Dungeon? This Tree? Why Don't You Join Me for Lunch? (Dungeon Core) -
Chapter 106: Food and Joy!
Chapter 106: Chapter 106: Food and Joy!
"Did you pack all of the socks?" I asked for the tenth time.
Pan was going to stay with his husbands. That git Solas was married!
Had been for years now!
I simply couldn’t understand the man. He loved Brandon, but he did not get a divorce from this king Nicodemus of Briar.
A war hound like no other!
I had a mind to go there and teach him a lesson, but the kids had it covered.
So, my first destination was the Island of Bear!
There were no bears on that island.
That was the funny thing I found about this strange place. It was an island populated by gnomes!
Yes, I wanted to get back in Bob’s good graces.
I planned to get to know those gnomes and then build a bridge between their farming community and my tourists.
Who may or may not be my mobs now... It wasn’t very clear what my mushrooms were doing to them.
All I knew was that I was healing them. Not only healing them but letting them conceive.
It was a strange world.
But the main quest, as I saw it, was to keep on powering up the barrier around the world. The one which was now co-powered by me and Belladonna.
Who, bless her fairy heart, didn’t hold it against me that instead of asking her how Pan came to be, I declared war.
Like a drake...
But, hey, I still made sure that her pantry was full of snacks that wouldn’t go against her diet.
And Aurora was tormenting her, without me lifting a finger. That dungeon core was evil. Putting perfectly pretty people who had no health problems on a diet.
I had half a mind to send her some of my chubbier humans, however.
There was this one girl who couldn’t get up, no matter how many mushrooms her family fed her. Kind of hard, too, seeing as she is about thrice my weight.
And I am no lightweight, I’ll have you know! I do exercise!
By lifting heavy pots, and pans!
Exercising by cutting up vegetables and meat! By bringing water from the well, which is no easy feat!
That’s enough... right?
"Hey, Titan," if there was one person who’d be painfully obvious, and tell me the truth, then Titan. "Do I need to go on a diet?"
He hummed! He actually hummed! His eyes found my middle.
"I don’t know, Sylvan," he was built like a statue, and I was soft around the middle... "But... all that walking will fix you! Hey, Aron, return the horses if you’d be so kind!"
I pouted.
Darn... I would have to carry all of my bags while walking. No horses were against my human rights!
And yes, nymphs had rights as well. Even human ones. We look human enough, so why can’t we have human rights?
"So, we’ll walk," Desmond grinned!
The next thing I knew he was in a tight T-shirt and shorts.
Amdis snorted. He was already in shorts, fur-lined ones, bless his heart, but I still felt that those two should not expose that much skin!
What if someone stole them from me?
Then it dawned on me! I had a harem! Those needed an upkeep!
And instead of an upkeep, I have been collecting more members!
Darn... I needed to turn into a Romeo! Before Desmond ran off into the sunset with Max, who may or may not be able to bake better than me!
I wasn’t jealous. I found it hot, even.
Yeah... Max was in the harem.
"Hey, Sylvan," Aron was by my side, my shining ex-vampire knight. "No more men for you."
"We see one more," Titan continued, someone I knew would make good on his threat if he said one out loud. "And we will name you a cheater and leave you."
"Yeah," Desmond just went to stand between Nate and Nick. "And prance off to the sunset with someone else!"
"Who does not snore," Nate teased, but I knew he would be the last to leave.
We had a connection.
"I’ll be heartbroken," unlike the rest, Nick was about as old as dirt. He had had another family and had been in and out of love with Solas.
He was someone who had loved me from afar for so long that he would forgive me.
But I would feel like trash, I already knew back then, if I even made him do it.
"Besides!" Amdis had no mercy in his fairy heart. He had come to seduce; he had seduced and was not the most mana-rich fairy in the world.
"No, let me say it," Max said as he offered me his hand. "Sylvan, we all love you... and don’t want to share your cooking with anyone else!"
That was the right thing to say! I was in his arms and laughing the next second!
"No more men!" It was going to be a hard vow to keep, but I was certain I would be able to do it. "And we get a wedding!"
They all paled.
Ha! Got them!
"Aron is no longer a vampire," I continued, as the evil imp I was. There are laws against divorcing nymphs...
It was now or never! I was either going to done a white veil or prance off to the sunset on my own!
"At the end of the journey. When we return to the Tree of Memories," Titan knew me better than I knew myself.
He knew that my drake heart would be tempted. Even if I had more men than I could cook for.
"Titan!" I whined.
He just snorted.
"Fine."
But little did he know, I was ready to go on his nerves. To make him go with me to shop after shop for my wedding clothes.
Some we would lose during a dungeon delving mission. Some during wars.
Until the final one...
Well, I guess you’ll just have to be patient. The story for the one final wedding robe is the end of my story.
And my story is just beginning!
By the way, the tourists left a stove on in the Cave of Sin while we were beginning our journey, and we had to double back to put out the fire.
I cut their mushroom rations, I did!
Guess even I have a dark side...
But, hey, now that they are paying rent, I have started to pay my taxes!
Solas was going to be proud when he found out!
