Disguised As A Boy To Attend Belmont High School
Chapter 53: Recovery and Resolve

Chapter 53: Recovery and Resolve

Olive limped over to the bathroom, conveniently located inside the bedroom, feeling like she was in a luxury hotel suite.

Upon entering the bathroom, she admired the sleek and modern fixtures. The sink and toilet were made of shiny porcelain, and the shower stall was enclosed in glass. She started filling the bathtub with warm water, grimacing as she eased herself into the tub.

As she soaked in the water, she felt her muscles relaxing and unwinding. Closing her eyes, she let out a deep sigh, thankful for the opportunity to freshen up and tend to her injuries.

After some time, she got out of the tub and dried herself off, wincing as she moved her sore knees. Wrapping herself in a soft towel, she returned to the bedroom where she had set up a first-aid kit and antiseptic wipes. Carefully, she cleaned and bandaged her wounds, wincing with each touch.

As she wrapped up, a knock at the door interrupted her. "Just a moment," she replied, her voice gentle.

She swiftly changed back into her blood-stained school uniform and called out, "You may enter now."

Mark came in, his expression filled with worry. "How are you doing?" he inquired, his gaze moving over her face and legs.

Olive smiled weakly. "I’m feeling much better," she admitted.

Mark nodded, his eyes lingering on her wounds. "I brought some food and medicine," he said, holding up a tray. "I thought you might need something to help with the pain."

Olive’s eyes filled with gratitude. "Thank you, Mark," she said, her voice sincere. "You’ve been a lifesaver."

"Why are you still in those dirty uniforms?" Mark asked as he placed the tray of food and medicine down. He then walked over to his drawer, which was filled with expensive clothes, shoes, a wristwatch, belts, and more. From the drawer, he select

ed a new set of Belmont school uniform and placed it beside Olive.

"Here! You should change into this after eating and taking your medicine," Mark said with a smile before sitting down on the sofa next to Olive.

His eyes stayed on Olive as she devoured the plate of bacon and sandwiches before taking her medicine.

"Are you going to keep staring at me like that? It’s kind of creepy," Olive finally said with a heavy sigh.

"I just want to make sure you finish your food and take your medicine," Mark replied, still gazing at Olive with a smile on his lips.

"You can’t participate in the debate and rugby competition looking like this. You need to rest and recover," Mark suggested.

"Huh? Is the competition starting already?" Olive asked, looking puzzled.

"Did you hit your head or something? You’re usually the most excited about this competition, but you seem to have forgotten it starts tomorrow," Mark revealed with a frustrated sigh.

"Tomorrow!" Olive exclaimed as she sprang up from bed, only to wince in pain as her injured knees protested.

"You can’t participate in it," Mark said, letting out a heavy sigh.

"I have to. This scholarship means everything to me," Olive replied, her voice filled with determination. "It could change my life."

"I understand, but not this time. You can try again next term," Mark insisted, exasperated by Olive’s nonchalant attitude towards her injuries. "And isn’t Lucas your teammate? He probably won’t want to participate now that you two are on bad terms."

"He would definitely participate. I’m also in rugby, so it’s only right that he participates in the debate competition," Olive said confidently.

"You’re still thinking of participating in rugby? You really have a death wish if I must say, but aren’t you too young to die yet? Rugby requires physical strength and people get injured a lot. You’re already injured, do you want to break your legs and arms now?" Mark flared up in anger, his gaze fixed on Olive.

Olive was shocked at the sudden outburst, her eyes locked on Mark as he ranted. When he finished, she calmly responded, "I still have something that would make Lucas participate in the debate competition with me. Besides, the rugby coach wouldn’t allow me to participate in rugby now that I’m injured, so he’ll have to find someone else.

"And I can definitely participate in the debate competition because I only need my voice and don’t require any physical strength," Olive concluded.

"You’re quite stubborn, to be honest. Still debating who’s more stubborn between you and Lucas, Mark expressed his frustration with a heavy sigh. What could possibly make Lucas agree to participate in the debate competition after you received a red card from him?" He raised an eyebrow curiously, waiting for an answer.

"It’s a video of him bullying a student that I recorded on my first day of school." Olive finally revealed to Mark, causing a smirk to appear on his face.

"So he agreed to your request just because of a video? Are you serious?" Mark asked, his eyes still wide in shock.

"Yes? Is there a problem?" Olive asked, confusion evident on her face.

"Do you really think he agreed just because of that one video?" Mark asked, bursting into laughter, which made Olive frown. "There are plenty of bullying videos of him on my phone, and on the phones of many others, so why would he agree just because of one video?"

"What do you mean? Are you suggesting that he only agreed to participate in the debate competition willingly and the bullying video isn’t the cause?" Olive asked, her eyebrows raised in curiosity.

Mark then took out his phone from his pocket and played several bullying videos of Lucas bullying students.

"Whenever this type of video is posted on the Internet, it’s always taken down easily as it only costs money, and that amount of money is just a small sum for the George family." Mark further explained, his tone serious.

"I remember Miss Aimee saying that even if the George family deletes the video, Lucas still won’t be able to handle the negative comments from people." Olive stated.

"And you believe that?" Mark asked with a burst of laughter. "Lucas is the king of bullying and he’s used to people leaving hate comments, even in school, so why would a single video posted online and people commenting on it affect him?" He added, now with a serious expression.

’Then why did he agree to help me in the first place? If the bullying video isn’t a threat to him, why did he pretend that it was? What is that jerk planning?’ Olive thought to herself, her eyes red with anger, her fist tightly clenched, and her nose flared as she stared into space.
