Chapter 133: Secrets And Shame.
Chapter 133: Secrets And Shame.
"Tell me he’s lying," Lucas repeated, his voice cracking with emotion.
Anabella lifted her head, tears streaming down her face. "We didn’t know about the cameras. We didn’t know everyone was watching."
Rachael and Peace nodded in agreement, their faces etched with shame.
"But you did agree to... this?" Mark asked, his tone gentle yet probing.
The girls exchanged nervous glances."It’s complicated," Rachael whispered.
"Complicated?" Lucas’s voice rose. "You’re ruining your lives, and it’s ’complicated’?"
Olive placed a calming hand on Lucas’s arm. "Let them explain."
Anabella took a deep breath. "Louise promised us... protection. He said he’d keep our secrets if we... slept with him."
"Protection?" Mark’s skepticism was evident. "You better explain yourselves properly and stop beating around the bush."
Rachael nodded. "There’s a secret we have... something Louise is holding over us. Something that could ruin us. We felt like we had no choice."
Peace spoke up, her voice barely audible. "We were desperate. We thought it was the only way."
Lucas’s face contorted in disgust. "He said you girls have been doing this for a while now, that this isn’t the first time. Is that why you agreed so willingly? And what, you’re planning on sleeping with him again after this so that he would continue to keep that secrets of yours? Is that it?"
Olive tightened her grip on Lucas’s arm. "That’s enough, Lucas."
Anabella’s eyes flashed with anger. "You don’t understand. You don’t know what it’s like to be in our shoes."
The tension in the room was palpable. Lucas’s expression softened slightly, but his voice still carried judgment. "What stupid shoes, Anabella? You had sex with Aiden while we’re still dating . Was it because Aiden had a secret on you too? And now you’re sleeping with your stepbrother? You know what? I was already thinking of how to get my mom to stop liking you. Well, after this, she won’t want anything to do with you. After watching that video, she wouldn’t want a slut for a daughter-in-law." His voice dripped with bitterness. "Your father will have no choice but to let go of the business partnership with my family."
"Lucas!" Anabella cried bitterly, the betrayal clear in her voice.
Rachael’s voice trembled. "We didn’t know about the broadcast. We swear. Louise wanted to shame us in front of everyone. Now, he’s using the video to blackmail us."
Peace nodded vigorously. "We never would have agreed if we knew this would happen. He’s a devil."
"What secret does Louise have over you that’s so terrible you don’t want to involve the police?" Mark demanded, his frustration mounting. "I’m even going to call the police, Louise has to be punished for this."
"No, Mark. We can’t involve the police. Not only would Louise get off with just a few days in prison, but we’d be ruined. Our families would disown us," Peace said, tears rolling down her cheeks. "Please, just help us."
Mark’s brow furrowed, incredulous. "And what then? You’ll just keep giving him what he wants? You really think he’ll stop?"
Anabella wiped her eyes, her voice breaking as she spoke. "You don’t understand. I was the first one he slept with. He didn’t even touch Peace or Rachael before you guys came in. I was the one in the middle of it all. Louise filmed me having sex with my stepbrother. If our father finds out, I’m finished. This wasn’t about Peace or Rachael. Louise came to this school for me. I hurt him, and now he’s going to destroy me."
"So, you don’t think this will happen again?" Mark asked, skeptical. "You think Louise will just stop after this?"
Peace shook her head, her voice trembling. "Louise has what he wants now, a video that can ruin us forever. He wouldn’t want anything from us again . He only recorded us to humiliate us in front of our classmates, and now he’s going to use it to control us."
"But he’ll keep using it against you, forever," Mark countered. "Unless you find a way to delete everything."
Anabella nodded, a determined look crossing her face. "We will. It’s just a matter of time. But we really can’t involve the police."
Lucas’s anger began to soften, replaced by concern. "Let’s just get you out of here first." The others nodded in agreement.
As they gathered the girls’ belongings and headed out of the room, Olive’s phone buzzed. "It’s Jessica. She’s texting me," she announced.
"What does she say?" Mark asked.
