Chapter 110: New Alpha King

Alpha Grey’s eyes shifted to Aurora, his gaze filled with fury and betrayal. "Aurora! Will you stand by while they do this to me? I am your father!"

Aurora met his gaze steadily, her voice quiet but filled with confidence. "You stopped being my father the day you decided power mattered more than family. The day you decided cruelty was your answer to every challenge. I’ve seen who you really are."

Alpha Grey’s face twisted in a sneer, but his fury couldn’t hide the panic that had begun to creep into his eyes.

Lucas leaned forward, his gaze unwavering. "Alpha Grey, you believed you were untouchable. You thought yourself beyond consequence. But that ends today."

Alpha Grey shot him a glare, his hands still clenching against the silver cuffs, the pain evident in his expression as the metal burned against his skin.

"This will not stand," he snarled. "I will not stand for this."

The lead Elder from the Grey pack gave a signal, and several guards moved forward to secure Alpha Grey for transport. "Your sentence will be carried out immediately. Ten years, Alpha Grey. Perhaps in that time, you will come to understand the true meaning of leadership."

"Mark my words!" Alpha Grey shouted, struggling against the guards as they moved to escort him from the sacred site. "You will all regret this! None of you will be safe!"

But his threats were met with silence.

The gathered Alphas watched as he was taken from the room, his voice fading as he was led away, his era of control and cruelty finally coming to an end.

When the doors closed, a stillness settled over the sacred site. Lucas glanced over at Aurora, his gaze softening.

She nodded to him, a small, quiet acknowledgment passing between them.

Aurora’s heart felt both heavy and relieved—her father’s reign had ended, and though it would take time to heal the scars he’d left behind, today marked a new beginning.

The Elders began to disperse, and as the Rossi Elders turned to leave, one of them paused to speak to Lucas. "You’ve done well to bring this to our attention," he said quietly. "The future will be better for it."

Lucas inclined his head, his voice steady. "It was the right thing to do."

---

The sacred hall emptied as Elders, Alphas, and those bearing witness to Alpha Grey’s downfall quietly filed out.

Lucas and Aurora remained standing together, watching the last of the council members depart.

The sense of finality hung in the air, but so did an unspoken uncertainty.

Aurora’s gaze lingered on the spot where her father had been led away, his threats still echoing faintly in her mind.

Lucas placed a reassuring hand on her shoulder. "You did well, Aurora. Your strength brought you here. He may have been your father, but you’ve shown everyone here what a true leader is."

Aurora gave a slight nod, her voice soft. "Thank you, Lucas. For standing by me."

As they exchanged a quiet look, a man across the hall remained, watching the two of them with veiled amusement.

He wore a dark face cap pulled low, casting a shadow over his eyes, but the sharp smirk that crept onto his face was visible.

He seemed almost entertained by the spectacle of Alpha Grey’s removal, his lips twitching with silent plans.

Lucas glanced over, briefly noting the stranger, but the man turned his face away, nonchalantly adjusting his cap.

When Lucas and Aurora finally turned and exited the hall, the man allowed himself a chuckle under his breath.

"Ten years, huh?" he muttered, watching them disappear down the corridor. "Seems there’s a new vacancy for Alpha King."

He lingered in the shadows until the last of the guards had finished clearing the hall.

Then, in one fluid motion, he stepped forward, positioning himself at the center where Alpha Grey had stood, as though trying the place on for size.

He raised his hands, spreading them wide with an air of triumph, as if addressing an audience only he could see.

"Long live the new Alpha King," he murmured, a twisted satisfaction gleaming in his eyes.

Outside, Lucas and Aurora were greeted by a brisk breeze that felt almost refreshing after the somber atmosphere of the sacred site.

Aurora sighed, letting the wind brush against her face, attempting to shake off the lingering chill her father’s words had left her.

Lucas looked over at her, sensing her turmoil. "He’s gone," he said quietly. "You don’t have to look back."

Aurora’s gaze was fixed on the horizon.

"I know," she replied, her voice firm. "But it doesn’t mean there isn’t more work ahead."

Lucas nodded, understanding. "No, it doesn’t. But you’ve set us all on the right path."

Just then, one of the Elders, a senior member of the Rossi pack, approached.

He bowed his head respectfully to Aurora and Lucas. "The council will gather again tomorrow to discuss the transition of leadership for Grey’s pack. Both of you are invited, as there will be new positions open within the ranks."

"Of course, Elder. We’ll be there," Lucas replied, his tone respectful.

The Elder looked from Lucas to Aurora. "For what it’s worth, I believe your father’s removal will mark the beginning of better days. Not everyone has the strength to stand up to a figure like Alpha Grey, and fewer still can do it with honor. You’ve shown both."

Aurora gave him a small, grateful smile. "Thank you, Elder."

With a final nod, the Elder took his leave, leaving Lucas and Aurora alone once more.

Lucas cleared his throat, breaking the silence. "We should get you some rest. It’s been a long day."

Aurora nodded, exhaustion creeping over her features. "Yes, that sounds like a good idea."

---

Inside the sacred hall, the man in the face cap moved stealthily, assessing the area and seemingly noting every detail.

He walked slowly, inspecting the walls, the seats where the Elders had sat, and finally, the center stone where Alpha Grey had stood.

He muttered to himself, almost amused. "So much power, right under everyone’s noses. And they don’t even realize it."

A sly grin tugged at his lips as he mentally mapped out his plans.

With Alpha Grey gone, there was nothing standing in his way.

All he needed was a subtle push, a way to sway the remaining Elders to see things his way, and he could ascend to the very top.

He adjusted his cap, casting his gaze once more around the empty hall before slipping out, merging seamlessly into the departing crowd.
