Chapter 154: Consequences.

Her question felt heavy, causing Aiden to shift uncomfortably in his seat.

"Louise already blurred his face in the video, though. Only those who know him and have seen that video would recognize him," Mark said with a heavy sigh. "And we know him. I believe we should tell the police officers. He’s gotta be punished."

"They’re going to find out sooner or later. They’re not that dumb," Lucas chimed in, his arms crossed over his chest.

"Besides, do you guys really believe Racheal is in charge of the drug distribution? Or did she take the blame for others? If anyone should be punished, it should really be Jessica. She’s the one who started all this. That girl is a devil," Lara interjected, her body tensed with anger.

"That’s true. Racheal isn’t that kind of girl. Her brain isn’t sharp enough to come up with something like this," Mark added, shaking his head in disbelief. "This all started because of Jessica, and Racheal, Anabella, and Peace were dumb enough to fall into her trap."

"There’s no doubt Henry is involved too. He’s been acting weird and distant. He’s going to ruin himself sooner or later," Olive said, shaking her head.

"Anyway, I hope they get out of this mess they’ve gotten themselves into," Mark said as he stood up, motioning to Lara. "Let’s see each other later." He smiled before walking away with Lara.

Aiden then stood up, his body frail and weak, though he did his best to hide it. "See you later, Arthur. I need to rest now."

"Sure, see you later. I’ll check up on you," Olive replied with a smile, which Aiden returned before walking away.

"I’ll check up on you later," Lucas mimicked with an irritated expression, his hard gaze fixed on Olive.

"What’s wrong with you?" Olive asked, frowning.

"Let me tell you something," Lucas said, his voice serious as he rose from his chair. "You can’t be with anyone else but me. You’re mine, and I’m yours. You have no right to be with anyone else."

"Be with? What are you talking about?" Olive raised an eyebrow, her expression puzzled, but instead of replying, Lucas walked away, leaving her dumbfounded.

"Can you just tell me what you mean already? Don’t drive me crazy!" Olive shouted, her body tense with anger as she ran after Lucas.

Meanwhile, in Jessica’s room, she, Anabella, Peace, and Henry sat in silence, their faces contorted with worry and frustration.

"Did you see that? I knew Louise was a bastard," Anabella said, breaking the awkward silence. "But what about you, Jessica? Are you an idiot? We joined your so-called drug group so you could provide us with thugs to go after Louise and destroy his system."

"Exactly! We’ve been selling drugs, but you keep saying it’s not enough, so you won’t provide the thugs anytime soon," Peace chimed in, clearly frustrated as she folded her arms. "Racheal’s been arrested, and even though she hasn’t implicated us yet, it’s only a matter of time before the police figure it out. We’re all going to end up in jail!"

"Can you both just shut up?!" Jessica, who had been sitting quietly, suddenly barked, her eyes blazing with anger. "Is your friend that dumb too? How could she hide the drugs in her school uniform and let it be exposed to the principal?"

"Where else could she have hidden it? Her pants or her bra?" Anabella shot back, her voice dripping with sarcasm. "Screw you, Jessica! Screw you!" She spat on the floor.

That was the last straw for Jessica. She jumped up from the bed and landed a heavy punch on Anabella’s face, sending her crashing to the ground.

Anabella got up to retaliate but missed, giving Jessica another chance to punch her. This time, Peace joined in, pulling Anabella back as they both attacked Jessica. But Jessica was far more experienced in boxing, and she began showcasing her skills, fighting both girls off as they scrambled on the ground like wild animals.

"Can you three just stop?!" Henry yelled, his voice filled with anger. "Stop behaving like mad dogs."

Jessica rose from the floor and fixed her furious gaze on him. "Were you blind when they were blaming me? Those two idiots!"

"And is this fight necessary?!" Henry shouted. "You think brawling like this is going to solve anything? Racheal is sitting in prison, suffering because of us, while Louise is out there. The police are going to get him soon but once they do, we’ll fucking end up in prison."

