Chapter 40: Spiked Drinks
"I don’t believe that though," Olive said as she shifted her gaze back to her book.
"No, believe me!" Samson said, feigning a sad expression, causing Olive to let out a light chuckle.
"You actually look good when you smile," Samson said, a smile now on his face as he looked at Olive, whose gaze was also fixed on him.
"So... friends?" Samson asked.
"Okay, it’s fine. Friends," Olive replied with a light chuckle.
*Cough*
"Looks like the couple is having a discussion," Lucas said, his arms folded as he stood before Olive and Samson.
"What the heck are you saying? Just don’t start again," Olive warned with a frown, while Lucas rolled his eyes.
"What’s up, man!" Samson greeted as he exchanged handshakes with Lucas. "It’s been a while since we last met."
"Yeah," Lucas replied as he settled down on a chair beside him. "I never thought you would leave Paris to come down to Europe."
"I never expected it, but Dad is here, so we have to move down here with him." Samson replied, a wide smile on his lips. "It’s unfortunate that there are no girls here anymore. No girls to hang out with!" He added.
" Yeah, genders got separated after Olive’s death." Lucas said, his expression now sad as he struggles to force out a smile.
His deceased sister bears the same name as me? Olive thought to herself, her eyes widening in surprise at the revelation.
"I’m sorry about your sister’s passing, man. It was tough on everyone. Are you doing okay now?" Samson asked, placing a hand on Lucas’s arm as he nodded in reply.
"I’m good but you might have a tough time here. It’s a boarding school, so no girls until there’s a break." Lucas said with a smirk.
"Who says I have to follow the damn rules? My dad is the principal now, remember?" Samson said, winking.
"And so...?" Lucas raised an eyebrow, looking puzzled.
"Well I’ll sneak out and won’t be caught. Besides, the school cameras would be shut down so no one would be able to see us" Samson revealed with a smirk, while Olive swallowed nervously and Lucas stared at Samson in disbelief.
"So you’re planning on going to a club? I remember getting caught sneaking out while my mom was in the country. I eventually spend the rest of the vacation at home." Lucas said with a heavy sigh. I just wish my mom would go back on her business trips and let me have my freedom again.
"I understand why you aren’t the tough bad boy who doesn’t give a damn about any rules that I know. Your mom is around. Samson said with an outburst of laughter.
"Anyways, there’s a party at the school building tonight. It’s in the underground parking lot at the back of the school, and you’re invited," Samson announced, causing Lucas and Olive to raise their eyebrows in surprise.
"You’ve already planned it? How did you even find out about the underground parking lot?" Lucas asked, looking puzzled.
"I have my ways. Anyway, there will be girls. I’ll be sneaking them in, so get ready for a fun night. Get ready to have a good time," Samson said with a smile.
Olive and Lucas exchanged glances and swallowed nervously.
"Well I’m In for a party." Lucas declared.
" Let’s party!" Olive chimed in with a bright expression.
_____
The night arrived quickly, and the students of Belmont High gathered at the underground parking lot, which had been transformed into a lively and exciting party venue. The air was filled with music, laughter, and a sense of rebellion and adventure.
The music thumped loudly, drawing everyone into a dance frenzy. Strobe lights illuminated the scene, creating a captivating atmosphere of joy and excitement as the crowd danced and enjoyed the night.
The atmosphere was filled with the scent of music, sweat, and freedom, the excitement of pushing boundaries and breaking rules. Samson, the party’s organizer, moved confidently through the crowd, his eyes gleaming with excitement and pride.
Olive, Lucas, Mark, and Aiden danced together, immersed in the music and the moment, leaving their worries and doubts behind. The party created its own world, a bubble of pure joy and release where only the present mattered.
"Come and have a drink," Samson said, leading Olive, Lucas, Mark, and Aiden to the bar and pouring them glasses of whiskey, unbeknownst to them that he had added drugs to it.
"I don’t drink," Olive said, attempting to return to the dance floor but being stopped by Samson.
"Just one drink won’t hurt," Samson insisted, handing them the glasses. "Let’s toast to a good life, new friendships, and enjoyment," he added as the friends drank, except for Olive who only took a sip.
The night grew darker as the students continued to dance to the music, engaging in various activities like kissing, drinking, and smoking.
As Olive danced, her eyes began to droop, unable to think clearly, everything fading to darkness around her until she lost consciousness.

The next morning, Olive slowly opened her eyes, groggily taking in her surroundings. She was in her own bed, in her dorm room, but her head was pounding and her memory was hazy. She tried to sit up, but a sharp pain shot through her head, making her wince.
"Hey, take it easy," Lucas said softly, his face appearing beside her bed. "You had a rough night."
Olive’s eyes focused on Lucas, and she tried to speak, but her voice was barely a whisper. "What...what happened?"
Lucas’s expression was concerned. "You don’t remember? Samson’s party...the drinks...you passed out."
Olive’s mind raced, trying to piece together the events of the previous night. She remembered the party, the music, the dancing...but everything after that was a blur.
Lucas handed her a glass of water, and she sipped it gratefully. "How did I get back here?" she asked, her voice still shaky.
"I carried you," Lucas replied, his eyes never leaving hers.
Olive’s eyes widened. "You carried me?" She asked trying to confirm what she heard as she tried covering her body with her blanket.
Although she was still dressed in the outfit of the night before but the thought of Lucas already finding out about her real identity was running through her mind
"Yes... Any problem?" Lucas asked bringing back Olive from her whirlpool of thoughts.
Considering his behavior, I’m sure he didn’t touch me but only laid me on the bed. Olive thought to herself, her gaze fixed on Lucas as if trying to read him.
"That bastard Samson. I swear I’m going to break his bones." Lucas said with anger etched in his voice.
Olive’s eyes widened as fragments of memory started to return. "Samson...he spiked the drinks, didn’t he?"
Lucas nodded solemnly. "Yes, I believe so. I didn’t drink my drink, but you...you had half a glass before you passed out. Mark and Aiden also passed out. You three should be grateful to me, I had to carry all of you to the dorms."
Olive’s face burned with anger and shame. "That jerk," she muttered, attempting to sit up once more.
Lucas gently pushed her back down. "Take it easy. We’ll handle Samson later."
As Olive settled back down, she realized that Lucas, of all people, had come to her rescue. She felt a wave of gratitude towards him, and her heart swelled with appreciation.
"Thank you, Lucas," she murmured, her eyes closing in exhaustion.
"No problem! By the way, the school security found out about the party," Lucas revealed, causing Olive’s eyes to widen in shock.
