Chapter 470: Homomorphic Revenge_1

Chapter 470: Chapter 470: Homomorphic Revenge_1

The injured was immediately taken to the school hospital and soon stabilized out of the critical period; Isabella’s condition stabilized as well. However, Jasmine was far from relieved.

Deaths at Morning Star Academy continued.

When people who had been humiliated and oppressed for a long time gained the power to rebel, the seed of hatred rapidly turned into a wildfire. To date, the number of deaths at the academy had risen to more than a dozen, with dozens more seriously injured and in a coma, and the instigator of it all was the figure she had encountered on the rooftop.

The way the figure revealed their identity was intriguing.

The figure claimed they were a test the world had imposed on "them." Jasmine was still unable to discern whether "they" referred to the rescuers, a specific department, or the entire United Government.

More pressing than reasoning, she had a lot of work to do, spending the entire afternoon in the school hospital stabilizing the dying students; otherwise, the death toll would continue to rise.

Upon learning of the situation, the school authorities also took immediate action, gathering all teachers and students in the gymnasium.

Thanks to her busyness all afternoon, Jasmine also learned more clues. Those "bound" were mostly bullies in the school or their accomplices. Years of accumulated hatred were the catalyst for this event, and with the arrival of the figure, the day of eruption finally came.

Outside the hospital room window, night fell, and Jasmine sat in front of Isabella’s hospital bed.

Not long ago, the Iris Consortium pressured the Review Meeting to save Isabella’s life at all costs.

The future heiress of the consortium, though awake, could only stare at the ceiling, unable to move her head in the slightest.

As a precaution, Jasmine used her Psychic Abilities to control the injured girl’s movements. Until they received further news, they could only temporarily adopt coercive measures with the school authorities to prevent the casualty count from climbing.

The Review Meeting had convened an emergency meeting that afternoon, and she always felt they knew something.

Jasmine gazed out the window, watching the instant the evening breeze brushed the leaves, the sound of the wind blowing into her ears.

Then, a person appeared in the hospital room without warning and without making any sound.

The door to the ward had been closed at some unknown time, and Isabella on the bed sensed the arrival of this uninvited guest, straining her eyes to see, only to be met with darkness.

Before losing consciousness, she felt someone lightly touch her forehead.

"Forgive my frankness, but too many unnecessary people know your identity."

After confirming that the last person in the school hospital lost consciousness, the youth with his hood obscuring half of his face finally spoke.

His whole body was almost completely wrapped in heavy clothing, even his exposed hands were covered in metal.

Even his voice was altered by some device.

That pair of mechanical eyes was staring at Jasmine’s figure.

Maintaining the secrecy of the identity of Six Stars rescuers had always been one of the United Government’s most crucial tasks. In theory, they should not have been seen by so many people during their operations.

"I am a doctor first, and only then a rescuer," Jasmine replied. She had lost count of how many times she had made this clear to her peers.

"The Review Meeting sent an electronic handbook, which I think, after you see it, you might gain a new understanding of the importance of confidentiality."

The young man tapped lightly, and an electronic handbook floated towards Jasmine, carried by some invisible force.

United Government Psychic Collection Handbook.

Because of her work, Jasmine often came into contact with such handbooks. The treatment and recovery of Psychics had been her long-standing project, but she had never seen such a ... dangerous handbook.

From the emblem on the cover and the electronic seal, it was evident that this document had been personally compiled by the Review Meeting and was subject to the highest level of confidentiality.

If not for such a huge blunder in the Seventh District, even they, as Six Stars rescuers, might not have been able to access its contents.

One page of the electronic handbook contained remarks. The moment the page was turned, the handbook automatically flipped to that page:

Psychic Handbook, number 003.

Ability Name: Homomorphic Vengeance

Holder: Experimental Subject δ

Ability Features:

1. Hatred links the two individuals, with all negative states from one being transferred to the other until both individuals die.

2. Unable to detect the limit of the ability’s coverage. In a known case, the linked individual died on a plane bound for the First Neutral Country, leading to estimates that the ability’s effective distance can span the entire United Government.

3. Until δ’s death, we were unable to detect a limit to the "host" capacity. When both parties linked by hatred die, their consciousnesses are absorbed by δ, becoming its nourishment.

Ability Activation Rule: Hatred

Ability Type: Interference

Overall Evaluation:

Destructive Power: Unknown

Rule Efficiency: Extremely High

Rule Rate: Extremely High

Coverage: Extremely High/Unlimited

Jasmine carefully read the contents of the handbook. The records she had read before of ability users had never been detailed to such extent, nor had they ever included illustrations specifically of their abilities.

Yet, as a Six Star Rescuer for the United Government, she had never heard of Experimental Subject δ, nor was she aware of where and how all the measures in the handbook were completed.

She noticed a key piece of information mentioned in the manual, "It says here that δ has been confirmed dead."

"It seems those who dealt with the matter back then didn’t do it as thoroughly as they imagined," the young man said.

For the upper echelons of the United Government, this was undoubtedly one of the most dangerous abilities they had ever faced—it could kill any person without warning across a city or even several cities.

Be it politicians, corporate executives, or even Six Star Rescuers.

According to the records, before δ, like plucking weeds, left the United Government’s high-ranking officials dead in the streets one after another, they found her existence first – strangling the immense threat in its cradle before her abilities could fully mature.

"I’ve seen her before; she looks very different from the pictures," Jasmine recalled her encounter on the rooftop, more precisely, δ could no longer be described as a human; it seemed she had metamorphosed into another being after her death.

From the current situation, the original recorders lied; they hadn’t completely killed δ but instead confined her remaining consciousness in the Black Pyramid, which also explained why the Review Meeting was so vigilant about this matter.

If her conjecture was correct, did that mean... besides δ, many other dangerous consciousness entities had escaped from the Pyramid?

"Let’s focus on resolving the matter at hand first."

The young man was of course aware of the severity of the situation, but if destroying her physical form couldn’t prevent the spread of δ’s consciousness, did that mean that she was now impossible to eliminate?

"To hunt her down, the United Government deployed one Six Star Rescuer and three Five Star Rescuers," the young man brought up information not recorded in the handbook, which was shared with him privately by a Councilor who owed him a favor after an emergency meeting, "The Five Star Rescuers were eliminated due to a leak before they could reach their target. The Six Star Rescuer who executed the eradication order ended up linked with her after driving δ to a dead end."

At this point, the young man paused for a moment, "Firstly, we need to consider how to survive in her hands."
