Chapter 108: End This

Aurora stood outside the office door, taking a deep breath.

Her heart was racing, but she quickly shook off the nervousness, reminding herself of her purpose.

She adjusted her blazer, straightened her posture, and knocked on the door.

"Come in," Lucas’s voice echoed from within.

The firm tone didn’t help calm her nerves, but she pushed them aside and entered the office, determined to keep her composure.

Lucas was seated behind his desk, looking up as she stepped in.

His eyes briefly flickered with something—something unreadable—but he quickly masked it with a neutral expression.

Aurora, keeping her own emotions in check, greeted him.

"Mr. Lucas," she began, her voice even. "Gabriel told me to come to your office."

Inwardly, Lucas felt a small growl rise in his mind.

He didn’t like her calling him Mr. Lucas.

She didn’t really need to, not after everything.

But he brushed the irritation off just as quickly. In time, she wouldn’t need to call him that anymore.

"Yes, I called for you," Lucas said, his voice measured.

He gestured to the chair opposite his desk. "Come sit."

Aurora nodded and walked across the room, her footsteps quiet against the plush carpet.

She sat down, folding her hands neatly in her lap, her expression professional.

"I wanted to discuss something important with you," Lucas said, folding his hands on the desk in front of him. "After Alpha Grey was taken away, we initiated legal actions to reclaim the land he refused to return to me."

Aurora’s gaze hardened slightly at the mention of her father.

She clenched her fists, just for a moment, then quickly released them.

Lucas noticed the small movement, but he didn’t comment on it.

"It’s been a struggle," Lucas continued, his tone calm but firm. "Alpha Grey refuses to let go of what isn’t his. It’s been a fight, and frankly, it’s getting to the point where more aggressive actions will need to be taken."

Aurora swallowed, her throat tight.

Despite everything Alpha Grey had done to her, a part of her still remembered the father he had once been.

But that part had long since faded, replaced by the man who had turned into someone she could barely recognize.

Lucas leaned forward slightly, his voice lowering. "However, before I proceed further, I wanted to discuss it with you. I know he’s your father, and I thought it was important to hear your thoughts on the matter. Will you be alright with me taking more severe actions against him?"

Aurora felt a lump rise in her throat.

She had always wanted to believe there was still some good in her father, some part of him that might return to what he had once been.

But after all the cruelty, all the selfishness, and after what he had done to her, she knew there was no going back.

Alpha Grey had become a man she could no longer defend.

She exhaled slowly, composing herself.

"No," she said quietly, her voice steady despite the conflict swirling within her. "You should go ahead with whatever actions you need to take. I no longer see him as my father after everything he’s done. He... he deserves the consequences of his actions."

Lucas watched her carefully, gauging her response.

When she spoke, there was no hesitation, no wavering.

It was clear she had made up her mind.

He nodded slightly. "Alright, then."

With that, he pressed a button on his desk.

A moment later, the door to the office opened, and Gabriel stepped in, his expression calm and focused as always.

Aurora’s eyes widened slightly in surprise.

She hadn’t realized he had been waiting outside the whole time, likely standing there from the moment she had walked in, just waiting for Lucas’s signal to enter.

Gabriel approached the desk with his usual efficiency, carrying a stack of papers.

He handed them over to Lucas, who took them without a word.

Then, turning his gaze back to Aurora, Lucas held out the documents to her.

"Mrs. Aurora," he said, his tone even. "I think you should review these."

Aurora hesitated for only a moment before reaching out and taking the papers from his hands.

As she glanced down at them, her eyes slowly widened.

The documents were filled with evidence—detailed accounts, reports, and witness testimonies.

All of them pointed to one thing: her father’s involvement in eliminating pups for the sake of securing his position as Alpha King.

Her heart sank as she scanned through the pages.

There was no denying the truth. Alpha Grey had crossed every line imaginable, and the evidence laid out before her was overwhelming.

She had known her father was capable of cruelty, but this... this was something far worse than she had ever imagined.

Aurora set the papers down slowly, her hands trembling ever so slightly.

"How did you get these?" she asked quietly, her voice tinged with disbelief.

Lucas leaned back in his chair, his eyes never leaving hers. "We’ve been gathering evidence for a while," he said simply. "I needed to know the full extent of what he had done, not just to me, but to others. I couldn’t move forward without understanding the depths of his actions. And now that I have the proof..." He trailed off, letting the implications hang in the air.

Aurora stared down at the papers, her mind racing.

She had always suspected her father’s ruthless ambition, but seeing the cold, hard evidence in front of her was something else entirely.

Lucas had been digging into her father’s past—his dark, twisted past—without her knowing. And now, here it was, laid bare for her to see.

"He... did this," she whispered, more to herself than to anyone in the room. "He really did this."

Lucas nodded, watching her reaction closely.

"I didn’t want to move forward without involving you," he said softly, his voice carrying a note of understanding. "I know this must be difficult for you, but I wanted you to have the choice. I didn’t want to take actions without knowing where you stood."

Aurora swallowed hard, trying to keep her composure.

She had already made her decision—she had to let Lucas take the actions necessary to stop her father.

There was no going back now.

Alpha Grey had to face the consequences, even if it meant tearing apart whatever remnants of family she had left.

"You’re right," Aurora said, her voice firming up. "He can’t be allowed to continue like this. If these documents are real, then he deserves to be stopped."

"They’re real," Lucas assured her. "I’ve made sure of it."

Aurora nodded slowly, her mind still reeling from the weight of what she had just seen.

She could feel the pull of her past, the memories of her father before he had become what he was now.

But those memories were distant, buried under the reality of who Alpha Grey had turned into.

She set the papers back on Lucas’s desk, her decision made. "Do what you need to do, Mr. Lucas. I don’t have any loyalty left for him."

Lucas studied her for a moment longer, then gave a single nod. "Understood."

Gabriel, still standing near the desk, waited for a cue from Lucas.

When Lucas nodded slightly, Gabriel picked up the documents again and stepped back toward the door, preparing to take further action.

Aurora stood from her chair, her emotions swirling beneath the surface, but her expression remained calm.

She had made her choice, and now there was no turning back.

As she turned to leave the office, Lucas called after her softly, "Aurora."

She paused at the door, glancing back at him. His gaze was softer now, more personal.

"You did the right thing," he said, his voice low. "No matter how hard it was."

Aurora gave him a faint nod, but she couldn’t bring herself to say anything in return.

With that, she left the office, her heart heavier than before, but her resolve stronger than ever.

Once she was gone, Lucas leaned back in his chair, exhaling a slow breath. Gabriel stood at attention, waiting for further instructions, but Lucas waved him off.

"Go ahead," Lucas said quietly. "It’s time we end this."
