Chapter 98: Turbulent Waters.
"Arrrgh... I’m going crazy now!" Aiden exclaimed in frustration. "Where is Lucas? Why aren’t you saying anything? Did you get separated from him because you wanted to be with Mark’s girlfriend?" He added, glaring angrily at Olive.
"No!!!" Olive and Lara exclaimed together.
"No? Can you explain why you’re both in the same room? You both spent the night together. Aren’t you ashamed of yourselves?" Aiden pressed on, his face contorted with disdain.
"It’s not like that Aiden. I and Lara are just friends. There’s a reason why she was in my room but you’ll never understand." Olive replied with a heavy sigh.
"You believe me, right?" Lara asked, her gaze fixed on Mark, ignoring Aiden’s presence and focusing solely on Mark. "Arthur and I are just friends, I swear."
Mark smiled reassuringly. "I trust you," he said, stepping forward and taking Lara’s hand.
"Damn! You’ve been charmed," Aiden said with disbelief. "I can’t believe you trust her when the truth is right before us. They spent the night together, and you still trust them? Did you really hit your head against the wall?"
"And you Arthur, I have started to see you as a friend just as Mark and Lucas do but now you disappointed me. I’m highly disappointed in you but what do i expect, you children from poor family background are so shameless." Aiden yelled, as he rolled his eyes in distain.
"Can you just stop this nonsense now, Aiden?!" Mark shouted, his body tense with anger. "I trust Lara and I also trust Arthur. I’m sure there’s a reason why we met both of them together."
"What reason? What valid reason could they possibly have?" Aiden chimed in with a smirk. "You’re so pathetic!"
The atmosphere was charged as the group stood, each wrestling with their feelings, emotions, and thoughts.
Henry walked up to Olive. "Are you okay, dude?" he asked, raising his eyebrows in curiosity. "Just ignore Aiden’s words."
"Yeah yeah. You should all ignore me." Aiden said with a smirk." The truth is always bitter anyway."
"Are you sure Lucas didn’t come home last night? Olive asked her expression worried, not minding Aiden words as it wasn’t important to her.
"I should be asking you that. Didn’t you both disappear yesterday? How come you’re back but he’s nowhere to be seen?" Henry asked, his expression puzzled.
"I don’t know. I left him alone. I thought he’d be back by now," Olive said, her face showing worry.
’Is he okay? I really hope he is,’ Olive thought to herself, her expression downcast and concerned.
"You left him alone? Yeah, because you wanted to meet with Lara," Aiden interjected, prompting the rest of the group to facepalm.
"Can you just shut up?" Olive, Mark, Henry, and Lara yelled in unison, sending waves of shock down Aiden’s spine.
Just then, Lucas walked in, his expression somber as he met the group’s gaze.
"Lucas? Where have you been ? Thank goodness you’re here, buddy. I’ve been so worried," Aiden said as he walked up to Lucas and grabbed his arm. "Did you drink? You reek of alcohol," he added, holding his breath.
Olive’s eyes lingered on Lucas, tears welling up but she fought to keep them from falling.
"Can you just guide me to my room?" Lucas asked, his voice barely above a whisper, his expression downcast. "I need to rest."
"Where have you been since last night? Arthur said you both got separated. Where did you go?" Mark asked, stepping forward. " We’ve checked your room as from this morning to invite you for breakfast but you’re nowhere to be found."
"Can you just get lost? You should be worried about your girlfriend spending the night in your friend’s room," Aiden interjected, blocking Mark’s approach. "You already said you trust your girlfriend more than my words, so I believe you trust her more than Lucas too. You wouldn’t believe whatever comes out of his mouth anyway."
Lucas’s gaze met Olive’s, and for a moment, they just stared at each other. Olive’s eyes brimmed with tears, but she quickly looked away, trying to compose herself.
"I don’t want to talk about it," Lucas said, his voice still barely above a whisper. "I just want to go to my room."
"Come on, man, what happened?" Henry asked, concern etched on his face. "We’re all so worried about you."
Lucas shook his head and started walking toward his room, Aiden still holding onto his arm.
"Just let him be. He’ll eventually tell us when he cools down," Mark interjected with a heavy sigh as he watched Lucas and Aiden disappear from view. He then turned his attention back to Lara. "Let’s have breakfast and enjoy the rest of the day," he added, grabbing her hand and leading her away.