Olive’s eyes widened. "She says Louise’s guards are deleting the footage from everyone’s phones."
Mark exhaled a heavy sigh of relief. "He just wants the video on his phone. That’s... better. We can deal with that later."
Lara clenched her jaw. "You three will have to be strong. There’s no avoiding the shame and ridicule at school. But you’ll get through it."
The three girls nodded, and the group made their way downstairs.
In the living room, students’ eyes followed them, whispers spreading among the crowd, laced with disdain.
"Ignore them," Lara whispered to the girls. "It’s not like they haven’t done worse things themselves."
The group exited the mansion in silence, their phones returned after being searched by Louise’s guards.
Olive frowned as she checked her phone. "Why did they wipe everything?"she muttered but chose not to pursue the issue further. They walked out into the cool night air, the tension still heavy around them.
They then climbed into Mark’s Maybach, and the chauffeur drove them back to Belmont High School, the weight of the night pressing down on them.

The next day at Belmont, the hallways buzzed with students going about their usual routines.
Meanwhile, Olive, Lucas, Mark, and Aiden sat together in the scholarship students’ cafeteria, eating their meals in silence.
"Are they planning to avoid school forever?" Olive finally asked, breaking the awkward silence. "I haven’t seen them all day. They must be going through a lot."
"It’s not easy," Lara chimed in with a heavy sigh. "Our classmates know about what happened last night, even if the whole school doesn’t. I feel bad for them, to be honest."
"Me too. I didn’t know Louise could be that awful. But what did Anabella, Peace, and Racheal do to him to deserve this? Why would he ridicule them like that?" Olive pondered, her expression frustrated. "They’re even scared to report him to the police because they think they’ll get arrested. What crime could they have committed?"
"I knew Louise was trouble, but somehow, people still became friends with him," Lucas said, his arms crossed over his chest, his gaze shifting to Olive with a smirk. "Glad you finally saw his true colors. He’s just an animal in human clothing."
"I wouldn’t have agreed to be friends with him if I’d known. Now, I regret ever speaking to him. He disgusts me," Olive replied, her face twisted with disdain. "He’s so cruel!"
"I’ve been wondering all night what secret Louise is holding over the girls," Mark interjected with a sigh. "They won’t tell us what they did to him, so we’re stuck. We did what we could by bringing them back to school yesterday, but now they need to focus on getting that video footage off his phone instead of hiding out of shame."
"I hope they’re okay soon," Lara added, her expression downcast as Mark placed a comforting hand on hers, offering a reassuring smile.
"Don’t worry too much, babe. They’ll be fine, okay?" Mark said softly. Lara nodded and resumed her meal, as did the others.

Meanwhile, Racheal lay on her bed in her dorm, tears streaming down her face, unable to shake the events of the previous night.
The door creaked open, and Racheal lifted her head to see Jessica standing there, a smirk plastered on her face.
"Are you really planning to hide in here forever?" Jessica asked, closing the door behind her and approaching Racheal.
"Just leave me alone," Racheal mumbled weakly, her tears continuing to fall.
"Look, I don’t like you, and I can’t stand spoiled rich kids like you, but I can’t ignore this," Jessica said with a sigh. "Seeing another girl go through something like this is just... infuriating. You girls were addicts, you killed someone, and then you framed Louise. That’s why he’s coming after you."
Racheal’s eyes widened. "How do you know about that?"
"That doesn’t matter," Jessica replied, waving her hand dismissively. "Or let me just say I got connections. I’m from the streets and I have thugs at my disposal."
"Please, just go away," Racheal pleaded, her voice breaking as more tears streamed down her cheeks.
Ignoring her, Jessica continued, "I’ve created a WhatsApp group for selling the drugs. I’ve done all the legwork, found the names of students, and now everything’s set. We can start making money, and in return apart from you making money, I’ll help you delete those videos from Louise’s phone, and teach him a lesson."
Her words only seemed to irritate Racheal further, who shot her an incredulous look. Rachael’s stomach churned with dread, but a sliver of hope flickered.