"Louise will reveal why he posted our sex videos. He’ll expose all our crimes," Peace said, biting her fingernails nervously. "I don’t want to go to jail! The school is already trying to delete the video, but my dad has heard about it but if he hears that I was into drugs too, he’ll surely kill me. I’m s disgrace to my family."

"We’ve got to do something," Anabella said, her face pale with fear. "Racheal being at the police station is temporary. She’ll be sent to rehab and be out soon. But once Louise decides to ruin us further, then we would never be able to escape."

"There’s nothing we can do now," Jessica replied coldly. "The video is out so there’s no point sending thugs out to destroy Louise system. You girls should just talk to Louise. Beg him not to implicate you further."

The room fell into a shocked silence, Jessica’s words sending chills down their spines.

"And you really think that’s easy. That Louise would just accept our apologies like that?" Peace spat, her body tensed up in frustration.

"Do you have a better option then?" Jessica asked with a wide smirk plastered on her face. "If you don’t have then you better shut the fuck up."

"There isn’t a better plan. We’ll have to do it. We’ll beg him," Anabella finally said, her voice resigned. "If that’s what it takes to keep us safe, then so be it."

"Yeah, there’s no other way," Peace finally agreed, tears streaming down her cheeks. "The video will get deleted once the police get to him, but we need to be careful."

"I’m out of here," Henry said, storming out of the room with anger etched on his face, leaving the girls speechless.

The next day arrived swiftly as the golden sun shone brightly over the buildings of Belmont. Students bustled to and fro, attending to their various activities.

"Hey!" Lucas greeted as soon as he spotted Olive by the lockers. But Olive ignored him, prompting a frown from Lucas.

"Are you going to stay quiet all day? You’re not going to talk to me at all?" Lucas asked, raising an eyebrow, but Olive didn’t even glance at him. She gathered her books and started to walk away, but Lucas grabbed her arm, pulling her back.

"What do you want from me, Lucas?" Olive finally snapped, her voice laced with anger. "Let’s stay away from each other, okay?"

"Come on. You’re mad because I wouldn’t tell you what happened the other night," Lucas said, chuckling. "You’re cute when you’re angry."

{Everyone, please make your way to the assembly hall now.}

The electronic announcement echoed through the school, and Olive and Lucas exchanged puzzled glances. The hallway buzzed with students murmuring in confusion.

"Didn’t we just have an assembly a while ago?" Olive asked, raising an eyebrow.

"We..."

Before Lucas could respond, the blaring sirens of police cars and ambulances rang through the air. Moments later, police officers and paramedics rushed into the building, their faces filled with urgency as they made their way toward the stairs.

"What the hell is going on?" Olive asked, her anxiety growing. Just then, Mark and Lara ran over, their faces pale with worry.

"Have you guys heard?" Mark asked, panting for breath.

"Heard what?" Lucas asked, his curiosity piqued.

"Someone died again," Lara revealed, her voice shaking. "I don’t know who it is yet. The police are bringing the body down, but we’re forbidden from going to the rooftop for now."

"Again?!" Olive cried out, her body tense with shock. "Must someone always die?"

"It’s really getting serious," Mark added gravely. Just then, paramedics wheeled a stretcher past, the body covered by a blood-soaked white cloth.

"What about Aiden?" Olive asked, her worry deepening. "Have you seen him this morning?"

"What’s Aiden got to do with this?" Lucas asked, his tone irritated. "You really care about Aiden, don’t you? Do you love him?"

"Stop with your stupid jokes! Now isn’t the time for that!" Olive snapped, her anger flaring. She turned to Mark and Lara, who both shook their heads, confirming that they hadn’t seen Aiden. A cold dread began to creep over Olive, Mark, and Lara.

The dead body was soon brought down on the strecher by the paramedics who moved towards the school exit only to be stopped suddenly.

"Who died?" Lucas demanded, stepping forward to stop the paramedics. "Who’s under there?"

"Move aside, kid," one of the officers said sternly, but Lucas was relentless. He reached out and pulled the cloth back, revealing a familiar face.