Olive couldn’t shake the feeling of sadness. She knew Lucas was upset because of her, and she felt awful about it.
"Let’s go have breakfast. I believe you don’t have anything with Lara, so stop looking so sad," Henry said, abruptly pulling Olive out of her whirlpool of thoughts.
’Idiot! Who said I’m sad because of Lara?’ Olive thought to herself with a smirk.
Henry then grabbed her arm and led her along.

After the group finished breakfast—except for Lucas and Aiden, who refused to join them—they all settled on the beach.
As they relaxed on the beach, the warm sun on their skin and the sound of the waves created a sense of calm, a stark contrast to the earlier tension. Olive couldn’t help but glance back at the villa, wondering what was happening with Lucas and Aiden.
"Hey, who wants to swim?" Lara asked excitedly, running towards the ocean and jumping in.
The others seemed uninterested.
"Who wants to play volleyball?" Henry asked, and Mark raised his hand. They walked away to start their game, laughing and joking as they played, leaving Olive to her thoughts. She tried to shake off her concerns, but her gaze kept drifting back to the villa.
"Hey! Come on!" Lara yelled, urging Olive to join her. "The water is so cool."
"No! You go ahead. I’ll just stay here," Olive replied, forcing a smile, her eyes still darting back to the villa.
"Come on!" Lara said, her eyes pleading as she walked out of the ocean and sat down before Olive.
"I’ll advise you to go back to Mark before he starts to believe what Aiden said about us." Olive warned with seriousness etched in her tone.
"Aiden is sick. I never knew he could be so dumb. And you should stop worrying about Mark as he believes me. He doesn’t even question me about why I spent the night in your room. Even when I try to bring it up, he just waves it away," Lara explained with a heavy sigh. "He really trusts me."
"I guess so," Olive replied. "I’m worried about Lucas, though. He drank alcohol because of me," she added, her gaze fixed on the villa entrance.
"Come on. If you want him to forget about you quickly, you need to be serious about it. Don’t give him any face. And if you also want to forget about him, you have to strengthen your heart, and you’ll be able to move on faster and focus on your studies," Lara said, her voice serious.
"I know. I just feel bad seeing him like that," Olive said, her expression downcast.
"Come on and swim in the ocean. I’m sure you’ll feel more relaxed," Lara said, dragging Olive towards the water despite her reluctance.
"But my clothes? My gender would be revealed if they get wet," Olive said, worried.
"Mark and Henry aren’t here as well as Lucas and Aiden. No one would be able to discover your gender but if you’re still worried, I’ll get you a towel before you get out of the water so no one will discover your real gender," Lara persuaded, dragging Olive along until they both began to swim.
After swimming for several minutes, Lara headed out of the water, leaving Olive alone.
"I’ll be right back, though. Let me get you a towel before you come out of the water. We don’t know if Mark and Henry will return soon. She said while Olive nodded in agreement and continued to enjoy the water coldness.
As Olive swam, she suddenly felt a sharp pain in her leg. She tried to ignore it, but it worsened, causing her to struggle. Her movements grew weaker, and she began sinking underwater, nearly losing consciousness. Just before she did, she saw a figure swimming towards her. The figure wrapped a strong arm around her waist, pulling her up and out of the water and laid her on the floor.
"Hey! Olive!" Lucas called as he tried to rouse her. "Open your eyes, okay?"
Lucas performed mouth-to-mouth resuscitation, his lips pressing against hers. He also patted her back, making her vomit out the water.
Olive’s eyes slowly fluttered open, her gaze blurry. She tried to speak, but her voice was hoarse.
"Lucas?" she whispered, focusing on his concerned face.
"Yeah, it’s me," Lucas replied, his arm still around her waist. "I’ve got you. You’re safe."
Olive’s memories of the pain in her leg and sinking underwater came flooding back. She looked up at Lucas, her eyes wide with gratitude.
"Thank you," she whispered, her voice filled with emotion.
Lucas’s expression was stern as he pulled her closer. "Don’t say anything."
Olive realized Lucas was still holding her, his arm around her waist. She felt a flutter in her chest, her heart skipping a beat. He soon lifted her off the ground, carrying her in a bridal style as her arms wrapped around his neck.
