Chapter 167: A Day Full Of Surprises.

"A hotel?!" Olive exclaimed, rounding on Lucas with an incredulous glare. "Have you completely lost your mind?"

The chauffeur drove the sleek black car into the hotel compound, where it stopped for a meticulous security check. Once cleared, the car rolled smoothly to a halt in front of the grand hotel entrance.

Lucas turned to Olive, his expression calm but serious. "Hey, I know what you’re thinking, but it’s not what you think. We’re not here for anything inappropriate. I just wanted us to relax and have some fun, that’s all. Trust me."

Olive let out a heavy sigh, her brows furrowing. "I really don’t understand why we’re here, Lucas. Class is still in session. People are bound to notice we’re missing. And we’re in our school uniforms, for goodness’ sake, standing in front of a hotel. Do you have any idea what kind of rumors this could start?"

Lucas smirked, raising an eyebrow playfully. "Should we change into something else then? Trust me nobody cares about us as they’re all busy with their own business."

His words earned him a sharp facepalm from Olive. "You’re impossible."

The chauffeur, a professional middle-aged man in his crisp uniform, exited the vehicle and opened the door for Lucas with a polite nod. Lucas stepped out confidently and turned to Olive, offering her his hand. She hesitated, her reluctance plain on her face.

"Are you not coming with me?" Lucas asked, his tone softening. "Trust me, I’ve got everything covered."

After a moment’s pause, Olive took his outstretched hand. "This better not backfire," she muttered, letting him help her out of the car.

Together, they entered the hotel, the grandeur of Belmont Hotel momentarily distracting Olive from her reservations.

The lobby was breathtaking. A soaring ceiling adorned with glittering crystal chandeliers gave the space an air of sophistication, while polished marble floors reflected the soft glow of elegant wall sconces. Vibrant artwork adorned the cream-colored walls, interspersed with lush greenery that added a touch of natural elegance.

"Wow," Olive breathed, her reluctance momentarily replaced by awe. "This is... stunning."

Lucas grinned, clearly pleased with her reaction. "I knew you’ll love it."

To their left, a cozy lounge area beckoned, furnished with plush sofas and armchairs arranged around a crackling fireplace. The rich aroma of freshly brewed coffee and pastries wafted from a nearby café, mingling with the faint melody of a piano playing in the background.

At the center of the lobby stood a magnificent fountain, its cascading waters sparkling under strategically placed lights. The soft, rhythmic sound of the water created a serene counterpoint to the low hum of conversations and the faint rustle of luggage wheels.

As they approached the reception desk, Olive glanced around, noticing the discreet but efficient staff and the elegant clientele who moved with a quiet confidence.

"Welcome to Belmont Hotel," the receptionist greeted them warmly, her polished appearance matching the hotel’s opulent ambiance.

"Hi," Lucas replied, his tone casual but self-assured. "I have a reservation under Lucas Belmont."

The receptionist’s demeanor shifted subtly, her smile widening in recognition. "Of course, Mr. Belmont. Your suite is ready. Please follow me."

Olive shot Lucas a questioning look as they followed the receptionist toward a private elevator. Leaning closer, she whispered, "A suite? Lucas, what’s going on?"

His grin was teasing. "You’ll see," he said enigmatically.

The elevator ride to the top floor was swift and smooth. When the doors slid open, they stepped into a luxurious corridor, its thick carpeting muffling their footsteps. The walls were lined with tastefully curated artwork, and the faint scent of lavender lingered in the air.

At the end of the hall, the receptionist unlocked the door to their suite and stepped aside, allowing them to enter.

Olive froze as she took in the sight before her. The suite was nothing short of magical. The room was lavishly decorated with a profusion of fresh flowers in every color imaginable. Balloons floated near the ceiling, their golden ribbons curling gracefully.

On the bed lay an assortment of designer bags, clothes, and shoes, each item neatly arranged as though in a boutique display. But the centerpiece was a towering "money cake," a meticulously crafted structure of banknotes stacked taller than Olive herself.

The receptionist discreetly exited, closing the door behind her.

Lucas walked over to the bed, picked up a bouquet of roses, and turned to Olive. "For you," he said, his tone softer now.

Olive accepted the bouquet, her fingers trembling slightly as she brought it to her nose to inhale the sweet fragrance. "Lucas..." she began, her voice barely above a whisper. "You really don’t have to do all these. This is too much."

Lucas shrugged casually, though a glimmer of satisfaction danced in his eyes. "I wanted to surprise you. You’ve been stressed out lately, and I thought you deserved a break."

Her gaze shifted to the extravagant gifts. "Like seriously, this is too much, Lucas. You really didn’t have to..."

"I wanted to," he interrupted, his tone gentle but firm. "It’s not every day I get to see you smile like that."

Olive felt her cheeks flush as she looked away, pretending to admire the decor to hide her embarrassment. "Thank you," she murmured, sincerity lacing her words.

Lucas’s smile softened as he watched her. "You’re welcome, babe."

After a moment of silence, Lucas clapped his hands together, breaking the spell. "I have one more surprise," he said, his tone light but mischievous.

Olive gave him a wary look. "Another one? When do the surprises end?"

"Just close your eyes," Lucas instructed, his grin widening.

With a sigh, Olive complied. Lucas took her hand and guided her to the suite’s balcony. "Okay, open your eyes," he said.

Olive’s jaw dropped as she took in the view. The city skyline stretched out before them, a dazzling tapestry of twinkling lights and vibrant colors. But what truly caught her attention was the elaborately set picnic on the balcony. A beautifully decorated table held fine china, crystal glasses, and an array of delectable dishes.

"Lucas," she whispered, her voice filled with wonder. "This is... incredible."

Lucas’s expression was one of quiet pride. "I’m glad you like it."

As they sat down to enjoy the impromptu feast, Olive felt herself beginning to relax. For the first time in weeks, the stress of her everyday life seemed to fade away.

Handing her a glass of fruit wine, Lucas chuckled. "I remembered you can’t handle alcohol, so I figured this would be safer."

Olive laughed softly, taking the glass from him. "Thoughtful of you," she said, raising the glass in a mock toast.

They talked and laughed, the cool morning breeze providing a mesmerizing backdrop. Just as Olive thought the morning couldn’t get any more surreal, Lucas leaned back with a sheepish grin.

"So... there’s one more thing," he began.

Olive groaned playfully. "Seriously, Lucas? What again?"

Lucas rubbed the back of his neck. "Aiden, Lara, and Mark are on their way here. There’s a family function happening downstairs, a big party with a bunch of rich families. It’s technically mandatory for me, Aiden, and Mark, but it’s going to be boring as hell without you."

Olive arched an eyebrow. "Let me guess. This entire day was just a bribe to get me to attend your fancy party."

Lucas grinned sheepishly. "No no. I really meant to make you happy and didn’t do all of these to bribe you. But seeing you at the party would make it bearable, Olive. Please?"

With an exaggerated sigh, Olive relented. "Fine, fine. I’ll go. The others are already on their way though. But we’re heading back to school as soon as it’s over. No sleeping over till the next day."

Lucas’s face lit up, his grin wide. "Deal."
