Chapter 113: Chapter 113: No Set Date for Future Meeting_1
When the dust settled, a man stood in front of the ruins of a prison cell.
The prison garment on the man had been ripped into shreds during the recent intense fight, yet the water pipe he held in his hand was unscathed. Together with it, a few remnants of red-violet electric arcs flickered, catching the prisoners’ attention.
At the man’s feet lay several broken crescent-shaped blades, their thermal energy completely dissipated.
More than half of the prisoners simultaneously rubbed their eyes, checking to see if they were dreaming.
One strike!
Just now, with only one strike, ’The Rat’ had managed to take out the formidable opponent, who looked invincible with numerous military-grade body implants!
However, what excited the prisoners even more was the declaration ’The Rat’ made when he struck.
There is no reason in this world that can stop a man from seeking his freedom!
Only one sentence was enough to rouse the long-buried feelings in their hearts, and they became convinced that what they were witnessing was not a hallucination. The freedom they had longed for was now within their reach.
Aishi in the cell had already lost her initial composure.
Unlike the prisoners who were blindly praising ’The Rat’, she knew exactly what had just happened.
The use of destruction-type psychic abilities.
However, the power was on a different level from any of the destruction-type psychic abilities she knew of. Even her own spiritual perception was overwhelmed by the sudden surge of energy.
She desperately wished that her sight wasn’t blocked at this moment, so she could see clearly what had happened in the flash of lightning.
The one responsible for the destruction was clearly not ’The Rat’, who was still in a daze. Realizing this, Aishi was even more surprised — the other party first used their psychic ability to control ’The Rat’s’ movements and then executed the devastating attack that destroyed the entire cell through ’The Rat’s’ body.
Only an intricate understanding of interference-type psychic abilities would allow one to manipulate others beyond simple perception. In her understanding, the psychic ability users who could achieve this were few and far between, including herself, who hadn’t ventured into this advanced area.
In other words, this person has reached an unthinkable level in the use of destruction and interference-type psychic abilities.
Aishi found it hard to imagine how many years one must devote to uncover the true secrets of these two types of psychic abilities.
"Good Samaritan..."
She muttered the name.
This proved that the other party was certainly mocking her, and that their use of psychic abilities exceeded her imagined scope!
"Bad news, big brother Rat, we’re in trouble!"
"The Law Enforcers are coming!"
"It’s Lu Xiang, Lu Xiang has barged in with his men!"
The prisoners’ shouts snapped Aishi out of her thoughts and finally brought ’The Rat’ back to his senses.
He felt that the moment just now was the climax of his life, the strike that embodied his belief had been reciprocated accordingly, and even he himself believed that freedom was waiting for him ahead.
No one can stop a man from striving for freedom.
Unfortunately, this "I am the only one in this world" thought didn’t last long in his mind. As soon as he heard the name "Lu Xiang", ’The Rat’ wilted, his hand shaking and dropping the water pipe to the ground.
"Quick, you guys block her!"
He shouted in panic, "That strike just now drained a lot of my energy."
"Brothers, let’s cover Brother Rat’s retreat even if it costs us our lives!"
Under the inspiration of freedom and passion, the prisoners surged forward, like a wall blocking the entrance to the inner layer of the prison. At this moment, they truly felt they were fighting for a grander cause, and even if they fell and could never leave the prison, there would be others who would carry on their pursuit for freedom in their stead.
"Quick, retreat! If we don’t leave now, it will be too late!"
’The Rat’ rushed towards the big hole bombed out at the back of the cell, the only path leading to freedom.
Aishi was taken aback for a moment, then also stood up.
However, just as she was about to follow her psychic perception and leave the cell, her running pace suddenly slowed down. Because the expanded psychic energy not only sensed the way to the outside world, it also sensed a person separated from them by just a wall.
"Mr. ’Good Samaritan,’ can I take this as your attitude towards the Rebel Army?"
"Don’t flatter yourself, it’s a personal grudge."
A response came quickly from the other side of the wall.
Aishi’s heart was filled with regret. The restraints on her blocked her sight, and the scattered psychic energy could only perceive a vague silhouette.
She could not see everything happening with her own eyes.
"Is that so? That’s really a pity."
Aishi said, "Actually, I think you would get along well with us. ’There’s no reason in this world that can stop a man from seeking his freedom?’ If we replaced the drafting advertisement with this, it would probably be very well-received."
The fighting and shouting outside the cell ended their conversation.
The Law Enforcers who heard the news had already rushed into the inner layer of the prison. The prisoners, in order to cover ’The Rat’s’ retreat, summoned up their courage and began their desperate resistance.
However, the prisoners, bare-handed and of limited abilities, quickly fell against the fully armed Law Enforcers.
Lu Xiang led the charge into the crowd. None of these prisoners, said to be the most vicious in the 17 districts, could withstand three rounds under his hand and lay on the ground howling in various strange postures.
"Well then, until we meet again."
Leaving behind her final farewell, Aishi took her steps and disappeared at the end of the road shortly after.
Song Lan withdrew his gaze, glanced at the chaotic cell, and also set off on his return journey.
He was hiding in the dark when he heard the conversation between Pero and Aishi, where the other party confessed that he was the one who spread the news about Aishi being imprisoned in a remote prison.
"Cold-blooded Civilian" and "Good Samaritan" were destined to be enemies, their positions were opposed from the beginning.
Neglecting duty is also a crime?
Then, may you bear the consequences of your neglect of duty yourself.
Ignoring the mission, allowing the United Government’s major fugitive to escape.
After the expensive mechanical body was damaged, facing an Iron Scrap that no longer had any value for use, how would the United Government deal with the culprit behind this prison break caused by neglect of duty?
............
Quarter of an hour later, the prison riot was suppressed. All the prisoners had been accounted for, the injured were sent to the infirmary, while the prisoners who were killed by Pero could only be placed in body bags and directly transported to the crematorium near the prison, the final destination for most of the prisoners.
No grave, no epitaph.
Turn into ashes in the roaring flame, returning to Mother Earth.
"Director, the headcount is complete, only one person successfully escaped."
"Hmm."
Lu Xiang took the roster handed over by the Law Enforcer.
"The Rat"
"Charges: Attack on the venue, disruption of network security, endangering public security, operating illegal venues."
"Sentence: 203 years"
