Edge of the Apocalypse -
Chapter 1187: Family
[Returning to his room, Alstair strolled into the bedroom. He lay down on his bed and tur that handle of the cabinet at the head of the bed. The floor beneath the bed suddenly sank, and the end of the bed was dumped downwards. There was actually a hidden passage under the floor. When the bed tilted to 45 degrees, Alstair easily slid into the dark passage. The induction light of the secret passage lit up. After passing through a not too long passage, the fat minister arrived at the end of the secret passage.
A titanium alloy door blocked the way. After entering a series of codes, the alloy door slid in and slid open from the left, revealing a spacious space behind. Alstair walked in. This was a hidden basement, and thick and long cables were laid on the ground. They stretched all the way to the front. The end was a metal platform, and on top of it was a barrel-like biochemical tank.
The biochemical tank was filled with light blue biochemical base liquid. Bubbles continuously rose from the base, and a figure floated inside. It was a man wearing only a pair of shorts, and his muscular upper body had a few obvious scars. A mask was placed on his face. The mask was connected to a top oxygen machine and other equipment. Its function was to maintain the oxygen supply and monitor the vital signs of men.
Alstair walked to the biochemical tank, looked at the various readings on the electronic board, and nodded. The man in the biochemical tank seemed to feel his arrival. His tightly closed eyes suddenly opened under the mask. Then, a voice sounded on the walkie-talkie beside him, "Did you tell Horn about that?"
"Well, he's calmer than I thought. I thought he would go berserk." Alstair sighed, "The ideal is to stop Alan through our power, but even the clown wants to touch the power of the Son of Twilight. That's all I can do."
"If Old Horn knew that his old friend was actually an important member of Light Concealment Society, his expression would be very exciting." The man in the biochemical tank said in a mocking tone.
"You want to say I use horn? Forget it, but I don't think I did anything wrong. Light Concealment Society's purpose was to observe and guide. Now, Alan's actions had begun to get out of control, while the clowns and the others wanted to interfere. They had already deviated from the original purpose of this organization. I'm just fixing the impact. As for Horn, I know he cares about Allen. Although there's some compensation in there, you can't deny that Allen's importance is increasing day by day. Whatever the purpose, Horn will not allow his most promising family members to be treated like this. "
'"But you know that once Horn intervenes, things will get out of hand. Alstair, use your brain and think about the consequences of doing so. Perhaps after today, the Federation will be torn apart by your hasty decision!"
"Strange," laughed Alstair. "You should be the last one to blame me for this. But don't worry too much. I know Horn too well. He can do it, but there are limits to it."
"You really are his good friend!"
"Of course. In fact, I hesitated for an entire night before making this decision. Because apart from Horn, I really can't think of anyone who can reverse this situation. The important thing is, I don't have time to think about it anymore. Horn is a good friend of mine. He used to be, and he will be. There will be no change in that. "It's just that my position makes it impossible for me to think about it as a friend. I have more to worry about than you think." Alstair tapped on the biochemical tank. "No matter what, I'll save Alan Beskard, no matter what."
"What about me? When are you going to let me out?"
"You need to recover."
"My injuries have already healed!"
"Now is not the time, my friend," sighed Alstair. "You have to be patient. When the world needs you, I promise I will let you out of this place."
"When is that? Is it the end of the world?"
"Perhaps, who knows?" Alstair waved his hand and walked back.
The bubbles in the biochemical tank surged and anger rose in the eyes under the mask, but the man was helpless.
Castle Ugarte.
Horn sat quietly in his seat. On his knee, there was the famous saber Qiu Yan's crutch lying horizontally. He folded his hands and gently placed them on the crutch, as if he could feel the sharpness and sharpness of Qiu Yan's thin cicada-like blade. A central light screen was opening in front of him. Numerous figures appeared on the screen one after another. These were all important members of the Beskard. Among them were the eldest son, Roddy, Elder Tyre, Ederick, and a dozen others. Together, these people were members of Beskard's Council of Elders.
Looking at them, Horn sighed in his heart.
After everyone attended the impromptu video conference, Roddy was the first to ask, "Father, did something happen to gather us in such a hurry?"
"I have something to announce." Horn looked at them and said, "Gentlemen, the next announcement may be too hasty. You may feel puzzled or even angry. But I would like to ask you to believe that this is all a decision for the future of the family."
