gloomy feeling came over Bai Qianhua. Her heart suddenly felt restless and uneasy, as if something bad was going to happen.
"I have something to do. I won’t accompany you for lunch," Xu Meng said. He walked off and entered the car.
"Brother Xu, wait!" Bai Qianhua called out, but he had already left.
This scene felt like that of a boyfriend who dumped his girlfriend after talking to his ex-wife. Humiliating!
She had wanted to humiliate Qin Zhuzhu but ended up shooting herself in the foot!
Xu Meng knew that Bai Qianhua must be feeling angry with him, but he couldn’t think of another way to avoid her. She would probe and ask questions, and it would be hard for him to answer. So, he could only think of this way to escape her.
"My uncle runs a fashion company. He can help you with anything you don’t know. Just say the word, and I’ll come running to you!" Sanya said cheerfully.
"Sure. Then I won’t be courteous," Qin Zhuzhu replied.
The car drove through the streets lined with expensive shopping malls.
"You can drop me off here. I want to buy something," Qin Zhuzhu said.
"Okay," Sanya stopped the car, and Qin Zhuzhu got off. They waved at each other.
Qin Zhuzhu walked past the expensive shopping malls to an eatery, where she ordered some food and met with someone.
A pair of eyes watched her from the shadows.
Suddenly, two men who had been following Qin Zhuzhu the whole time approached her.
The shop staff looked at the muscular men suspiciously. In broad daylight, they dared to attack her?
Qin Zhuzhu wondered who had hired these men. It seemed like there was no end to her miseries.
The men took out batons and struck the plastic tables, breaking them in half.
"Get lost!" They chased away all the customers.
Qin Zhuzhu tried to run with the crowd, but one of the men blocked her way.
"Big brother, what do you want? I can give you money. I have lots of money," Qin Zhuzhu smiled meekly.
"Heh, why would I want your money when the reward for you is bigger?" the man snarled.
As expected, these were not ordinary robbers. They had been hired by someone! Whoever wanted her dead must have hated her so much.
"The girl’s got a purse. She might call her friend for help," the second man said as he started to walk toward her.
"Hand it over, little girl, and we won’t hurt you," the first man chuckled. He had a greasy smile that looked sickening.
"Brothers, I’ll give it to you!" Qin Zhuzhu tossed her purse to the men and quickly sprinted toward the shopping malls.
She clutched her phone tightly as she ran into one of the shopping malls, calling for help.
"Shit! The purse is empty! Chase after that bitch!" The men pursued her.
No one dared to step in and help for fear of getting injured.
Qin Zhuzhu looked around the mall she had run into. Moonstone Mall. It was quiet, with little to no people.
"Shit! How am I going to get help?!" Qin Zhuzhu realized that it was a dead mall. Probably because the business here had been stolen by a rival mall.
She ran up the staircase to get to the top floor. Footsteps pounded the stairs behind her. Her palms were sweaty as she pushed open a door and ran past a lift. The lift door opened, and another man in black walked out.
The man tried to grab Qin Zhuzhu but only managed to grab the hem of her shirt, tearing it slightly.
Shit! They called for backup!
Qin Zhuzhu suddenly stopped in her tracks. The second man stood in her way, smiling as he held a baton. He flexed his fingers as he walked menacingly toward her.
She swallowed and looked behind her. The first man and his backup of five men all gazed at her hungrily.
She was dead meat, outnumbered.
"Brothers, we can talk this over," she chuckled nervously and waved her hands.
"You can talk after we catch you!" The man lunged at her. Another swung a baton at her....
POW!
A gloved hand stopped the baton inches away from her head. Qin Zhuzhu looked up and immediately recognized that it was the man who had helped her at the fashion competition.
The masked man kicked the first man and sent him flying through the air.
"Behind you!" she pointed.
The masked man did a flying kick and landed. He grabbed Qin Zhuzhu by the waist and made her dodge the incoming attacks.
Wow! Qin Zhuzhu watched like a teenage girl watching her idol with amazement as the masked man took down the crooks one by one.
His skills were definitely strong and advanced. Qin Zhuzhu tripped one of the men who tried to sneak up behind him. It gave the masked man time to defeat the opponents in front of him and knock out the man who had tried to sneak attack him.
The masked man’s figure looked somehow familiar as she watched him fight. For some strange reason, she felt safe with him here. With such skills, he must have been in the military before.
One of the men got up from the ground unbeknownst to Qin Zhuzhu. He raised a baton at her head from behind...
"Little Pearl!"
