Chapter 73: Titan
Chapter 73: Chapter 73: Titan
The Forest of Forget-Me-Nots was, even after the storm and the fire, heavily populated with wild animals.
Deer, at least three wolf packs which fought over the forest so, as if it was prime real estate, bears, which liked to hunt for honey around the fields with the forget-me-nots, which, even though they had no smell, still attracted the bees somehow...
It all changed when Titan took to the forest.
I was watching it all unfold through his eyes! Something I figured I should do. I had no idea if that rice monster was going to start eating trees.
That was a big no-no for a nymph! I couldn’t let him do it!
Titan ignored the trees. He did scratch himself against their bark, which was something that I found strange, but moved on without hurting the trees too much.
I figured that there was nothing to be done. He was a boss mob, not a saint.
And then, a bunny hopped right before his feet!
I smiled. What a cute, little fluff ball! I told myself, as I urged Titan to take it in his hands.
I wanted to see the bunny from close-up!
I got the chance to see such a fluffy, chubby, cute creature so rarely...
Crunch!
The bunny bit off a chunk of Titan!
I watched in mute horror as it chewed. It was such a lovely, fluffy creature! Why had it done such a thing...?
Snap!
Titan snapped the bunny’s neck!
Crunch...
The bunny’s neck was bleeding. My mind was in such a state of shock that it wasn’t registering that the bunny’s neck was bleeding because the bunny didn’t have a head anymore!
Crunch...
And now I could see guts hanging off the bunny. I whimpered.
No! It wasn’t supposed to be like that! Titan was supposed to take the mana of these creatures!
That was how I thought a mob evolved...
Suddenly, just for a split second, I saw that there were stats and apparently descriptions of body parts.
Titan kicked me out of that system screen with a kick so fierce, I fell to the ground!
I saw as he picked to have the leg muscles of the bunny.
Then he hopped! In the air! The carcass of the bunny falling to the ground!
"Aron!" I didn’t want to ask him for help, but I feared that I had created a monster! "Please! It needs to be stopped!"
"What?" Aron asked, looking at me and forgetting about the tree house he was apparently constructing in the area. "Oh! You have a boss mob now! That is so good, Bunny-bun!"
He didn’t understand! The Forest of Forget-Me-Nots was supposed to become a tourist trap! A garden which was so enticing that it was going to steal a person’s breath away!
Titan had a mind of his own!
And... the fangs of a wolf... wait, what?
I looked around. There were guts on the snow. The very crimson snow.
"Aron!" I yelled, as I shared the feed I was getting from Titan with my husband. "It needs to be stopped!"
"No," Aron told me, making a couple of steps towards me. "It needs to be nurtured!"
I watched in mute horror as Aron’s mana flew out of the dungeon and merged in with Titan!
Titan’s skin began to change. No longer did he look like a very ugly cookie!
Now he had human skin, the leg muscle of a bunny and the fangs of the wolves he had killed off in his journey to evolve!
This was bad, I told myself, as I counted the wolves he had killed. That was the mana of fifteen wolves! And Titan was just a single boss mob...
"Master," he said, his voice about as smooth as Aron’s. "I will have you!"
I hid behind Aron, whimpering!
Because I was a drake, I thought that Titan was trying to tell me that he’d eat me.
But Titan had taken too much of Aron’s mana, who, in his wisdom, had turned him into a boss mob vampire who could evolve.
Titan was still made from rice, or so I thought. I was already preparing to stop him myself!
"Come at me!" Even as I hid behind Aron, I still felt the need to talk so, as if I was brave. After all, if one showed weakness, one got eaten... "I will make the best chicken breasts to go with you! And white wine sauce!"
I heard as Desmond patted his belly. Nate let out a chuckle, which was melodic.
I didn’t know it at the time, but my Foodie Nymph Harem was going to grow.
Seeing as I wasn’t getting the support I needed from my three men, I decided to ask a friend to save my life!
"Nick!" I connected to him via Nate’s telecommunication rune. I heard as Desmond huffed, Nate sighed, and Aron clicked his tongue. But, of course, I didn’t think much of it. "I created a Boss Mob who can evolve! He wants to eat me now!"
Nick was by my side the next second. He looked just like I remembered him:
Brown hair, brown eyes, dimples. He had a dagger in his hand which shone a green light.
"Nick," Desmond said, he sounded so, as if he was ready to pull hair. "The Boss Mob actually wants snu-snu."
I blinked. Snu... what now?
"Sex," Edda told me, sounding one more grumble away from quitting.
"Oh..." I murmured, as Nick shook his head.
"Darn it!" He said, as he placed the dagger back into its scabbard. "Ok! Breathe Nick, breathe!"
I blinked. Was he having a heart attack? I needed to make him tea!
"Nick, lay down!" I told him. Of course, that could have had a double meaning for him, for all that I had a harem.
But I wasn’t thinking about that! He needed to calm down! He needed a cup of tea to lower his blood pressure!
Of course, I was no healer. Nor had I ever successfully saved someone who was having a heart attack.
Nick laid down, closing his eyes.
The disappointment in those brown orbs when I propped him against the wall and placed a cup of tea with a rune on it in his hands was clear to be seen.
Now, this had been happening a lot lately. Even a drake can learn.
"Oh," I said, as he didn’t begin to drink from his cup. "You want in the Foodie Nymph Harem?"
He nodded.
I sighed.