Tell coughed softly, "Please speak, Lord Patriarch. I think everyone here is someone who has experienced great storms. Even if we are going to fight the Federation, we will not frown."
Everyone agreed.
Horn shook his head. "No, I'm going to announce something completely different. Then, all the members of the Council of Elders of Beskard will witness this. From this moment on, I, Horn, will no longer be the Patriarch of Beskard. I even removed myself and removed my name from the genealogy. The moment I walk out of this door, I will no longer be a member of Beskard. As for the position of Patriarch, I want to hand it over to Roddy. He will take care of the affairs of the clan on my behalf … "
"What?"
"What's going on?"
Roddy shouted, "Heavens, father, what are you talking about? How can this be? Wait, what exactly happened to get you to make such a decision?"
The other elders also asked, and Horn suddenly announced his abdication and exiled himself. This decision was even more shocking than going to war with the Federation. Faced with countless different faces, Horn stood up and said in a low voice, "I really want to explain it to everyone, but I don't have time now. I have to leave immediately. As for the reason, I have already asked Steward Helsing to compile a detailed written document, and he will send it to you at that time."
"Just now, please believe me. I made this decision with the future of the clan in mind." Horn nodded. "That's it, gentlemen. I hope we have a chance to meet again."
With that, he left the conference room.
Outside the room, Steward Helsing looked at Horn and said, "Master, I have already done what you told me. Do you want to send the information to Young Master and the other elders now?"
"No, send it to Roddy first. Send it to Tyre and the others tomorrow. If they send it together, they won't be able to explode." Horn smiled and said, "Housekeeper Helsing, you've worked hard all these years. Many times I'm not a competent manager, and this time I'm doing the same. I'm sure you've had a headache these past few years."
Helsing's body trembled, he bowed and said, "It's my honor to be able to serve Master."
'"No matter what, in my heart, you are one of my most important friends. These words used to be kept in my heart because it was inconvenient to say them. But now that I can finally say them, I know that they are not as difficult as I thought. Alright, are my airships ready?"
"We're already on standby in the square."
Horn helped the old butler up and said indifferently, "There's no need to send him off this time. Goodbye."
"Master!" Helsing wanted to say something, but in the end, she swallowed her words and nodded, "Be careful."
Horn turned around and strode away.
He saw Anna in the lobby downstairs. Anna, who was still wearing a suit, put her hands behind her back and looked into Horn's eyes. "Master, do you have to go?" He said.
"Ten years ago, Lanny left me. I didn't do anything and eventually lost him forever." "So I can't lose Alan today," Horn continued. "No matter what kind of son he is, or what kind of federal prisoner he is. All I know is that he's my family! No one treats my Horn family like pigs or sheep, and neither does the president of the Federation!"
"But you still have other family members."
"That's why I banished myself." Horn stopped and looked at his warrior. "Alan, I want to save you, but at the same time, I can't let the Federation have something on me because of this. Horn is only Horn now, and even if anything happens today, it has nothing to do with Beskard. If you understand, please step aside, Anna."
"I won't move." Anna smiled, "Because I have to go with you, Master. Anna will always be Horn's secret warrior. It has nothing to do with his identity, only because he is Horn."
"I won't allow you to do that. You still have children." Horn shook his head.
'"I know, but don't worry, I've arranged everything." Anna said in a low voice, "I'm a mother, but before I was a mother, I was already a master's warrior. Wherever the master goes, I'll naturally be there. Even if you want to go into the darkness, I'll follow."
"This is my Warrior's Dao!"
Horn took a deep look at her and nodded, "Then come, time waits for no one."
That afternoon, the Federal Intelligence Service discovered an unmarked airship leaving Babylon without registering with the Federal Control Service from Castle Ugarte. The Federation immediately dispatched a rapid-fire warship to intercept him, but the enemy mercilessly smashed him down. By the time Alan received the notification, the Intelligence Service had already lost track of the airship.
On the same day, Castle Ugarte issued a statement on behalf of Horn, announcing that Horn had handed over the position of Patriarch of Beskard and expelled him from the family, and that he had no relationship with Beskard ever again. When the statement was released through the media, the entire Babylon felt as if it had experienced a strong shock. Everyone was puzzled by Horn's decision, and only a very small number of people knew the meaning behind the statement.
Alstair was definitely one of them, and when he received the news, he had just poured himself a glass of wine. After hearing this news, he drank it all in one gulp. However, he felt that the usually delicious wine had become incomparably bitter today.
