Edge of the Apocalypse -
Chapter 652: Deep Into The Canyon
"Colonel, confirm. There is no problem with the quantity or purity of a hundred Abyss Crystals."
After listening to the soldier's report, Colonel Bula nodded. He walked back to the motorcade, and there were soldiers behind him who carried away the chests containing the Abyss Crystals. However, there were no force field tractors on the Catus' suitcases, and the soldiers could only carry them back to one of the transport vehicles with extra force.
"Go back, boys, get in the car." Bula said loudly.
When he was about to jump into his flying car, a soldier nervously walked up to him and whispered, "Colonel, you should probably see for yourself that the situation with flying car number 7 is a little strange."
Moments later, Bula stood in the rear cabin of the tactical flying car and looked at the neat gap beneath his eyelids. After a long time, Bella asked, "Didn't you find Lloyd and Bane?"
"Yes, Colonel. And there's a rifle missing from the chest."
"Alright, let's go. If we stay here, I'm afraid we'll make fun of those Catu wild boars." Bula jumped out of the flying car and whispered, "Marley, take your men and look around. Find the rat that sneaked in."
"Yes, Colonel."
Bula looked around and frowned. Without saying anything else, he returned to his car. The convoy turned around and left Bai Li Ge's field of vision at a constant speed. "Idiots, haven't you learned how to use it yet? Damn it, how could you be so stupid?" Roared the fatty, who was a complete stranger to the Catus.
He shook the traction device in his hand irritably, his heart filled with contempt for his fellow countrymen who only knew how to fight, but didn't even know how to use simple traction devices. But what could be done about it? The Catus' brains weren't very bright. Brother Bai Li sighed. He once again realized how painful it was for a wise man to be thrown into a group of idiots.
"Maybe I should go to Agares. That supreme Paragon will need someone as smart as me." Brother Bai Li murmured, then raised his head and shouted, "Come here, this is the last time. No one is allowed to eat tonight if they want to learn no more!"
Allen took the opportunity to sneak into the closest container to him and opened it. There were neatly arranged pieces of Valley Blue steel inside. Blue steel is a new type of alloy developed by the Federation, its robustness far surpasses that of composite equipment and superalloys. The raw material for this alloy is not available on Earth, but is made from Valley Essence Iron produced on other colonial planets.
The Shadow Shadow Star Diamond and the Valley Blue Steel had only been exchanged for a hundred Abyss Crystals. From this, one could see the value of these Nether Crystals. Alan had only heard of the Abyss Crystal, but he did not know its true function. The diary Windsor Belo had given him recorded that although there were only a few words in it, it mentioned one of the two Sovereigns, Agares, who ruled the sky and earth east of the Agares Blood Sea. His name was Freus, the Great Emperor, and he lived in the Dark Castle. The outer wall was made of abyss crystals, and the Eternal Night City, which could never be penetrated by light, was one of the places Emperor Orfasis wanted to break through and occupy the most.
Unfortunately, Orfasis has ruled Adahua Planet for two centuries, but it is still unable to establish even a single base on Agares.
On the other hand, it was worth exchanging Shadow Star Diamonds and a large amount of blue steel for ordinary Nether Crystals. Alan hid himself in the box. The box had a lot of space, and Bula's boss wasn't generous enough to fill the box with blue steel. The distance between the steel and the lid was enough for Alan to lie flat. After he hid himself, the box staggered and floated up. Allen heard the exclamations of the Catus outside. It seemed that these stupid Catus had already learned how to use the force field traction device and were moving the container that Allen was hiding in.
He opened a crack in the lid and saw that the Catus were using force-field traction to carry away the heavy cargo. From Allen's point of view, the world outside the gap was retreating. As the bright light gradually darkened and the rolling hills were gradually replaced by twisted strange trees, gray-spotted rocks, and tall grass, Allen knew that he had begun to enter the Chaos Canyon.
All of a sudden, the box fell down and fell to the ground. Alan rolled out of the box with Blue Steel. He heard the exclamations of the Catus and the curses of Brother Bai Li. Seeing that he could no longer hide in the chest, he simply flew into a bush of grass and used the thick grass to cover his body. One could see that a Catu warrior was being scolded by Brother Bai Li. Fatty called in a few more warriors to help pack back the blue steel that had fallen out of the box. Only then did the team set off again.
Alan waited for them to leave before hanging at the back of the team, preparing to explore their base camp.
"Major Malley, look here."
A layer of snow covered his eyes, and a pair of faint footprints on the snowy ground were almost erased by the wind and snow. At this moment, the shield was removed, revealing a pair of bloodshot eyes. The man crouched on the ground. He had an extraordinarily large nose. Now, he was exposed to the wind and snow, and he was quickly frozen red.
Very quickly, a man arrived beside him. His light gray hair was blown into a mess by the wind. His sharp outline revealed the determination of a soldier. "Are you sure it's a human, hound?" Marley, who had just turned 40 after his golden age, looked at Big Nose.
The man nicknamed Hound nodded and said, "100% sure, Major. Unless chaotic races or planet natives like to wear our human shoes, but I don't think that's possible."
"Then tell me, where did he go?"
The two of them were standing on the hill where Ellen had been hiding. The hound raised its head and raised its hand in front of them, lest the light reflected by the snow blinded its eyes. He shrugged, "This is no ordinary fellow, Major." Even Colonel Bula did not discover his whereabouts immediately, which showed that he was an expert. I've already checked the surroundings. Apart from this pair of footprints, I've also found some clues at that end. "But there really aren't many clues, but if we look at these clues, that fellow should be following the Catus."
The hound turned around and pointed at the Chao Ran Mountain Shadow, "I'm seventy percent sure that guy went that way."
"Chaos Canyon?" Marley stroked his azure chin. "It's not a good place to find a man in the Chaos Canyon, and he's an expert who can hide from Colonel Bula. It's no different from looking for a needle in a haystack."
"So do you have any suggestions, Major?" The hound asked.
Ma Lei sighed, "I only have one stupid idea."
"We're all listening." The hound nodded his headset. He wasn't the only one under Marley.
