Chapter 897 - 854: Move

Chapter 897: Chapter 854: Move

In order to defeat the rival clan, RT6 had made thorough preparations.

Mr. Franken, the science freak, was fully utilized; his refrigerator now stored an entire box of chilled bottled beer, a reward for those players who performed excellently. Her long-term research showed that currently, 34.7% of the United Government’s residents would indulge in a cold beer after intense mental activity.

Hacking technology is a kind of high-intensity mental exercise for humans.

Not everyone was like Lu Xiang; RT6 thought most people she met were rather slow-witted.

Right after registration ended, Sean Grant’s squad and the genius Mechanic squad immediately went to the training room prepared by the program team for the mentors.

Before leaving, the "Emperor" thoughtfully looked at Song Lan’s retreating figure. If his built-in operating system’s analysis was correct, their direction seemed to be the food street not far from the Eden Hotel.

That must be nice; even he felt a little tempted to switch to Mentor Lucky’s team.

When it came to the practice of Spiritual Energy, he indeed had many unresolved issues he had not yet discussed in depth with Song Lan.

"Hey, what are you looking at?"

RT6 called out to him, sounding rather unfriendly. Her eyes widened, her cheeks puffed, and she looked pretty fierce.

"Since yesterday, I’ve been pondering a problem."

"What problem?"

"Why are you always so concerned about him?"

Although RT6 had a textbook tsundere personality, she inherited the mechanical species’ advantage in dealing with problems, always managing to judge things with the most rational viewpoint—except when it came to Song Lan.

If it had been any other mentor, RT6 probably wouldn’t even bother attending the meetings, always talking in a condescending tone about how little she cared for the "trash fish" humans’ meetings. This incident involving the Vadim forces indeed didn’t catch her interest.

After his experience in Atlantis, the "Emperor" even wasn’t sure where to place Vadim in the Intensity Rankings.

T6?

Or maybe T7?

He felt that continuing the ranking beyond this wasn’t just likely to offend some, but also lacked practical significance.

This was like the situation with pay-to-win games on the market, where most players only cared for characters in the top tiers T0, T1, and T2.

Although RT6’s "official reason" was that mechanics and Spiritual Energy were natural enemies, having fought over an era, the "Emperor" always felt there was more to the story.

Upon reflection, RT6’s symptoms started when he began to ask Song Lan privately about Spiritual Energy, and since then, she had always been scheming to prove she was stronger than Song Lan, not willing to fall behind even in entertainment and daily life.

"I’ve emphasized many times already, this is a rivalry between sworn enemies, to be conducted in a peaceful, bloodless manner!"

RT6 struck her signature pose with hands on her hips, as though to underscore the credibility of her words.

"Really?"

It was fortunate that the "Emperor’s" face now looked just like the Terminator’s, otherwise RT6 would’ve seen the skepticism on his face.

"Otherwise what?"

"I thought you were into me."

Lately, he had been reading "A Love Tip Every Day" during his rest time. The "Emperor" didn’t know how credible the book was, but he found many of RT6’s behaviors perfectly matched the descriptions in the book, which summarized such behavior as the awkward expressions of a tsundere lover.

But out of caution, the "Emperor" remained skeptical.

"Pfft—!"

RT6 stumbled and nearly twisted her waist. A hint of panic flickered in her pentagram-patterned pupils, quickly replaced by embarrassed anger. She raised her voice, "Shut up, shut up! Who would like a ’trash fish’ like you? I just think you’re useful as a portable fridge, that’s all!"

After a tirade, RT6 stormed into the conference room without looking back.

The "Emperor" stood silently in place, more questions flooding his mind. It seemed that in addition to Spiritual Energy, he might need to ask Song Lan and Lu Xiang for advice on emotional matters as well.

He had never had such experience before, whereas Song Lan and Lu Xiang looked like old hands at it.

Meanwhile, Song Lan also reached their destination with his two students—a ramen shop in the food street that seemed quite popular, mostly with crew members from the film set taking their break for a meal. The death of the founder of Kolo Film Industry hadn’t dampened their dreams or changed their daily lives, it simply provided a new topic of conversation over meals.

Studies show that dining together in a ramen shop can quickly enhance the bond between mentors and students.

The downside was that this ramen shop went for a people-friendly approach, using almost entirely synthetic ingredients. The texture of the meat was indistinguishable from dried tofu, and the noodles lacked chewiness. Perhaps the owner was reluctant to use salt because the soup was so bland it was like drinking water.

The only advantages seemed to be the low price and generous portions.

No wonder Lu Xiang returned disappointed from his excited first-night visit to the nearby food street in less than half an hour.

Valerian also noticed the problem, only taking a couple of bites as her brows furrowed. "It’s too bland, nowhere near as good as the canteen leader’s cooking."

Had it been years earlier she might have enjoyed the meal, but her taste buds had grown finicky from a long period of mooching meals.
