Chapter 1114: Chapter 951: Prison Rules_3
Twilight of the Empire
...
There is no doubt that these are banned films, even coming from Kolo Film Industry. The United Government would absolutely not allow these movies to hit the theaters.
But the direction of this prohibition was quite different from what they had imagined.
"I was wrong about you; I will reflect on that."
Lu Xiang’s attitude changed, and out of guilt, her response was as quiet as a mosquito’s whisper.
Song Lan’s criticism seemed to echo in the car for a long time, making her interrogate her conscience. Had her mind indeed been occupied by pornographic waste material lately?
The rest of the journey proceeded in silence.
The hovercar slowly left the urban area of The First Region and stopped above a vast stretch of unspoiled plains, undeveloped areas that retained some degree of natural scenery.
However, in 2167, natural landscapes were not in vogue.
Young people would never come to such places for a holiday, nor would they appreciate the refined pleasure of sitting side by side to watch the sunset; they couldn’t bear to stay a moment longer on these desolate lands.
After the hovercar landed, Lu Xiang, guided by military technology coordinates, was the first to enter the thick vegetation of the wilderness. Deep within the plants was an inconspicuous pool, the water looked turbid from afar, bubbling ominously.
The pool fully preserved the customs and conditions of the post-nuclear landscape; even avid swimmers wouldn’t want to immerse themselves in such polluted waters.
"Old Lu, you aren’t going to tell me that the entrance to the Old World is hidden beneath here, are you?"
Song Lan wanted to retreat, but no one had mentioned the need to soak in nuclear wastewater in the mission details. He even suddenly understood why the prisoners sent to the Old World never returned to the real one.
If this was indeed the necessary path to the Old World, then it was better off forgotten!
"Don’t panic. This is all the effect of holographic projection, designed to prevent people from accidentally coming here."
"Are you sure?"
"I’m guessing."
Lu Xiang uttered these three words without a hint of hesitation, as if she hadn’t considered the consequences of a wrong guess at all, "The coordinates point to here."
"So, there’s only one thing left to do, as the saying goes, time reveals the truth."
Song Lan patted Angle on the shoulder, "Friend, you go first. We’ll follow shortly."
Angle also stared at the pool for a long time. Honestly, he hadn’t felt the warmth of the word ’friend’ that day.
Lu Xiang had eaten the steamed bun, and now it seemed he had to wade through the potentially radioactive pool.
But at least, Song Lan had symbolically asked for his opinion.
Angle consoled himself, thinking if someone from military technology was escorting him, they might have pushed him into the pool without warning.
Could there be anything worse than being sent to a prison from which you could never return?
With this thought, he stepped forward and plunged into the churning bubbles.
"Plop."
Angle heard the splash, a sudden chill enveloping his entire body.
There was no putrid smell in the water as he had imagined.
Immersed in the lake, a world enveloped in darkness surrounded him. After an indeterminate amount of time, a faint light glided over his body, and the slight sound of water coalesced, forming into the waveless, emotionless mechanical synthetic voice.
"Identity recognized:"
"Angle Saffire"
"Level: D7"
"Prison term: 473 years"
"Penal zone: D7 Zone, Wasteland"
