Mrs. George stood confidently at the podium, surveying the sea of faces before her. Her voice, warm and authoritative, filled the hall as she began her speech.

"Welcome, students, to the new term at Belmont High School. I trust you all had a wonderful summer break and are ready to tackle the challenges that lie ahead. As you know, this term marks a significant change in our school’s history. Belmont is now a mixed school once again, and I am delighted to see so many new faces among us."

"We have a lot to look forward to this term—new classes, new clubs, and new opportunities await you all. I encourage you to embrace these changes and make the most of your time here. Some students weren’t able to resume last term with you, but expect many new students to be joining you. I wish you all the best of luck in your studies."

As Mrs. George continued her speech, Olive found her attention drifting to Lucas and Anabella, who were seated a few rows ahead. They seemed lost in their own world, their hands touching as they whispered to each other.

Lara, noticing Olive’s gaze, leaned over and whispered, "I can’t believe Lucas is doing this. Isn’t he the one who told you how much he loves you? Meanwhile, he already had a girlfriend. Guys are so annoying, to be honest."

But what I didn’t expect is that he’s still with her, still loves her, and still had the nerve to confess his feelings to me."

"But to be honest, what if he’s doing all this just to make you jealous? You know guys are unpredictable," Lara interjected, raising an eyebrow.

"I doubt that. He still has sex with Anabella. I once caught them together in the bathroom. He’s definitely not doing all that just to make me jealous," Olive responded with a look of disgust. "If not for the fact that I don’t want to break Mark’s heart by ending our friendship, as well as with Aiden and Henry, I wouldn’t still be part of the 3RM. Anabella made life hell for Henry and me just because we’re on scholarships. She insults us at every slight opportunity."

"Damn! She better not try that shit with me, or I might ruin her pretty face," Lara interjected. "I hate spoiled and rude brats like her the most."

"You’re kind of different. Although you’re a scholarship student, the school isn’t responsible for your expenses. Mark is, hence you have his support and all," Olive replied with a heavy sigh.

"I know, but I’m not going to let her insult you now that I’m here," Lara said with a serious expression. "Now that I think about it, if this bitch knew you were a girl—more beautiful and sexier than her—your life would be worse than hell. The way Lucas steals glances at you sometimes kind of shows that he still loves you to be honest. Anabella wouldn’t be okay with that and would make your life even more miserable."

"He doesn’t love me, Lara. Someone who loves you wouldn’t go ahead and sleep with other girls. Besides, I like Lucas’s new behavior. He can sleep with any girl he wants and spare me his fake love and affection. I’m not even interested in the dramas between the elite," Olive said with a heavy sigh, while Lara just nodded in agreement, both of them redirecting their gaze back to the principal.

"I also want to use this opportunity to tell you all that you have a new principal," Mrs. George announced with a smile. Her statement threw the assembly hall into a buzz as students began talking among themselves, their expressions puzzled, shocked, and curious.

"Huh? What exactly is she up to again?" Lucas murmured under his breath, his gaze fixed on Mrs. George.

"The new principal is Miss Clara George," Mrs. George declared.

The assembly hall erupted into joy and excitement as they watched Clara, dressed in a black Chanel suit and trousers, her hair simple yet elegant, walk in. A smile danced on her lips as she made her way to the stage and stood beside Mrs. George.

She was the students celebrity, their model, their god—and now, she was their new principal. They would get to see her every day.

"I guess Lucas’s mom is tired of being the principal," Olive murmured with a light chuckle.

Mrs. George then handed the mic over to Clara and stepped down.

"Good morning, students of Belmont," Clara began, a warm smile on her face. "I welcome you all to yet another academic session. I look forward to working with all of you to push Belmont High School forward."

"Belmont is now a mixed school once again, after five long years. It always was before, but boys and girls were separated due to an unfortunate incident. But I’m happy we’re all back together again. We’re here to make history and memories together. I welcome you all once again." Miss Clara concluded before stepping down.

The assembly erupted into roars of excitement.

"Alright, students. Dismissed!" Mrs. George announced.

Lara was the first to stand up but was quickly pulled down by a female student, causing a puzzled expression to appear on her face. "What the heck?"

"How dare you stand up before the powerful couples gets up? It’s obvious you’re new here, but I’ll advise you to be careful and stay in your lane," the short-haired girl warned with a dangerous look.

Lara shifted her gaze to Olive, who only placed her hand on her forehead in frustration.

Just then, Lucas and Anabella got up and walked out of the assembly hall. Only then did the other students rise and start to leave.

"What the hell was that?" Lara exclaimed once everyone except Mark, Aiden, Henry, and Olive remained in the assembly hall.

"What the hell is what?" Henry asked with a smirk. "You’re surprised Lucas is back to his old ways? Well, I can say Anabella caused that. They’re back together. They were the couple of Belmont before the boys and girls were separated, and now that it’s a mixed school again, it’s only normal the students treat them with the same respect they once did."

"Even though Lucas isn’t bullying anymore, Anabella wouldn’t spare anyone who crosses her path. You can ask Arthur and Henry what the scholarship students faced last term when we returned to find Belmont had become a mixed school. Trust me, the remaining days of that term were the worst for scholarship students. If not for the fact that Arthur and Henry are our friends, they would’ve been punished even more, but they still couldn’t escape the insults. We couldn’t save them every time." Aiden interjected with a smirk.

"And Lucas stood by it?" Lara exclaimed, placing her hands on her waist in frustration.

"Of course. Anabella only needs Lucas’s support to deal mercilessly with scholarship students. Since Lucas doesn’t disagree with her, he accepts whatever she does. The heir to Belmont High School and the heir to Anderson Cosmetics—even Aiden and I have little say in anything," Mark chimed in with a heavy sigh.

"I noticed Lucas’s behavior changed the moment we got back from the vacation house. I knew something happened between him and Arthur, but I still can’t figure it out, and neither of them will say anything," Aiden stated with a heavy sigh, his gaze fixed on Lara. "Anyways, welcome to Belmont High School, Lara. I hope you have a great day," Aiden added before making his way out of the assembly hall.

"One piece of advice: If you really want to enjoy your time at Belmont, stay away from Anabella and her friends. Even if you’re now Mark’s girlfriend, you can’t expect Mark to always be with you and save you whenever you get into trouble. Trust me, once Anabella finds out about your real background, your life will be a living hell. You might be Mark’s girlfriend, but you’re just a scholarship student from a poor family to them," Henry chimed in with a serious tone before making his way out of the assembly hall, leaving Lara dumbfounded.
